Trump's Assault On Health Care
LSHMEAB replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
How so? People not showing up to court? Crime rate? Just curious. Honestly, I don't care about the ramifications. It's unjust to hold people who have not been convicted of a crime because they don't have the cash to pay bail. People should be free to buy whatever the () they want, but they shouldn't be able to buy freedom. This ain't a pawn shop. -
Trump's Assault On Health Care
LSHMEAB replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
This is a good point. He'd lose a ton of support if he campaigned on these issues, so they're trying to sweep it under the rug. Did you see Mike Pence's reaction when someone asked him about the law that made it easier for states to opt out of Medicaid expansion? Totally shell shocked. People with disabilities need to work? Uhhh. Ok. This is where the rubber meets the road politically. It's not about Trump. It's about socioeconomic policies. I don't have a problem with poor people getting some scraps to eat. The savings there are so miniscule that we may be talking about percentage points in the hundreth's as it pertains to the deficit. I always hear that people become more conservative with wisdom. I've always felt like people are conservative until some awful () happens to THEM. While we're at it, why do none of the FEDERAL criminal justice reforms address cash bail, the biggest fraud ever perpetrated against those at the low end of the wealth spectrum. You're telling me it's cool that a person is released from jail because they have some "collateral?" Freedom is the last thing you wanna be treating like a pawn shop. But again, let's see if Trump actually campaigns on these issues. Alabama, the state with THE highest rate of folks receiving such benefits, may not be so happy. I always respected Paul Ryan because he had the stones to articulate his conservative economic vision. -
The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
LSHMEAB replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
This thing has killed what? 200 people over the course of a month. Mortality rate roughly 3 percent, which I don't buy because that's based on confirmed cases and God knows how many people had the virus, but were never diagnosed. There won't be any doubt when a true threat emerges. -
You're making SEVERAL strawman arguments here. Of course Bridgewater would be EXTREMELY unlikely to go 5-0 with a bad team. Of course Mahomes wouldn't put up 50!!! TD's if he wasn't in a great system. None of that discounts the importance of the QB's ability independent the supporting cast. You're acting like it's an either or proposition when it clearly is not. Yes. The system matters. Alot. So does the QUARTERBACK. Neither of these ideas contradict the other.
-
Mahomes would have played well wherever he was drafted, as would all ELITE!!!! QB's. To imply otherwise suggests you're not particularly adept at understanding what you're watching. This take discounts a great deal of your Allen critique because it's so far off base. He's in a great system with great talent, but only the BEST of the BEST put up a 50 pass TD season. Alex Smith was a decent QB and he put up 25 with the very same supporting cast. The guy is a stud. Plain and simple. And yet you've set Drew Brees as the benchmark. Sean Payton is a pretty good offensive coach, eh?

Democratic 2020 Presidential Primary Thread
LSHMEAB replied to snafu's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Ya know; I doubt Trump is much of a scrapper at this point, but he's probably got that old man strength. Pete would indeed likely take them both out, but he certainly isn't winning any national election. Such a pathetic field. -

This is the correct answer, but; what if this impossible scenario were to actually transpire? In my estimation, Biden would easily win a fistfight. I HONESTLY believe we've devolved so far as a nation that the winner of such a fight would be propelled into the presidency. There are A LOT of informed posters here. Many far more informed than myself. Nevertheless, a great deal of the fealty to Trump from the low IQ faction of his base hinges on the fact that he's viewed as the epitome of masculinity(which I find odd consider his age/fitness level). That's neither here nor there because the Dems have an unbelievably AWFUL group of nominees. -

So who would win the fight? -
Familiarity breeds contempt. Once you've been there and done that for an extended period of time.....but I digress.

Adored Browns mascot Swagger passes away at 6
LSHMEAB replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes. But fortunately he lacked the situation awareness to KNOW that he worked for the Brows! -
Yeah. Sort of. These types of bets are generally designed for fans and not pros. The books know full well how invested Bills fans are in JA, so they'd rather you take it at 40/1 than 100/1 in the event it actually comes to fruition. Also feel like the odds are somewhat reflective of the lack of talent surrounding him and his propensity to get yards on his own. If ANYBODY on the Bills has ANY chance of winning the league MVP, it's clearly Allen. Not knocking Allen here (at all); just offering an opinion on these odds from a betting perspective.

Looking at the picture knowing the pup went young hits me harder than a human loss. Just sad. Dude definitely had a great life! -
I think the notion that non swing states wouldn't get proportionate attention is antiquated. That may have been an issue 200 years ago, but in the modern era, what difference would it make if a candidate didn't personally attend your state? I can switch over to Twitter RIGHT now to find out what's on Trump's mind. I don't think the founder's could have envisioned that scenario.

I acknowledged that they BOTH have issues, and I would consider longevity one of them with Josh. He's got to get better as a passer because he takes too many shots when he takes off. The problem is that it's a major strength for Allen right now, so until his passing improves, he's gotta keep running. I'm really looking at year 3 as a big season for Allen. He took a big step in 2019. If he takes another big step, we're on to something. If he remains stagnant or only slightly improves, I'll be concerned. Seems like you're nitpicking Bill.

I think Allen and Jackson appear to be the best QB's in that class, but at this point, it's a poor barometer. It's starting to look like the class itself is more like 1999 than 1984. 99 was billed as a generation class. Tim Couch, Akili Smith, Donovan McNabb, Cade McNown, Daunte Culpepper. McNabb had a great deal of success and Culpepper had some, but none of them were "great." McNabb is close, but great? I don't think so. There's no guarantee that ANY of the QB's will work out long term. I would say Allen and Jackson have the best shot, but they both have some red flags. Obviously Jackson has accomplished more and would garner more in a trade than Allen, but there are serious questions about his longevity. I will say I'd rather have Allen than Rosen, Darnold, or Mayfield.
-
Listen. We all like Allen and hope it works out. But he remains one of the lowest rated passers in the league 2 years in. I don't think he's overperformed his expectations. I don't think he's PROVEN that he can overcome the deficiencies that plagued him in college. I think his stock would be slightly down. I mean, maybe a late first. Definitely not 2 1's and 2 2's. That's just hyperbolic for no reason.

Todd Gurley trade talk from one reporter
LSHMEAB replied to Rc2catch's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Uhhhh. No. He would instantly become the Bills number 1 back. Having said that, there is virtually zero chance that Todd Gurley will be a Buffalo Bill. But if his knees are diminished to the point that he's no better than DS, why in the world would we throw that kind of money around? May as well sign a bunch of low risk, high reward FA's and see what happens. Or go HARD for one of the premiere pass rushers. I'll just add; I'm not sold on Devin as a gamechanging back. I think he's a really nice player and proved that he can make things happen, but his lack of true speed limit his potential. DS will definitely play a role for the Bills in 2020, but I'd really like to see some "electric" offense weapons. -
Interesting point. I would surmise that while these end of career receivers may still possess a great deal of the physicality to continue, they have to expend far more energy than they did in their prime to attain that level of "ability." That would explain the drop rate and the dip in hand eye coordination as they lose focus while expending the extra energy. Kind of a chicken/egg thing in terms the hand eye coordination issue.

Reid and Mahomes acknowledge impact of Alex Smith
LSHMEAB replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No doubt he'd have had MUCH better success in KC than he's had in Buffalo. But if we're being honest, he's just NOT on Mahomes level as a QB independent of supporting cast/coaching staff. Not right now anyways. -
I like Matt quite a bit. Knew him when he worked out here in Vegas. Having said that, he has a tendency to squash the "hype" guys. He was very much opposed to the hype surrounding Duke, so I think he MAY be a bit biased here. Who knows with Wade? Probably won't work out, but crazier things have happened.
