  1. I always book my vegas stuff through www.travelworm.com stayed at the flamingo for a week for $400 total! I'd suggest seeing Vinnie Favarito, I think he's at the Flamingo now, he was at O'Sheas. A little crude but absolutely hilarious. Just don't speak up or you'll end up on the wrong end of the punch line.
  2. No matter if you think the union guys make $45/hour or $75/hour, the average American makes $18/hour, asking them to support an industry that is failing, isn't the way to go. FYI - The youth of the nation should be the most concerned with all these bailout plans, we're putting them in a further and further hole.
  3. I don't see why the big 3 should be any better than anybody else. Let them file for bankruptcy and sort their sh-- out. PS - I'm not a TARP fan either.
  4. I second that! Free Sapphire & tonic is the only option!
  5. JP! He may throw INTs but he was always good for a big pass to Lee once a game!
  6. endzone above the goal the sabres defended twice for us. i remember the long walk down the steep, steep, steep stairs with my dad worrying i was going to tumble, crazy in all the games i went to nobody ever did. i actually helped myself to an exit sign on the way out of the last game there but lost it moving out of my dorm in college, bummer...
  7. where are the orange seats? my parents had season tickets first row oranges for as long as i can remember, would love to get my hands on a pair of those!
  8. I was surprised this wasn't brought up earlier. Not sure if anybody even realized but this was a big deal this year because they showed the final table 2 days after it occurred, not 4 months. I thought for the short period of time they had the production was pretty good. I'm a big poker fan so I would have preferred a longer episode, maybe 4 hours? than the 2 hour episode that aired but that may not be appealing to the masses. i'm also the same guy who used to pay for the ppv of the live final table without hole cards and watch almost every hand. i think they were really hoping to get some mainstream sponsors this year and it didn't look like that happened but i'm sure the economy we're in now didn't help that. as always i'm going to plug a great website for getting news and info on the poker world: Poker Road is the brainchild of Barry Greenstein and Joe Sebok (his son). There's a lot of news, some good blogs and excellent podcasts, actually by far the best podcasts of any sort that I have found. Even if you don't like poker Two Jacks in the Hole is a non poker podcast that is really funny. That's all for now. WAR - Tiffany Michelle eating french fries with her hands at the poker table
  9. it has been a year or two since i've been to vegas but the best sports book in my opinion was at Mandalay Bay. It was ridiculous, huge and nice and amazing giant TVs plus smokin hot cocktail waitresses. I also was able to drink free (with a few cheap race bets) at the mirage sports book (i watched the Sabres there a few years back). I found ESPNzone to be an annoying place to watch a game but maybe that is just me. it was always crowded and the TVs weren't that great but maybe they have upgraded. good choice on the flamingo, that's where i've stayed about have the time there. it's a great place to play poker if you play. everybody thinks it is cool to play at bellagio or mirage or wherever but you're playing to make money and the flamingo is usually full of tourists and people learning the game.
  10. I showed up at 6:20 this morning (polls opened at 6:30) waited in the rain for about 15 minutes then about 10 minutes inside and I was done. I was shocked at home many district judges I had to vote for. I should have done a little more prep, I only read the packet they sent on the state offices. How are things moving in your neck of the woods?
  11. also in the minority here, I like king of the hill or I guess I should say I used to like king of the hill. i don't really keep up with it anymore but in its prime, bobby hill was hilarious.
  12. top or bottom?
  13. my old stomping grounds...ahhh do i miss this place, actually got to go there for the jacksonville and oakland games. i enjoy sitting while watching the game so we get there early and get a good table. definitely a fair weather crowd (remember some late season games when it was pretty dead) but since things are good now, it's crazy. for a bills fan in boston i think it is a must to catch the games at the harp. (insider tip - the blonde waitress with the glasses is the best, sit at her table if possible) fyi - it's a restaurant so you don't have to be 21, we avoided the place in college because we didn't think we could get in. side note - when things are good the "talent" is usually pretty good, nice viewing during commercials...
  14. I thought they updated the fan conduct policy and no longer would allow me to walk in sideways?
  15. Pretty sure if you go to the stop light at the center of Brant and yell "tater" once or twice, he'll come strolling out his front door...
  16. Will be there, 6th or 7th year in a row...too many to remember. EndZoneCrew and taterhill used to go but they are old and married now... Where is BluFin?
  17. I studied abroad in Melbourne from July to December 1999. It was awesome to say the least. A few pieces of advice: -Take a light course load (I had classes 2 days a week, allowing me to travel a ton or just enjoy a 5 day weekend...every week) -Try to distance yourself from your fellow Americans (I lived in a place that had students from all over the world and a bunch of Australians and even though I went with 2 good friends from college, I tried to hang out with the other people as much as possible, plenty of time to hang out with your friends when you get back home. -If you go to Australia, travel as much possible, most likely you won't be getting back there anytime soon (I've seen more of Australia than I have of the US.) -You need a ton of money...you will not want to (or in my case) be able to say no to anything. If someone says "Let's go to the Great Barrier Reef for the weekend" you want to be able to say yes. -Try to figure out how many/what "big" trips you want to do ahead of time so you have those budgeted and possibly even have flights ahead of time. If you do go to Australia, feel free to drop me a line and I can give you some more specific advice.
  18. Stupid me, assuming we were talking CI and not local to Buffalo, thanks for straightening me out.
  19. How did the Carlton Blues do this year? I lived in Carlton for 6 months so that's my squad.
  20. I haven't been able to catch any games yet, most of the away games last year were in HD on the opponent's feed.
  21. Curt's Stop In on Route 5, best curly fries ever from Dave and the gang...
  22. they lost me after the line where it said the big difference between Bush and McCain was that Bush was a better pilot, is this what it is like in the PPP world?
