Ive changed my mind a few times over the past month, but I think they go with Peterman Week 1..
Im not down on Allen at all, and think that his play his preseason has been above my expectations, but I don't see what putting him out there to cop a beating for the first month or so will achieve...
Hopefully the OL looks a bit better around Week 7 or so and you can bring him in then for the rest of the year...

Yeah Bean needs to get on the phone with Oakland right now and get the deal for Mack done. Whatever it takes.
I know he is a quality player, but would he make much difference to the fortunes of this team?

He is not getting cut...

Unlike you to start a negative thread...

That's a hard no from me...

They need to be acquiring more talent across the field before the season starts.. not letting the few pieces of talent they have go for 6th rounders...
-
The whole starting OL is paid about $7Mil collectively...
The off season plan to improve was a couple of cheap unwanted scrubs in Bodine and Newhouse and a 5th round draft pick...
Should we really be surprised?

At least people aren't overeating to a meaningless game.
Would that help?

Remember when all we needed to do was draft a QB and that nothing else matters?
-
Third and 12.. no problem against this D...

They just traded for Benjamin half a season ago giving up a mid third and he has been injured since so I wonder what they would get for him now?
A fourth?
And what is any team giving up for no knees Clay?
-
How about we keep Benjamin and spend some of that cap space in free agency next year on some OL talent?

When he’s the Super Bowl MVP this year he’ll get the credit due to him.
So they are trading him back to the Eagles?
Hope they at least get a third..

That deal is much better for us than it is them. Obviously you want to hold off on the 1st being in 2020 because you think we’ll be a better team. The Raiders are going to want our 2019 1st since we’ll likely be starting a rookie QB and may not be a good team.
We are getting an elite player and are going to have to pay for that. If you were the Raiders, would you be happy with that deal?
On the Raiders forums they think they are getting 2 firsts and 2 seconds for him...
Fans think up unrealistic trade scenarios that always favours their team...
If he is traded I believe it will include a 2019 first + extras and I just don’t see Beane parting with that for the privilege of then paying him $110mil for 5 years..
-
Can’t see Beane giving up his first round next year and then paying him $100 mil plus..
Second 2019 and second 2020 and Hughes maybe but will that get it done?

He was probably so mad because he would have preferred to play Jax no doubt in the SB...
"
QuoteIt made me mad because Jacksonville had New England right where they wanted them. I was screaming at the TV in my office. When they knelt right before halftime, inside I was like, 'I'll never do that.' It fueled me. They could have least tried for a field goal. They took it out of their quarterback's hands, and they didn't give to their big back Leonard Fournette. I thought, 'If they lose this game, this is why.' Sure enough they would go on to lose the game

Our secondary over achieved last season, and we still ended up ranked middle of the pack. Outside of Hyde and Tre White the depth there is worrying.
You haven’t heard of Jordan Poyer?
He went Ok last year..

I recall a bit of hype about this guy in the lead up to the draft last year..
Exhibit A from La Confora
QuoteObi Melifonwu is arguably the best athlete in the 2017 NFL Draft. His metrics are world class across the board, and the versatile defensive back is less than a week away from cashing in on all of his hard work preparing for the most grueling and lengthy job interview of his life. He's about to accomplish something strikingly similar to what former college teammate Byron Jones, another freakishly athletic safety, achieved just two Aprils ago, when Jones went to the Dallas Cowboys with the 27th overall pick. Melifonwu appears on the cusp of becoming just the third player in the history of the UConn program to be taken in the first round of the NFL Draft.

Just can’t see Beane playing here...
Doesnt seem his style at all based on what we have seen the last year..

Why are we still talking about TT?
I think because he was a 6th Round pick so people trying to put some perspective around NP being wiped for being a 5th round pick...

Peterman was nearly flawless in his preseason start. All passing for a TD. Then the reality is that trademark tipped pass showed up.
Then I seen AJ get absolutely destroyed during his start.
I like Josh Allen. I want him to be the winner. If he start and lays an egg Peterman won't look as bad.
I thought AJ went Ok with the seconds in the first game, but unfortunately last game showed he moves like a mannequin which is not what we need right now..
Im hoping Josh continues to improve and can survive the first few games which will be tough..

As I said a few pages back... I don't expect NP to be the starter Week 1, but the way the OL is looking it wont be a surprise if he starts a few games throughout the year.
JA is a big guy but I think he might be in for a beating... Even Tyrod missed games the last three years behind better lines...
Lets all hope then that NP has improved since last year - he seems to have but we wont know for sure until we see him in a real game..

it would be so much more interesting if they broke down the draft classes from 3 years ago.
Wouldn't be happy reading for us...
