FilthyBeast has to be sick to his stomach that Carr is about to make $40M/year considering he feels that Josh’s contract was a bad contract. This exercise very clearly proves that Josh getting $43M/year was a steal. Although anyone with a brain knew lesser QBs were going to get inflated deals.

However, the QCC doesn't really do much coaching at all. They spend all day multitasking, breaking down film up to five weeks in advance and analyzing data. They work all hours, in hotel lobbies, on airplanes and at their team's headquarters producing reports for their Head Coach. They do get to do some coaching though. The QC coaches often run the "Scout" team in practices. From their extensive film work and breaking down plays, the QCC can be a great help preparing their team because they know the tendencies of their opponents. They make sure the Scout teams give the starters an accurate look at what they'll face on Sunday in practice during game weeks.

Lawson has been injury prone dating back to his time at Auburn. He’s been in the NFL for 5 seasons and has played 2 full seasons. If we signed Lawson and he tore his Achilles you’d be throwing an absolute fit blaming Beane. Something about how he spent too much money on an injury prone player. Ingram had 1 sack in 9 games for KC… Originally talking about FA… not trades during the season. Hendrickson was the only guy that can seriously be considered an impact guy. My whole point is that those true impact guys don’t grow on trees. You’re looking at Von Miller and Trey Hendrickson that made a serious difference for their teams. Judon faded down the stretch but is a great player… I’d fit him into that category too. Otherwise I’m not seeing anyone that was a significant upgrade over Addison, Hughes, Rousseau, Obada. Especially at the cost it took to acquire Lawson, Okwara, etc. Reminder: You’re the one who said there were 6-7 impact pass rushers available this off-season.

The news that Patrick Graham has left the New York Giants DC post to take over as the Las Vegas Raiders DC, despite Daboll making a public statement that he wanted to keep Patrick Graham as his DC, has me worried that Daboll is driving coaches away. It’s a clear sign that he’s in way over his head in NY and is an extremely toxic individual. This is 100% believable and probably accurate given everything we know today. I think as more information leaks out from coaches that have already left and others likely out the door soon that there's trouble in paradise so to speak and this another reason Daboll’s seat may be very hot in 2022. Guys, I’m 10000000% kidding.

Outside of Hendrickson how many of those 6-7 guys actually made an impact for their teams? Judon early on… but he was a non-factor down the stretch… Lawson, Dupree, Watt, Okwara were wastes of money. Those were the 6 highest paid guys… my original point was that impact guys rarely reach FA. So if your argument is that they should’ve signed Hendrickson that’s fine… but there was 1 guy not 6-7. The type of guy you’re looking goes at the top of the draft and rarely makes it to free agency. It has far less to do with scouting and far more to do with scarcity. That’s why they’re so valuable. I know you’re upset Rousseau, Epenesa and Basham aren’t game breakers (at this point) but we’ve yet to be in a position to acquire a guy like that… outside of Ed Oliver… and he’s been solid his entire career. Took a huge step this year.

I mean look… there very well be some validity to the fact that a D-LINE rotation doesn’t work or isn’t as effective as another personnel set up. It’s just that picking out one particular instance and championing it as proof is a horrible way to approach things. The Bills sports medicine staff and analysts are pretty good at injury prevention and honestly pretty advanced with sleep and nutrition. I’m sure these types of decisions aren’t haphazardly thrown together like the OP.
