That is an about as good a schedule as you can hope for.
Third easiest schedule in the league (supposedly), open with two on the road but they're in the same stadium, BIG stretch of home games after that, a Turkey Day game, no prime time games, and our division rival games are all spaced pretty evenly apart. The ONLY nit I could pick with our schedule is that the bye week is too early.
In the end, I just feel bad for the Bills players: They have to spend the first two weeks of the season in NEW JERSEY. Yuck. ?I like that the bye week is on the early side. Gives the team a chance to address performance issues. Last year it was late and worthless.

I might be in the minority here but I like the bye on the early side. Gives the team a chance to fix issues. Last year it was late and worthless.

Stay at 9. Move to 21 (Seahawks) to get Wilkins or Lawrence when we take Hock or J Taylor at 9.
If we take Oliver at 9, move to 28 (Chargers) to get Fant or Marquis Brown depending who is available. Don’t think Metcalf will be there.

I put Giants. Rematch of the Super Bowl since they are doing the 100 year history stuff.
-
I wonder if this helps the Bills move up in late 1st round. Seattle only has 4 picks. It stands to reason they need some cap friendly contracts but fresh talent.
-
I thought it can’t be against the Pats.

He won't be
If he's who they want they need to take him
This is correct.
I think there is a 50/50 chance he may not be there at 9.

So I don't know who subscribes to The Athletic, but I stumbled onto this massive draft guide by Dane Brugler he calls "The Beast" because he takes 10 months to put it together after starting in June.
He actually ranks the prospects and has pretty detailed descriptions about each one. Here's what he said about Hockenson (and notice where he ranks him).
GRADE: 1st Round (#6 overall)Those who think we could trade back several spots and land Hock are crazy. He might not even be there at 9.

Offense at 9. Move up late 1st and get DT.
Hock
then Lawrence or Wilkins
then best OLine
then RB
then DT
WR

Take Hock at 9 and trade up to get Lawrence or Wilkins.
If if for some reason QW is there take him and trade up for Fant or M. Brown.
I just saved Beane a lot of time. You are welcome.

I wouldnt mind SImmons as our 2nd round pick. Great value there.
I dont disagree. But what you say is only part of it. Cant be dogmatic prior to the draft - need to be flexible. The pick depends on how the draft unfolds. For example, if Bosa, Q. Williams or Josh Allen (DE) were available at 9, wouldnt you take em regardless of current needs on Offense? Especially given we have addressed most offense needs in FA.
You are right. If one of those 3 miraculously were available I would support taking them.

So the team that fielded one of the worst offenses in NFL history for most of last season should give up premium picks to move up for an interior defensive lineman in a draft that is absolutely stacked with defensive line talent? People just never learn.
Absolutely agree. I’m okay with moving up late in round 1 to get Lawerence or Wilkins but it’s got to be offense at 9. And subsequent picks after addressing D-Line should be offense.

IF the Bills were to take an OL with their first pick this year then I would expect it to be Jawaan Taylor over Jonah Williams because of his demeanor, and to me his talent.
Go Bills!
I think Cody Ford or Risner would kill for Josh. I don’t think Taylor will be an option but if we are considering taking OL I would be tempted to take Ford over Williams.

I’m trying to warm up to him, but he just looks small and dumpy and rather unathletic for a high draft pick. He is much lighter than ideal, arms shorter than ideal, a shade shorter than ideal and did not wow anyone with his measureables at the combine.
For sure he played well in college, but will that translate to the NFL against bigger, stronger, faster opponents?
I agree. I would be temped take Cody Ford over Williams if Taylor was gone.
-
We take Hock regardless unless a miracle happens and Williams falls to 9.
if we take Hock, trade up to late 1st and get Wilkins or Dexter. If we get super lucky and get Q we trade up to late first again and take M. Brown or Fant.
If we take J Taylor at 9 I’m okay with that too.

I hope it is a little like last year. We take an offensive talent at 9 (AJ) and trade up in the late 1st round to get Wilkins or Lawrence.
What would it take to get Seattle’s or Chargers first round pick?
-
We take Hock and then trade with Seattle to get Dexter Lawrence.
-
I would take the over for the Bills and the under for the Packers.
-
Get Hock at 9. Trade to get two picks in the second to get Dexter Lawerence and Harry.
-
Give your version of the best case scenario for the upcoming draft. Aim high but be fairly realistic. Focus on just the first three rounds maximum. Trade up, trade down, stay put or some combination of all.

Trade back - Hock
Trade up - DK
two 1st round grabs to help our offense... lets do it
I just don’t think Hock will get past 12. If we truly want him we should just take him at 9.
-
I don’t want the Bills to trade back. They don’t need to. We will get a great non- QB player.
But if if we do trade back I want their second round pick no matter what. Case closed.
