With TJ Carrie visiting with the Bills then signing with the Colts again... do you think, in the time he spent talking to Bills recruiters/coaches, he would have gained any key insights into the fine detail of how the Bills defensive scheme works? Information that would be used by the Colts offence next time we play? Genuine question as I'm not sure what format these visits take or what gets talked about.

Why can't Brandon Beane get the defense right?
NI Bills Fan replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Given how close Beane and McDermott work, I'm not sure any defensive players would be recruited by Beane without the seal of approval from McDermott.- 164 replies

Yes I'll take a damn good QB for the next 10+ years thankyou very much over the fun, every time. Another bonus of having a QB when it comes to the draft (these days) is that premium talent in other positions fall down the board as QB needy teams over stretch to find 'the guy'. Here's hoping one of those premium talents fall all the way to 30. At CB or DE please!

Pats for me, home or away... hit them early before all those new pieces get a chance to gel. Not that I think that they'll be a massive threat in 2021, but I'll take any advantage we can get.

Dean Marlowe visiting Lions (update - signed)
NI Bills Fan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Marlowe has now signed with the Lions. Quite surprising this one... thought for sure he'd be back. They must have a plan in place to replace him in FA or the draft as the safety depth is far from deep. -
Seems logical... we needed speed in the backfield and we now have it, and hopefully on a cheap 1 year prove it deal. Can he return kicks or punts? (Serious question!)

Thanks Doc. Potentially excellent value. Also good news from a TV coverage standpoint for UK based Bills fans I think... the sky sports coverage often talked up Obada and had him on for a few interviews throughout last season. Having him and (maybe) Wade on the roster next season will mean plenty of Bills related discussion and hopefully live games.

Have the financials been published for this signing as yet? Apologies if its posted somewhere already. I havent seen it as yet. Thanks.

Thanks yolo for posting, Greg Thompsett has been, for me, the best Bills reporter/podcaster when it comes to cap and roster construction this offseason and probably a few before it. Always a good listen.

An excellent upgrade at the backup QB. Which was much needed. And an even nicer contract. Fine work Beane.

I'd agree with that. Keep him, but keep the cap hit as low as possible for 2021. You could likely get a better guard for just slightly more than $4-5M but what you gain in quality you likely lose in positional flexibility and the continuity/familiarity a returning Feliciano gives this O line. Get him back.

Updated cap is $182.5 million
NI Bills Fan replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That is always the figure i was used to hearing however Gregg Thompsett (Cover 1 Buffalo podcast) did a good job of explaining it in more detail recently. The figure required is actually much lower than that. I cant remember exactly but I think less than $3m against the cap due to most of the draft class being at the lower end of the salary scale and not counting against the cap. (EDIT: The rule of 51 as explained more elegantly by YattaOkasan below) -
I would agree, if the article was suggesting that the Bills had emerged as THE favorite. The title is very misleading however and should have read 'Bills emerging as one of the favorites'. There're really no new news in that article. Maybe the picture becomes clearer toward the end of this week.

Joe B article speculates John Brown will be cut
NI Bills Fan replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Joe Marino also mentioned he thought the Bills might well move on from Brown in his podcast (Locked on Bills) earlier this week. -
Can it just be Saturday already ... I was off work last week and had time to read/watch every single bit of analysis/build up and the week seemed to go so slowly. Back to work this week, so thought to myself the week will go a bit quicker with distractions ... here I am though, ignoring work and knee deep in game build up again! Feel a bit more nervous for this one compared to the Colts game, but I keep coming back to the very simplistic logic that: 1. We did a decent job on Lamar last time around (from memory, haven't went back and checked the stats) so can limit them points wise to a manageable degree. 2. We have the QB and weapons to score points against anyone. 3. The playoff win jitters should be gone and we can play loose. Go Bills, can't wait.

Kick his ass T Bass!! 1. We picked the better rookie kicker over Blankenship. 2. Beane made the right decision in dropping Hauschka. All... gooood

Me too bud ... it just happened ... couldnt help it. But f**k it...it was beautiful.

I think it's fair to say we may not have won that game without Gabe's toe drag swag today. Game ball Gabe!

Singletary IS Moss ... William's over Yeldon for me. He gives us a bit of burst plus yards after contact... IF the Miami game is to be believed. If Moss is injured is the big takeaway for me is that thank God we dont rely on the run the run game
