  1. Were Kelce/Hunt/Hill hurt or what? That Chiefs offense looked like trash when we played them. Not quite sure why they're playing so much better this season.
  2. Would it even matter if Mahomes was out? Any QB would be putting up video game numbers in that offense.?
  3. Mahomes even blocks out like a champ. I think it's time for the skeptics to give up the fight and just root for our guy.
  4. It's very early in the game, but the Colts can't go three and out here. As good as Luck is, the offense isn't really built to strike quick. Can't afford to fall too far behind. I know Luck's history of big comebacks, but don't see it happening here. KC won't stop scoring IMO. We shall see.
  5. This game could get ugly. Indy is a grind it out team. Not sure they're ready for a shootout against Mahomes and company.
  6. OC's tend to want to be innovate I suppose. That means expanded playbooks, etc. Daboll is no different. I think what you're getting at is the Bills offense would have had better results with a simplified playbook, especially with a rookie QB. Can't argue with that. There is the possibility that being thrown to the wolves with the complex playbook may help Allen long term, especially if that combo remains together for an extended period of time. Either way, interesting topic.
  7. 538 gave him roughly the equivalent of an 8 point dog winning straight up. Not even remotely close to a wild upset. Some people aren't into data I suppose.
  8. Other than sneaks(which is too effective not to use), I hate Allen's designed runs. I don't have the stats, but they were not particularly effective if memory serves. He's at his best when the play breaks down and he takes off from there.
  9. My perception of Buffalo is a bit skewed. Growing up in Maryland, we'd take summer vacations to Pop's(Detroit) and Mom's(Buffalo, specifically Armor.) I grew up loving the area mostly because I was a freaking kid and it was just cool. Wasn't a fan of downtown, but this was the early 90's. Popped back in a few times over the 90's and 2000's and had a great time only because I was attending a Bills game. Last time I was there was the Raiders game in 2017. Crazy day because the temperature went from 70 to 30 on Sunday. Must say that the city was vastly improved since my time there in the 90's. It's funny that people from places like Pittsburgh or Philly trash Buffalo. I live in Las Vegas because I'm also a weather p word, but Buffalo is definitely improving and no worse than other cities in the region. I would advise the OP to not let such trivialities affect your mood.
  10. One would have to wonder if that formula is sustainable or if the superior player/more complex scheme has more staying power. In the small sample size with the Bills, you could point to Barkley's one game with a dumbed down playbook/inferior player as being effective. Maybe DA just sucks and his performances don't factor in. It seems as though you're suggesting Daboll simplify the playbook for Allen. Not quite sure how I feel about that over the long haul. I would personally stick with Wentz and the expanded playbook, but it's an interesting debate.
  11. Fair enough. Joseph is trash and Daboll is a genius. It's astounding that anyone would give Joseph a positional job, let alone DC.
  12. Absolutely. We're all a little bit selfish. The whole situation has to be eating him alive and I don't think he would have minded if that kick went in. Just an incredibly odd situation. There's little doubt in my mind that he's at least conflicted.
  13. Based on DVOA, they were 18th. But based on yardage, that is correct. Daboll's first stint as an OC? DFL. As in 32ind in the NFL. Next stop: 29th. So he did in fact get to Joseph's level in stop number 2. He followed that up with offenses that ranked 22, 24, and 30.
  14. I think the writer was clearly taking a dig at the city, or he wouldn't have said "all the way up" to Buffalo. Either way, meh. Definitely nothing to get worked up over.
  15. I wouldn't be happy if the Bills hired him as HC. The QB situation was a mess, but he's gonna have to earn another shot. I'd hardly be outraged if he was hired as a DC. He'll have to earn another shot at that. Meh. To each their own, right? I still don't get it.
  16. I don't entirely understand the premise of the thread. He's been moderately successful on the defensive side of the ball, so there's nothing unusual about a team hiring him as a DC.
  17. In Joseph's one season as a DC, his unit ranked 18th. Brian Daboll, in 4 stints, has never had an offense that ranked in the top 20.
  18. As has been stated here several times, Mahomes put up 20 more touchdowns than ANY QB has in Andy Reid's 20 years as a HC. Following up on that, do you think we need to replace Daboll or do you have confidence he'll right the ship? I just want to see the offense and defense work. Hope and excuses only last so long absent results.
  19. I definitely hope you are correct. I would hate to see the team sitting on cash because the perfect players weren't available. Perfect players rarely hit free agency. You can roll over a certain portion of the cap, but it really doesn't serve the franchise well to have all this space every year. The good teams generally hover right around the cap and make tweaks here and there to keep the premium players.
  20. I'll tell you this. That 90 mil in cap space has lost much of it's luster now that we actually take a look at the available free agents.
