While he has been GREAT in 2 games...who says Mahomes is a sure thing? It appears to be trending that way but look at Watson...amazing last year...not so much this year. It takes several years to evaluate. If you are going to use a certain approach to your logic in evaluating players you should do it consistently for all players.

Actually they ARE being disciplined by not trying to spend a ton on 1 or 2 players while there are so many other holes that need to be addressed. This is a rebuild. Get over it!

It does seem that way to me as well. I assume most people are happy when they get to be "right" about something they have been harping on. I'm not aware of this guy but if he was down on Allen before the draft, it's not surprising that he is excited to be "right" about Allen struggling.

I was irritated during the game at some of the things that happened (just how BAD the D looked again (in the first half)) but I think at this point I'm in preseason mode with the team...I'm really just interested in seeing Allen get reps and for the team to start competing more. I think after the start they've had and the remaining schedule it is going to be a long season but I am excited to see if/how Allen develops the most.

Agreed. But seriously I get it that offensive coaches are the present and future but McD is going into game 2 of season 2 and fans are calling for his head. I am not saying you are. But I do think talent can mask things. It just seems too easy to blame coaching failures on coaching backgrounds. Coaching is more than background...its about connecting with players and getting buy-in too. I think in his short time McD has gone a long way toward getting that. Once more talent gets here...assuming it does...it will be easier to judge his performance regardless of his background.

That still doesn't support the argument the D-minded head coaches won't succeed. What has McVay done exactly? The Rams are LOADED with talent...which is to your point about BB having the goat at QB. My point is that where the coach cut his teeth is not the be all end all.
