  1. Thanks Beef ... I was indeed a Bills fan before Wade arrived... have been since I was about 11 (1990 or so) ...so went through the ecstasy and agony of the 4 superbowls, which nearly destroyed me as a youth. I had no fellow bills fans to turn to either as most of my mates thought I was mad watching NFL over the English football league (soccer). Which is why I love this board!
  2. Cheers OP. As a UK resident I take great interest in Wade and his development, so happy for any snippets. One thing I do take from the article (and I'm maybe way off on this) ... is that Moss has potentially gained a better understanding of the playbook than Singletary had by this time last year... or why would Singletary not have been able to help bring along Wade's development to the same degree in the rookie room last year? Or maybe Moss is just a better communicator or closer to Wade than Motor was. Or maybe the season should just start now so we can stop over analysing everything!!
  3. How has Epenesa looked according to Joe B and Matt Fairburn? I havent heard any news regarding him elsewhere as yet. Thanks in advance.
  4. Without wanting to start a new thread for this (this one seems the most relevant currently)...can someone please post some insight from the Eric Washington article on buffalonews (behind paywall). The headline I saw was that the DL would 'take sacks to the next level in 2020'. If anyone can shed light on his quotes that would be appreciated. I was intrigued as to what he had to say. Thanks in advance.
  5. Hard not to love this guy... his answer on learning from Gore was spot on and 'you can tell Josh has been in the lab' ! ... just start the season now please.
  6. Sorry in advance if this is posted in one of the other Allen threads.... In this article (linked below) Allen talks about how a conversation with Tony Romo on throwing mechanics has really helped him so far this offseason. Which is great, but all I can think of when I read this is ... What on earth is he gaining from all this time spent with Jordan Palmer?! This sounds like basic enough stuff from Romo which he probably got from him in 15 minutes... I've never heard him talk about such a significant stride when he talks about the Palmer camps. Would he be better served spending his off seasons elsewhere? Maybe getting exposure to a few different coaches or veteran quarterbacks? 7. He's saying all the right things anyway... like an earlier poster mentioned, it's taken me a while to warm to Daboll, but i'm coming around, plus the rest of the staff and the team seem to really like and respect him. Yolo - thanks as ever for collating all of this, it's greatly appreciated.
  8. Never been to a Bills game unfortunatley (I live in Northern Ireland) it's a dream of mine to go someday, and i joke to my wife regulalry that we will retire to Buffalo, or somewhere close, when the kids flee the nest etc. Well it started as a joke, i think she's developing some interest now so i am going to stick at it! I made it to the just outside the stadium during a summer holiday in the early 90s with my parents when i was about 13, which i'll never forget - didn't see anything or anyone, as it was the offseason, but just to be in the vicinity as a kid, I was in awe. I'll get there someday for the real thing, that's gauranteed, and I can't wait. Go Bills!!
  9. I'd say that's quite common, i'm nearly sure Zack Moss referred to Beane as coach on their call.
  10. I would agree with most of the earlier posters that say we're better than last season's group and add that the new DLine coach Washington should also be a positive addition that will hopefully boost the position group.
  11. Worth taking a risk on I say... he's got big play potential and cant be any less productive than Yeldon.
  12. I think I'll give it another off season before concluding they've done a poor job. The offence was terrible 2 seasons ago and was never going to become above average in one off season. It did show some improvment last year due to some smart additions in FA and acquiring singletary in the draft was a good move for now and the future. This off season needs to focus on bringing in high quality at some key positions on the offence, not just numbers, I'll defer judgement until the start of next season.
  13. I'm assuming this is speed tracked in a game situation rather than them coming to training and asking them to do a timed sprint, if so the top speed measurement depends a great deal on game context, i.e. has Dawson Knox been in a situation where he has caught the ball in space and has had the chance to open up and sprint for more yards? I cant remember too many instances of this for Knox. He was usually wrapped up quickly or fighting (very effectively at times) against tacklers for more yards. Just my take.
  14. That's correct. 5 hours unless daylight saving.
  15. Exactly...this cant be fair either way. I'm all for London games as it's a short trip for me and I would love to see the Bills live in London next season... But I dont think divisional games in London work at all.
  16. I see Watson is rested for the Texans tonight. Only a snap or 2. Are they resting many other starters? And is fuller definitely out for next week?
  17. Yip. All on the first drive.
  18. I've got it for my son, who's 10 this Christmas in the hope that the Bills are now good enough to make the gameplay enjoyable/manageable for him without having to play as a higher rated team to enjoy it - I couldn't possibly allow that! Madden 1990 is the reason I'm a Bills fan … I'm hoping he follows the same journey, he's taken more interest over the past couple of years and will be watching tomorrow night when Ed Oliver sacks Brady 3 times and we beat the pats!! Go Bills!
  19. That was superb. The in studio team on the UK broadcast were all about Dallas in the build up and during the 1st quarter.... how satisfying it was to witness their realisation that this Bills team are for real. Bring on the Ravens! Go Bills Happy Thanksgiving to you all from across the pond.
  20. Duke inactive again... was hoping he could be used a bit today to help the offense. Anyway... GO BILLS! Interested to see if this week's talk translates to a more open offensive performance.
  21. Locked on Bills for me... fits in nicely on the morning commute and Joe Marino gets straight into the content without any filler. All credit to him for his 5 days a week service. Also enjoy The Buffalo Beat as a once per week podcast. Podcasts like these allow the far away fan feel closer to what's going on with Bills and they are much appreciated. Long may they last.
  22. The following is not my take btw, heard it on a podcast this morning and it made sense... Our defense is limiting the opposition to so many 3 and outs, plus our pass defense is so stifling. This means that our D is facing fewer plays per game, and fewer high risk plays, therefore we have fewer opportunities to make interceptions etc. compared with other defenses.
  23. The breakfast in bed wasn't for her benefit... it was for mine, and the Bills! I'm trying everything possible to build up all the credit I can so the football gods will shine on us later!!
  24. I'm in the same timezone as Gunner... up a few hours ago... Lego building with the 6 year old... made wife breakfast in bed... told her I'll do whatever she wants me to do round the place until 5pm this evening, after that... I'm off the clock and don't even think about peeling me away from the screen. Mixture of nervousness and excitement for this one... I'm preparing myself for disappointment but a thread of hope lingers strong... so LETS GO!!
  25. If we lose that week 17 game to a late ficken field goal I'll throw the TV out the ficken window.
