  1. I would say it's always been more difficult to attract coaches/free agents to Buffalo. It has less to do with McDermott than it does weather/small market/lack of success. McDermott would likely have a far easier task of attracting the "top" guys if he coached in Houston/LA/NO etc. It's entirely possible that the under the radar guys will end up being solid hires. There wasn't a peep of reported interest from other teams in any of the guys the Bills hired. Not a peep. That leads me to believe they were not sought after. Doesn't mean it won't work out in our favor.
  2. I personally project the wheels falling off for TB in 2019, but that's an opinion. Leaving that aside, he would walk away the ultimate winner if he gets ring number 6 and says "I'm done." Not quite sure why Bills fans would be happy with that Tom Brady finale.
  3. Thank God the Bills dodged that bullet! Amirite! I agree. No idea why you'd feel that way. Let's just hope Allen is the real deal so we can put this stuff to bed.
  4. So you agree that should Brady return for another season, there is a good chance the wheels come off? He's at the point where he really can't afford to lose ANY velocity. As great as he is(the greatest), the end is right around the corner. I hope he returns next season as well.?
  5. I don't have a problem with the OT rules as they exist, but the AFC Championship was one of those games where the coin toss was likely going to decide the winner. Unfortunate for Chiefs fans, but hardly a reason to overhaul the format. The idea that @Steptidepresented was intriguing; an 8 minute period where the team that's ahead wins the game. It's not out of the question and you could expand that to 15 minutes in playoff games. There are already different OT rules for the playoffs considering the game cannot end in a tie. I'd rather keep the current rules in place, but that's one I hadn't heard.
  6. It has not always been this disproportionate. Not even close. The consolidation of wealth is teetering at the point where the entire thing will eventually collapse. But laissez faire all the way! Not sure if solutions even exist so it is what it is. I'll stay on topic. I watched the show and found Marshawn to be a useless guest. He was out of his element and Maher was clearly disappointed that he was unable to bring anything substantive. I assume he's a funny guy when he's in his element. This was not it.
  7. Nobody seems to be able to take away those quick reads and it's maddening. Brady is so damn good at diagnosing the defense and getting Edelman into a one on one matchup with a linebacker. If I'm implementing a gameplan, I'm dedicating a corner to Edelman. Not sure it would work as Brady is so damn good pre-snap and would probably hit Burkhead or White or whoever out of the backfield somehow, but I'm not letting the bearded guy beat me for 8-12 yards at a time, especially on third and 10! As far as KC's defensive front, it's not very stout. They got gashed pretty good whenever NE decided to run it up the gut. I would even attribute that to Brady. Seems like every time he checks to a run play, it goes for 6 plus yards. Sickening.
  8. Agree with the masterful defensive gameplan, but KC and Mahomes had it figured out by the 4th quarter. Ultimately too little too late, but I believe if they win the toss in OT, it's a different story.
  9. I don't mind brash QB's, but this fixation with Jackson has reached the point where it's borderline creepy. Let is go dude. The only person that can derail Mayfield's career is Mayfield.
  10. I'll add wasting 10 seconds prior to calling a TO on the Pats last possession. They could have conceivably had the ball with 50 seconds as opposed to 39. He leaves a lot to be desired as a HC, but I still would have preferred to see him get a ring. Followed him for a long time in Philly and always liked his style. Some people might not think much of that 10 seconds, but the Chiefs could have theoretically had the ball at the NE 22 with 26 seconds if he calls the TO without letting precious seconds run off the clock. With Mahomes improvisational skills and the Chiefs weapons, who knows? It's all a footnote in history at this point. Andy Reid hasn't been able to find a DC since Jim Johnson passed. Horrible defensive gameplan and all solid points.
  11. I fear the Pats defense is going to take away the intermediate routes Goff is comfortable throwing and he's going to look very timid. Not a big fan of the way Goff is playing right now and fully expect a Pats win. Mahomes was their biggest challenge and they overcame that.
  12. I have no idea how Brady does what he does with such a diminished arm. It could be argued that this run is the most impressive run considering he's doing it with a slightly better version of Nate Peterman's arm. Hate the guy, but there's no denying his greatness. That game, IMO, was gonna come down to the cointoss in OT. I don't think either QB was going to be denied. Poor Andy just can't catch a break.
  13. I believe Hall was not the top choice based on the timeline. As far as Bob Johnson and Heath Farewell are concerned, they're also undistinguished coach's who didn't appear to be on other team's radar. Maybe McDermott preferred to go the up and comer route or maybe the more established coach's made decisions to go elsewhere. I have no idea. I'll withhold judgement on the quality of the hires until we see the 2019 Buffalo Bills. Really an exercise in futility to attempt to assess how a position coach will fare in his first go round.
  14. This Patriots Army offense is beautiful in it's efficiency but painfully boring to watch. The kid is gonna have to play better than he did against Indy.
  15. I don't know. I thought it was a facemask on the Saints as well, but I don't believe it was rigged to favor the Saints.
  16. Yep. Rams got the short end of the stick several times during the course of the game. Saints had an opportunity to win in overtime and didn't get it done. Until calls are reviewed, which they should be, you have to deal with the bad ones and create your own luck. Rams made the big defensive play and their kicker was MONEY. Shoulda been called, but it wasn't. At that point, you forget about it and A) get a stop defensively or B)get it done on offense in OT. NO did neither.
  17. You really wouldn't think so..... Whether or not this guy was McDermott's first choice, the only thing that really matters is Hall's ability to maximize Foster/Jones and what I expect to be multiple new receivers. To that end, none of us have any idea. Tough to really know what kind of job TR did because the group as a whole was bad. Let's just hope Hall has more to work with if he is indeed the hire.
  18. Not sure we saw the same tape of the Mixon or Hunt incidents. But you're a lock em up and throw away the key guy, so we're not gonna find common ground. That's fine.
  19. Of course not. If Daboll turns the offense around next season, maybe he'll get an interview. It was never realistic to think that he was going to get HC offers this season. I mean, it wouldn't have been out of the question to fire him after finishing 31st on offense. Considering what he had to work with, it would have been unfair. But when your offense teeters on historically bad for much of the season, a promotion is highly unlikely. I'm all about giving him a year to work with Allen and see if he can right the ship, but no. Just no. It was never going to happen. Someone will undoubtedly point to Lafleur, but Daboll has a much longer track record of poor performance. He's (hopefully) got a QB now, so it's time for his offense to step up.
  20. Isn't this thread kind of pre-empting non stop Mahomes talk if the Chiefs win?
  21. The 470 is what you COLLECT. That figure was used to explain the profit of 270.
  22. There are times I'd rather just throw in the towel. It is what it is.
  23. Speaking of Favre, can you even imagine Brady playing for another team? Montana on the Chiefs was odd, but I really can't think of a player more tied to an organization/HC.
  24. That's exactly right. Let's say you bet the Chiefs moneyline(just to win), you'd win somewhere around 150 for the 200 dollar bet grossing 350. The Pats are the dog so you're going to WIN more than you bet (270 grossing 470). You profit either way(assuming you win), but the profit will always be greater for the dog. The OP may be a bit disgruntled if the Chiefs win by 1,2, or 3!
  25. That's an interesting point. Considering he was playing on a 4th round rookie contract, he's gonna cash in bigtime because of this incident. Just kind of a strange consequence.
