  1. The more I think about it, Oakland makes more sense. I was at that game and after a slow start, we started GASHING them running left. I distinctly remember him dominating at LG even if I can't recall the specific drive/game. He LOOKS like an LG. I think he's serviceable at LT, which is a premium position, but could be dominant at LG. If the opportunity presents itself to acquire a top tier LT, I would love to see that tackle paired up with Dawkins at LG.
  2. Zero chance. Josh Allen part 2 could easily be taken ahead of Bosa.
  3. "Shines" may be a tad steep, but I agree with the sentiment. Rob Johnson is one of the greatest practice QB's of all time. Peterman over AJ was a huge miscalculation but it ultimately doesn't matter if Allen pans out. We would have almost certainly lost to Baltimore with ANY of the QB's on the roster, traded, or cut. Way too much focus on that one game.
  4. Absolutely not, but then again, I'm extremely handsome?. I take pride in the fact that I'm a Bills fan through all the misery, so let people talk and I'll talk right back.
  5. But Mahomes plays like a gold glove 2nd baseman. There are definitely physical similarities, but I've never seen a player do the crazy things Mahomes does. That should be perceived as a knock on Allen. Allen is a better runner and probably has a stronger arm. When he starts putting it all together on the field in 2019, the respect will follow.
  6. Could be wrong but I believe it was TB week 7.
  7. I mean no offense, but I've never understood that mentality. You have to think outside the box a bit and realize that not everyone makes good decisions or has your mentality. I'm never surprised when a guy falls off or screws up. I can guarantee you he didn't stumble into that house with the intention of throwing millions of dollars away. It's kind of like asking why a prison inmate could POSSIBLY have done what he did to land in lockup. People screw up. I've heard nothing but bad things about Kelly, but still hope he gets his act together. Redemption stories are the best.
  8. The Mayfield character is a solid look-alike. The OBJ they used looks nothing like OBJ. Mayfield is one of those guys with a non descript look so I suppose he's easier to emulate.
  9. I just don't understand the merit. It's like saying the Bills were furious after a loss. Meh. I'm sure any team would be "furious" if a player they coveted was drafted right before their pick whether it be round 1 or round 4. How is that interesting? As far as I can tell, the Bills targeted Allen all along. So they were mad that another QB needy team jumped to 3? Should they be happy or what? I don't get it.
  10. The Packers Coach was fired FWIW. If, and this is the worst possible scenario, Allen doesn't improve as a passer and the team doesn't look like a legit playoff contender, the questions are going to swirl as to whether the coaching staff, Allen, or both, need to go. We're definitely jumping the gun here, but this is a make or break season for many folks within the Bills organization.
  11. I don't think you necessarily have to replace the 3T DT with a pro bowl level player, but I do think you have to add a pass rusher to sustain or even improve what they had last season. In other words, what you ultimately want from that DT is a pass rush presence. If you improve the pass rush from a different spot, it still works. That being said, I'd have no problem with Ed Oliver at 9. The problem with "take an LT at 9" is that there's a great chance an LT worthy of that pick won't be there. You never wanna "press" on a top 10 pick. Right. The draft is not some video game where a great LT is available and you get to choose the position in which you want to add an elite player.
  12. I think Cook is kind of in a league of his own in that he really is JUST a big receiver. The other tight ends being debated are at least serviceable blockers. When you combine his utter lack of blocking with his age, it kind of makes sense that he hasn't gotten a deal.. He's like a much, much better Croom. Not that he can't contribute to an NFL team(even ours for the right price.) Just helps to explain his true market value.
  13. This is absolutely spot on. I've actually never listened to the show as I've never lived in Buffalo, but the notion that athletes are better analysts is a lazy take. There are NUMEROUS non athletes that provide better analysis than the average athlete. This is to say nothing about WGR. Just that particular take.
  14. I don't know if I agree or disagree, but the late 80's/early 90's Cowboys will certainly be the answer to this question. That situation is a bit more complicated than a full on tank.
  15. This post perfectly summarizes the lack of interest I had in seeing the Bills pay Barr big dollars.
  16. People tend to think of troubled guys like this in black and white terms. It's one thing to wish him well if he truly commits himself to improving his life outside of football. It's an entirely different thing to want that risk anywhere near the football team you root for. So yeah, I hope he gets his act together. God knows I'm in no position to judge those that have made really bad decisions. Don't want that stuff anywhere near the Bills and maybe he needs to clean up his life away from football. His only route is always certainly one of the minor leagues and it would take at least a year of solid behavior for an NFL team to give him another shot. Then there's the question of whether or he's even any good.
  17. My HUNCH is that team's don't view concussions the same way they view other injuries. In all seriousness, how many careers have been cut short because of concussions? It happens, and there are some recent Bills' examples, but it seems like something that will affect Morse post career more than it will during the duration of his contract. I think the risk with concussion issues has more to do with a player deciding to hang it up as opposed to knee/back type things that render a player unable to perform.
  18. I think it's safe to say that Levy's forte was not player selection, especially at that advanced age. Doesn't negate what he did as a coach, but those were some awful drafts.
  19. Same my friend. I don't think any of us can defend the Peterman situation. My overall point was that I do feel McDermott has gotten maximum win totals out of poor rosters. The key question with him I think is whether he's a Dick Jauron(worst case scenario) who can eek out wins from a bunch of castoffs or is a guy able to take that next, all important step. I don't think free agency has been terrific or terrible. It's somewhere in between. The roster is most certainly improved to the point where it's not unrealistic to expect a pretty big leap forward, especially if Allen can build on his end of season improvements.
  20. I'm actually pleasantly surprised that this thread is about 90% "good luck" and 10% bashing a guy who tried his damndest in Buffalo but wasn't a good enough passer to get us over the hump. This is only page 3 though.
  21. That is my concern as well. I'm not hating on Allen, nor will I gush about a guy who hasn't PROVEN to be a top notch passer in the NFL. My overall take from free agency is that acquisitions appear to be good, not great on paper. If Josh Allen IS the real deal, this will take care of itself. No, there is no QB who could take last year's trash heap offense far, but the one we'll field this year will be significantly better. The kind of decent offense that a standout QB can make better.
  22. This is absurd. I am not a huge fan of BEANE, but McDermott had MAXIMIZED the win totals of some VERY limited teams in terms of talent. There is no telling if he's a coach who's good enough to get into the playoffs, but not quite good enough in primetime, but this is a ridiculous take based on what has actually transpired thus far.
