  1. No need to worry on that front. For whatever reason, our fanbase has become obsessed with the cap since they gutted the roster. They are overpaying these guys, but that's the way free agency works, especially when you have so much space. They've also structured the contracts in a manner that allows flexibility in the event they have to pay the QB/White/Edmunds a couple years from now. That would be a good problem to have. The real question is whether or not these guys help the Bills win in 2019. The good teams just wiggle money around to stay under the cap. That's the least of our concerns.
  2. Graded as above average by PFF last season in 14 games(5 starts). Don't hate it. Don't love it.
  3. Agree entirely. Brown is a 15 YPC career guy. Beasley is a slot guy, but he's elusive. Whatever you think of Allen, these are the kind of players you surround him with. He'll never be the most precise/accurate QB in the league, so you play to his strengths; guys who's number 1 trait is the ability to separate and make plays down the field. Beasley isn't particularly exciting, but he's a terrific fit in an EP offense and can help alleviate the need for a premiere TE if the draft doesn't swing that way.
  4. I thought it was just me!! Cannot stand those GIF's.
  5. Weather is definitely a factor. Let's not kid ourselves. But you can overcome that impediment by building a brand that teams want to be a part of. That comes with winning. I was disappointed they didn't land AB, but very happy with the acquisitions they've made thus far. There were some that didn't expect the Bills to be a major player in free agency because the "process" was a 5 year plan etc. Make no mistake; this regime wants to win NOW and understands they don't have forever. I'm encouraged.
  6. This is a terrific signing and an indication that perhaps the Bills are more favorably viewed as they were last offseason. I'm in.
  7. I feel a bit better after taking a panoramic shot of his career. I know he was trash last year when I watched him, but many have pointed to injury being a major factor.
  8. You might be right. But his skill set is pretty remarkable. With the way the game has evolved, I could see him succeeding. Really could. He's a little shorter than the guys I mentioned, but his mobility/arm talent is probably superior. QB's with baseball backgrounds have done pretty damn well in the NFL.
  9. 6 games seems fair. I will say that what Rice did is not the equivalent of what Hunt did. We have trouble as a society distinguishing degree of offense. Rice wasn't banished, but at his age, he wasn't worth the PR hit. And his actions were far, far worse.
  10. I could have listed many examples of MLB players and all the reasons you cite are valid, but Altuve is MAYBE 5'6", so that completely takes Murray's height of 5'10" or 5'11" off the table in baseball. A few QB's named Russell Wilson, Drew Brees and Baker Mayfield are doing pretty well in football as well. The height thing is antiquated. But the main thing for us is that the more QB's available in the draft, the better.
  11. I just don't understand this. Domestic Violence is a serious offense. It's a misdemeanor, but it's a serious offense. There are also degrees of offense. For instance, Ray Rice mercilessly beat a woman. This does not rise to that level. Should someone be banished for life from their profession for this offense? I say no. I say a first time offender is suspended 6-8 games, but banishment is really excessive.
  12. There's this guy for the Astros named Jose Altuve. Just saying. Either way, this is a good thing for the Bills.
  13. The saddest thing about that list is that Dick Jauron is on it.
  14. I have zero interest in expending the kind of resources required to get Bell. I actually think he's a TAD overrated. Very good player, but not so sure he's not at least partially a byproduct of the system. Definitely can find a RB in Rd 3/4/ or even 5. Now picking the right one...
  15. It's not a tumaahhhh. But totally concur that the Bills are most certainly not set at the RB position. Ok, we didn't sign Hunt. That's fine. But they cannot go into next season thinking a 30 plus year old Shady is going to find the fountain of youth. Needs to be addressed.
  16. You really think Shady still has it or is anywhere near as good as Hunt RIGHT NOW? Run blocking aside, I didn't see that burst. Hope you're correct.
  17. Yep. Brilliant move. As someone else said, the FIRST team to sign him will get the headlines. After some times passes and he serves a suspension, MEH.
  18. They'll wait it out and decide who they like better and THEN deal him for a 2nd. It was an outstanding move by the Browns. I'm into second chances. I guess that's out of style right now.
  19. Yep. I feel like we really missed an opportunity here. Ah well. They need to address the RB position somehow. This apparently made too much sense.
  20. I think he's got to work on taking something off the gimmies and placing them in a spot where the receiver can continue to run. The toss to Ivory was a perfect example of this and something that gave me more hope than any one play probably warrants. Maybe he needs a LB in his face to aid the touch.? Also not surprised by the intermediate percentage. He's money on the 8-12 yard stick routes. His success or failure will ultimately be determined by his ability to read/react and deliver on the underneath routes. As others have noted, this is likely going to be a focal point during the offseason.
  21. It's a tricky dynamic here. While I think he could be a stud LG, I think he's fine as an LT and he's playing on a rookie contract at a premium position. I'd be inclined to keep him at LT and allocate resources at guard. I happen to think Teller is a player, so I believe we only need one G.
