5th Year Option Pick Ups
Pokebball replied to Ed_Formerly_of_Roch's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd like to see 5th yr options by round picked. I bet it's quite a bit higher for first rounders. So maybe it's a good idea to trade up? -
[Name Only Title] Tua Tagovailoa

Probably at least 10 other priorities to address -
I think over is easy money. But I don't bet on my teams.

What a disgusting Offensive effort

Morse's head is up when Allen is making the protection calls. I'm not sure what you're getting at with this comment. -
"you'll never get an easier sack in this league" Booger didn't watch yesterday's game
-
Threw? Calling one of those a throw is rather generous

TEs? WR? OL? -
So we don't need WRs? So what would you draft/sign?

A rule tweek? (Regarding challenges)

I'd support the tweak that if a review is flippen obvious, let's reverse the call on the field. Until that starts happening, all other tweaks just don't matter. -
Their NT was pushing Morse back a few feet all day. The Raven's DL made our OL look pretty bad. I've been impressed with the progress of our OL over the past 3 or so games. The Bill's OL looked like they did our first or second game this year, or dare I say like last year's OL. They were the most disappointing unit in yesterday's game in my opinion.

Josh Allen - week FOURTEEN report card
Pokebball replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In my humble opinion, the times when the pocket didn't break down was the exception yesterday. The edges were runways straight to our QB. The offense as a whole just didn't execute. I'm so frustrated with the blocking on our screens and flat routes. These are badly needed against blitzes and our WRs and even TEs are constantly missing their blocking assignments. There was one yesterday where Beas was behind Singletary instead of out in front of him. The entire scheme on these is missing and missing badly. If I was an opposing DC, I'd blitz all the time until we get these fixed. -
Josh Allen - week FOURTEEN report card

This is where I am. Mistakes of teammates in a team sport snowball and impact the performance of all. -
The direction each QB is heading currently is significantly different. Baker came out hot and is faltering whereas Josh seems to be on a course of continued improvement.
-
I was a bit surprised when the first Q to Josh was about LJ. Then comes the second question, which again was about Lamar and the Raven's offense. I quit watching after that. I understand these questions to McD or one of the Bill's defensive staff/players. But to our QB, or any other offensive guy? Come on press.
-
It's hard to shake a negative. Josh is going to have to live with this for a bit longer and it'll take a lot more good passes to shake this stigma. it'll come.

Josh Allen month - star potential

Don't rush it man! You know I'm the biggest JA fan on the board. Too much too soon can kill it too. I'm gong to manage my expectations so as not to create disappointment for me. Cautious optimism... Six long and sustained drives. Three TDs, three FGs, no punts, winning the TOS. I like it. -
University of Wyoming amends to "Black 14"
Pokebball replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in College Football
Check out the book, The Black 14, written by Ryan Thorburn. Ryan's a good guy, a UW graduate, was the Univ of Colo beat writer for the Boulder newspaper when he wrote the book and is now the beat writer for the Eugene newspaper, covering the Oregon Ducks. Reader's digest version of the event. This occurred in 1969, when America was deep in it's racial strife. Wyo had a coach, Lloyd Eaton, who recruited a number of black athletes when many colleges/universities didn't. Under Eaton, Wyoming became a regular top 25 program. In 1968, Wyoming's only loss came to LSU in the Sugar Bowl. BYU was in the WAC and was coming to town. You may know that the LDS Church didn't allow blacks to become priests and this year many of the schools BYU was playing were protesting BYU and the LDS Church. One of the ways included the football players wearing armbands during the games. Activists were following many events at the time, including the BYU football team. Activists arrived in Laramie early the week of the game trying to stir things up. Eaton told his players to stay out of these politics and not to bring any of it into the program A handful of the black players approached Eaton asking if they could wear armbands. He told them no. Later that week, 14 of our black players asked to talk to Eaton. Eaton tore into them and threw all of them off the team. Eaton was a very strict authoritarian, to the degree of being an ####### anytime anyone crossed him. The UW President was called in. he called in the Board of Trustees who called in the Governor. They ultimately decided to back Eaton's decision. This destroyed the Wyoming football program for the next decade. Eaton ended up getting fired the following year, going 1-9. The ASUW (student senate) purchased and placed a memorial in the UW student union probably 6 or 8 years ago. A couple of the Black 14 members came to campus and spoke then. This fall was the 50th anniversary of the event and Wyoming invited all of them to Laramie to be recognized. I think all but one was able to make it. I was able to attend the event. There was a lot of reconciliation happening and this was truly a great event, and might I say long over due. -
Dak Prescott had 300+ yards game!

The Raven's game might put the Bills in a situation requiring Allen to throw more than he has just to stay in the game. If the Bills D limits the Ravens from scoring, however, you can be sure Daboll will be using as much clock as he can on offense to keep the Baltimore O off the field and limit the Raven's possessions. Personally, I don't think we want to get into a shootout with Baltimore. -

Late 4th quarter drive for the game winning TD, Allen to Beasley!
