  1. If you could get a high 2nd round pick you would have to take it. Matt is great but he can’t stay on the field and as he gets older injuries are easier to come by. I think Dorian Williams can be an adequate replacement while a young drafted LB develops .
  2. That’s the problem with our brain trust, they keep fielding a “bend don’t break”, reactive defense with just average athleticism. We never get enough pressure to rattle good QBs, we never disrupt receivers at the line and give free releases that our mediocre secondary can’t cover. Our best LBs are often injured(Milano, Bernard) and it’s time to take a big swing. Beane and Sean are not great with defensive personnel. They think they have an all time great at QB and that will be enough if we surround him with a decent O -line and some good weapons. For most of our schedule it should be enough, but to bring a championship to Buffalo our defense must be dominant. When we went to SBs, our defense was dominant. When we won AFL championships, our defense was dominant.
  3. Here’s the problem with Beane, he’s got us in cap purgatory and there is one special player on our entire defense, Oliver. He keeps running it back with unproductive or injury prone players. Epenesa. Von, Jones, Hamlin, Rapp, Phillips, Milano. We don’t get consistent pressure against top QBs and it’s bend don’t break and let’s win shootouts. If we can’t assemble a more impactful defense through the draft and 2nd tier FAs, there will be other teams catching up with us and the Chiefs, Ravens, and Eagles being there every year.We will have to pay Cook, Shakir and Rousseau and drafting way back. He’s painted himself into a corner.
  4. Sean isn’t going anywhere. He had a great year and ownership and Beane love him. With Josh being a Sean advocate he’ll be here for the foreseeable future. In his defense his in game coaching decisions showed improvement and with a few additions we might be able to win a championship with him. Stranger things have happened.
  5. We have to use draft choices to improve the roster because that’s what teams want. The idea of getting a starter on rookie deals is appealing to every GM. We need a proven difference maker at the edge rusher position to make us more impactful vs great QBs. Our other needs can be accomplished with 2tier FAs or the draft.
  6. The linesman with the best view ran in a yd past the line to gain. All of a sudden the linesman from the other side comes running in 3/4 of a yd behind the other linesman but still past the line to gain. All of a sudden the ball is placed a foot behind the worst potential placement. The big question is why did the linesman with the best view defer to the other lineman to such a large degree. There are many credible sports talk personalities who noticed this phenomenon and voiced their opinion of a totally blown call on the biggest play of a championship game.( Mad Dog, Adam Shein, Greg Costello, J.Mac from the Herd) It’s over now but objective observers know the weakness of officiating can and determine outcomes.
  7. Hey BangARang, who he was in college was the leading receiver on an undefeated FlaSt. team with 11TDs, 50 receptions for just under 600 yds in 12 games. Just bury the 33rd choice in the draft after his rookie season where he was injured on a cheap shot. Both that play and the PI against Baltimore was the biggest play of a division playoff win. Sometimes it takes a few years for receivers to get productive. Look at the Marvin Harrison Jrs stats. He had 800 yds with 8 TDs in 3 more games than Keon. Keon had 4 TDs, averaged 20 yds a reception and 30 catches in 13 games. for just under 600 yards. If Keon was playing hurt the last 4 games I think any objective observer would give him a.pass for a not being a top receiver after his rookie year.
  8. You’re still being premature and write off everyone if you like. Just remember when these young guys start ballin, you pounded the table to dump 1st rd drafted guys after a bad rookie or 2nd yr season on a team that went to the AFC championship. The knee jerk reaction to falling short of the SB is similar to the silliness writing off Josh after going 6 and 11 his first season. I’m sure you know how easy it is to replace these guys.
  9. Everyone knows that 4th down mistake by the linesman was a game changer. We could have been playing Sunday but I know this team with Josh will have our time. Go Eagles
  10. Kincaid will be better, Brady didn’t scheme for him and after he was hurt Josh lost trust in him. He’s got too much talent not to be very productive. He catches that last desperation Josh fling, we’re talking about him differently. Coleman is a rookie that doesn’t separate but can high point 50/50 balls and is a big red zone target. He’s got a great resume from Mich St and Fla St and wants the ball in big spots. Give him a pass for a bad game in his 1st postseason.
  11. Pete your negativity is silly. Josh torches everyone in dome conditions. Remember the Rams and Lions game. He scored on every possession. Coleman is a rookie in his first postseason.. He’s got talent but is learning the NFL. You want to bury a rookie? Josh admitted he didn’t give Kincaid the right ball placement and enough targets to advance his role. He’s also been hurt for weeks. We score 30 against everyone. Shakir, Hollins, Cooper, Cook and Johnson out of the backfield. If our defense plays better, I like our chances.
  12. Can you remember what Josh did against the Rams and the Lions in dome conditions? He was unstoppable. Now the Lions were decimated on defense but LA was a stout defense and we shredded them. Last week we scored 29 against KC and against the Broncos who were a top defense, Josh destroyed them. Every game is different and and you will look back on your post about Kincaid and Coleman next season and realize a rookie and a 2nd year talent sometimes takes a postseason or two to become great. Josh scores 30 against everyone.
  13. The Bills always score 30. They did it last year and got beat by 60 yd FG at the gun against Philly.
  14. No way they let Ty go. He’s much to productive as a 3rd down playmaker both running and out of the backfield creating mismatches. Josh loves him and we used him perfectly. He won’t too expensive and he wants to be here.
  15. You bring in a primary target and you stunt the development of Kincaid, Coleman and use up cap space for the defense that has secondary and edge rusher needs.
  16. Josh has good enough receivers to win championships right now. Consider, Kincaid was just OK this year, so with an offseason and a chip on his shoulder to prove something, he should put up big #s and Brady will make him a big part of the offense. Coleman will only get better when Josh adjusts to his skill set. Shakir is as solid as any slot receiver in football and Samuel was productive in a limited role but we’ve got to use him better because he was not nearly as reliable as he was as a primary target.. Finally, with Cook,Johnson and Davis the mismatches are plentiful coming out of the backfield. With these weapons the acquisitions should be all on defense.
  17. Sounds right and we desperately need a FA hard hitting safety or edge guy. Someone who can provide leadership for all these young guys.
  18. Got to be concerned with entire secondary. Benford had two rapid fire concussions. That situation makes his future tenuous with him leading with his head so much. Douglas is gone and Rapp can’t stay healthy. The rookie we drafted looked like a deer in the headlights at safety, so we’re desperately in need of FAs and quality draft choices to stabilize the back end.
  19. Loved Kemp and as a little boy connected with football with that team at the rock pile. In fairness though, it was the HOF caliber defense that won us championships in the old AFL. Kemp was a Bart Starr type of QB with a better arm.He had an awesome O-line with bruising RBs and some speedy receivers. He could run when necessary but his arm talent and elusiveness can’t be compared to Josh. Kelly’s no huddle offense took the NFL by storm. Calling plays at the line before the defense could adjust , made us unbelievable. His leadership and instincts for picking defenses apart was as good as an QBs in history. Kemp had 3 good years at the end of his career with Buffalo, can’t be compared with Kelly and Josh.
  20. Bottom line, no age limit for NFL officials. Tony Corrente retired in his 70s.a couple years ago. Blakeman, the head official in Bills-Chiefs is 60. Not saying it can’t be done by guys in their 60s but your eyesight, flexibility, upper body strength and endurance are diminished and these guys are not tested for the conditioning needed to manipulate 300lb players in frigid temperatures. Did you think that game was officiated properly? What is the argument?
  21. Sounds like an obvious solution. The problem is the NFL will not admit to a placement being wrong because that would mean they are determining the outcome of a game with a flawed process. Then people will start thinking that a home crowd could influence this arbitrary system of placing the ball. Also why are two referees running into the play on different yard lines and one is deferring to the other. As we all know once a call is made it’s usually not changed.
  22. The gambling angle is one of reasons why the referees would be so obviously incompetent. I don’t think they’re being compromised by betting interests but the system for ball placement promotes inaccuracy and the fact that they rarely change the call on the field diminishes the ability to change it with replays. It’s amateurish to ask elderly men stationed 20 yards from the ball to accurately place the ball which is camouflaged by 6 or 8 football players. It’s the easiest way to determine the outcome of a game.
  23. The Chiefs won and Bills fans complaining about officiating is a bad look. Unfortunately the ball placements by these old guys, 20 yds away and camouflaged by 8 monstrous humans was obviously poor and lends itself to a bias accusation or at best just incompetence. Advancements in technology used in other sports coupled with the NFL’s undeniable connection to sports betting makes you wonder why team owners won’t call for a better system to give the game more credibility. The call denying Buffalo of the 1st down at the end of the game before KC kicked the winning FG was a game changing mistake that any objective observer could see and taints the outcomes of the biggest game of the year. If you’re going to push betting so hard like the NFL does, you would hope that Goodell would at least make a statement acknowledging the mistake and say they will explore a better system for placements.
  24. Immediately if not sooner. He’s washed. Congrats on a great career.
