  1. lucky they were able to get from out of it on the cheap then and get at 5th round back in return
  2. Signing bo Signing bonus from the previous year. They saved $16m in 2018 as you can see the Browns paid him in the link I provided which was guaranteed... Yeah they offered him a contract of $5n a year plus incentives... back up money
  3. The cap hit that the Browns acquired from the Bills for Taylor was $16M including a Roster bonus of $6m that was due a week or so after they traded him.. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/cleveland-browns/cap/2018/ How Beane moved him for that price and pick 65 I'll never know That left Peterman as their only QB on the roster.. They bought in AJM to compete before the draft with Peterman and the as yet undrafted Rookie ... they were still sitting at 12 at that stage and didnt know who they were going to get.. in hindsight we can say they got their man but Horsehead Elway should have taken Allen at 5 so who knows who the Bills may have ended up with if he goes down that road.. hopefully not trading up for Rosen to beat the Cards or reaching for Mason Rudolph... Not sure Lamar was truly ever on their radar So AJM comes into camp and doesnt live up to expectations so they cut bait and trade him for a 5th to Gruden .. His cap hit to the Bills was $2m in 2018 and $2m in 2019.. I can live with that...
  4. You are a hard marker Weo.. They signed McCarron as an insurance policy after getting rid of Tyrods cap hit which I cant be bothered looking up but was excessive, and before the draft and picking JA ( which was obviously not a given)...
  5. Yeah there is a lot of QB movement and they need someone.. Just dont see them getting one of the best guys in the draft as they are coming from too low...nor can I see a big FA name moving there.... I can see them with Jimmy G, Carr or maybe even Matt Ryan after Atlanta drafts their guy, and whilst they are better than what they had this year, I think the Bills can deal with it...
  6. Not sure him going there moves the needle of them being a threat to the Bills ... They aren’t even on my radar until I see what they do at QB and there aren’t a lot of upgrades available that might end up there in my view...
  7. Zero sacks you say? Will fit in well with us then...
  8. Things could get a bit ruthless if you want to play some hard ball... Do you say to someone like Addison who is due $8M (including workout and Roster bonuses) that we are paying you $4Mil total take it or leave it or good luck playing out your last year with the Jaguars who might pay you $5M?
  9. I'm sure you are aware that the Rams current strategy is a gamble and probably more likely to fail then succeed ( only one team gets to win it all every year and you are compressing your chances of success into a smaller window then doing things the "conventional" way) ... Now, if the Bills copied this approach and it didn't succeed, would you accept that outcome? I know that you arent normally one to bring up previous other occasions when some Management decisions have not gone to plan....
  10. One thing this year has taught me ( in respect to JA) is that you are absolutely nothing without a Top 10 ( Top 5 even? ) QB and you really should be giving up a lot to acquire one or the chance to draft one... Now.. giving up 2 No 1's and change for Ramsay or Adams.. thats a different story in my view...
  11. Well... they don’t have a 4th round ...and I can’t see them waiting until the 5th to roll the dice given the value of the position to the team... If Milano moves on for more money, and they like someone else at 30 who they think they can replace him and can be a cost effective contributor for 4 years then why not take him? Its pick 30, not a top 10 pick
  12. They took a swing at that a few years back... Vosean Joseph I believe the fellas name was... Has been quiet to date though... last seen at Walmart... I would suggest with the value of this position to MCD’s defense that they are going to have to invest an early pick if Milano needs replacing which seems likely
  13. Then you will get to complain when they pick a LB at 30 to replace him....
  14. Well... as you said yesterday... the Rams coach and management think they have got an upgrade.... and their jobs actually depend on it unlike as scrubs here...
  15. He improved so much this past year, I dont know how fair it is to expect that he can improve much more... Hope he can though...
  16. Not so sure of this argument... Would it be Ok if they traded down from 30 to 33 and picked a guy there? If there is a guy they like thats there then pick him.. Its pick 30 not top 10...
  17. Do the Rams have a better chance of winning the SB in 2021 with Stafford ( then Goff )? Vegas seems to think so as they have reduced their odds from 18/1 to 13/1... There is no doubt that McVay has an ego you couldnt jump over, but he has delivered some results since he has been in the coaching role at the Rams.. I think we would all agree that he is not an idiot, however he has all his chips in now and his window for success is only 2-3 years.. 29 other teams ( at least ) arent going to win the Superbowl either in that time frame... Look .. I dont have a dog in this fight so I dont really care what happens ( provided on how it might effect the BIlls) ... but I just think its interesting to see if Stafford really has been a victim of circumstances of playing at a badly coached and managed team this past 10 years and if he was in a better situation he can show us all something. more... thats what I am interested in seeing...
  18. You realise that there is an element of a salary dump at work as well right? The price the Rams are paying is inflated because Goff's guaranteed money is terrible... As I said upthread... Im curious to see how Stafford goes with the Rams ( I expect them to be better), and Goff goes with the Lions ( I expect them to be worse..) but time will tell...
  19. Who is that player because I dont see him on the team now... although to be fair I dont see him on many other teams either... Back to the topic.. Matt Barkley ( and his wife) seem like good peeps but I'm about ready to see who else might be available to step into the role... I'm hoping Fromm might be the guy, although his development is no doubt been put behind schedule given the past year's disruptions...
  20. Personally I think Stafford is better but I will be watching both teams closely .... my prediction is that the Rams improve and the Lions get worse with their new QB’s ..
  21. On the other hand ... Detroit might have the no 1 pick in 2022... wouldn’t surprise me...
  22. I will be watching him closely this year in Detroit to see how many games he wins there...
