think I'm good with not seeing Trent Murphy in a Bills uni anymore  Hughes not sure either way    Been a while since he had solid sack numbers

Hughes salary is guaranteed next year so you will be seeing him one more year at least..

There is simply no good reason to move on from Trubisky at this point. He’s playing poorly, but I believe it costs them cap space to cut or trade him.

Cam would be intriguing. I wonder if they could get him for something reasonable. If they could trade for him, his cap hit would be $19M, which is really not that much.

Move on from him as the Starter... Keep him as the backup if you need to get some value for the sunk cost..I have seen them several times this year including yesterday and I do not rate him at all..

Their fans are over him to say the least and they are wasting a good D..

I don’t know if they can get Newton or not but they need an experienced guy on that team to lead them in the short term..

I mean, how much do the Bears really need? They have $10M in space next year, and if they cut Prince Amakumara, they free up another $9M. They don’t have a first rounder rookie eating into that space either.

Really, the Bears are in fine shape. They need Mitch to get better or get another QB in that room. They can easily draft one in the second, like a Justin Herbert or Eason, sign a Fitzpatrick or a Bridgewater to compete, and EASILY compete in the NFC North next year.

They are gonna finish likely 8-8 or 7-9 after making the playoffs because their QB regressed and their offense got figured out a little bit. They aren’t 3-13 this year.

Not trying to sidetrack the thread, but the Bears have got to move on from Mitch T next year..

Herbert won’t be there in the 2nd so they need to scape up some money for a Tannehill  or Cam Newton..

In fact, I wouldn't be stunned to see the exact same "gameplan" next week. If the Bills come out half-stepping and the game vs the Jets turns out to be a loss that looks suspiciously similar to the one they took yesterday, I'm not going to worry about it and neither should you.

Jets game is now completely meaningless...

No one will be giving a rats arse about that game...

With the bounty of talent the Bills have drafted in the last 3 drafts, I would not hesitate to trade to the GMEN 2# 1's and a 2nd for the the #2 overall this year and draft Chase Young.  Chase is a generational talent and will be on rookie contract for 4 years.

You mightn’t hesitate to do this but there is no chance Beane does it... thankfully..

Doubt  that even get it done to move up from 25 to 2...

    A few points here.

    1. You're right and hardly anyone does it.

    2. The only reason anyone would do it is, if you think the % of scoring one two yard play, is greater than the % of you going to overtime and winning.

    3. Teams at home are way less likely to make that gamble than teams playing at home.

    BUT...

To me... what is the normmor what every team would do or the odds should be thrown out the window when you are playing the Patriots. The percentage of times THEY score when they have to go the length of the field is WAY above the average team. It's not even close. And it's been true for 20 years. They're incredible at it so the chances against them in OT, especially at home, is WAY different than any other team. So your chance of winning on one two yard play against them, versus taking your chances against them in their stadium in OT may be way different than any other team. I think it is. Now that I think about it, I think it's a no brainer BETTER chance of one play from the two yard line than beating the Pats in OT in New England, which would be in the 30 percentile.

thanks for your well thought out opinion which you are more than entitled too...Same as I am entitled to mine...

I would suggest we both might agree however that McD is pretty unlikely to go for 2 in that situation given the conservatism he displays so it’s pretty much a moot point . I think he would have been much more likely to have gone for it on the 4th and less than 1 on one of the earlier 4th Quarter drives when he punted, then go for 2 in this hypothetical situation..

In respect of coaches/teams  going for it generally in that situation... to be clear about my argument,  there are examples but as per my original point these as far as I can recall been  in pretty much unimportant game’s...If I have forgotten important games where this has happened then I am happy to be corrected...

Not really that important to us. We had no reason not to let it all hang out there today and to be super aggressive knowing that we are already clinched and never have an opportunity like this one.

Really? the game wasn’t important to us?

Too important to let it come down to a low percentage 2 pt play in my view..

No. I'm saying against any other team you likely go to overtime. Against them, maybe you go for the 50-50 chance of scoring the two.

I’ll take the 97 per cent chance to send it to OT by kicking the EP..

My point about the coin toss in OT is that if it goes your way, there is a chance the Pats never even touch the ball again..

Got ya. Yeah, it's rare. I'm not a conservative guy but I would rarely do it. But as I said just above because the Pats are so good at scoring when they need to and they get all the calls maybe it's smart to try to win on one play, especially because of the way Josh can run. This may have been exactly the time to buck the trend.

    Fair enough...

To me it’s like flipping a coin... Too much chance involved, and a bad way to lose..
