Do we stay put at #40 or do a little horse trading to either move up a few to ensure we get our next target or try and get a 2nd pick in Rd 2?

I wanted Hock but this is next best thing. Good job Beane for staying patient and getting a little lucky.

Isn't that why we signed a truckload of o-line in FA?
A couple of those guys are on 1 year deals. Need some young talent for depth and grow with JA.

Has to be a WR in round 2 or this draft goes down to a C. Really blew an opportunity there at the end of round one with teams looking to deal
Maybe the 2 or 3 guys they want are still there. No need to use up draft capital yet.

I have ZERO patience for a thread like this. I guess I’m off to a bad start.

Bills pick 9 – Bills trade down to Redskins at pick 15, they receive a second round pick 46.
Bills pick 15 – Noah Fant, TE, Iowa – Bills want to build around Josh Allen and this is a way to do it. Hockenson goes early, and they want to add as many targets as they can for Allen. Fant is a guy that can spread the field and get open. Bills land an additional second round pick but they may not be done in round 1.
Bills trade pick 40 and pick 46 to move back into the first round trading with Oakland Raiders pick 24.
Bills pick 24 – Christian Wilkins, DT, Clemson – Bills lost Kyle Williams and Christian Wilkins is a Sean McDermott guy. Many have the Bills selecting Ed Oliver, but I do not feel he is a guy that will get along very well with McDermott and company. Wilkins is a mover and a shaker and I feel he will dominate for the Bills next to Star and Harry for years.
Bills pick 74 – Tytus Howard, OT, Alabama – The Bills love mean and gritty lineman and this guy is the best one in the draft. He could go way higher than this pick, but I am going to stick to my guns and keep him to the Bills at pick 74. Bills like the kid and worked him out at his pro day.
Not a huge fan of trading down but I would be pleased with this scenario.

Joe Buscaglia just released his last mock and there's some Bills fireworks in there

How could you not take Allen in that scenario.

Harry or Risner after #9.

Drops WAY too many balls to be taken seriously in the first. I like the kid, but late 2nd-Early third is where I'll leave him.
MANY legit draft analysts mocked him in the 1st round including Peter King. So yes, I took him seriously.

Cautionary tale for this year. Maybin. #11 in 2009.

I agree with Greg G. Right or wrong I think 4 go in the top 15. Hopefully a least 2 before 9.
But no trading back please.

Getting Fant is possible late 1st.

I want him at 9 if he is still there. A week ago I would have said there is an 80% to 90% chance he is there. Sounds like it is 50/50 now.
Bills better have a plan c since there is a good chance Hock and Oliver are not there.

I just don’t see AZ giving up Murray. Not with what has been observed with Mahommes and Mayfield. And I certainly hope it does not happen. Don’t need another possible stud QB in the AFC.

I would bet Metcalf if this is true.

I find it difficult to target any one person for missing Mahommes. It was a time of transition. Easy for things to get missed. I was lukewarm on Mahommes and Watson and didn’t think much of it at the time when we didn’t draft them.
If anything, blame ownership for not getting the new GM in place prior to the draft. But maybe that was out their control.
i think the lesson here is don’t trade down a top 10 pick. Also, I think the mantra of always picking BPA in the top 10 - 15 is ridiculous. You understand your biggest weakness and address it. Keep your pick and get the guy who can make a great impact where you need it. Unfortunately, the Bills have a lot of places to get much better this year.

Nate Peterman single handily wins the Super Bowl for the Patriots when Brady gets knocked out for the season in week 2.

The only thing I don't like is the early bye week.
I'm thinking 10-6 all day long!
I like the early bye. Gives the team a chance to address problems in time to save the season if necessary. Last year the bye came late and was worthless.

The big Apple. NYC. I know it is technically NJ.

I’m good with DK and Wilkins.

I really do not want to trade up for Oliver. If he is there at 9 then fine.
Still would rather focus on offense.

On the bright side Butler, Campbell, AJ Brown and of course DK are still available. I’m sure 2 of those guys will be there at 40. That’s not nothing.
The Patriots could have picked Robert Kraft’s massage therapist and it still would have freaked us out.
