  1. Davis Mills was WAY more impressive than Mac Jones. It’s not even close. He was in the worst situation by far and held his own. Also didn’t cost a mid-1st rounder.
  2. Brady also spent the majority of his career under Bill Belichick and Josh McDaniels. Both manages to backed out of commitments they made to teams… McDaniels was even hiring staff in Indianapolis before he bailed. Don't forget the cheating too. I don’t put very much faith in people who have proven they lack strong values.
  3. They learn from the ones they lost, not lament over them for 4 years now… most people don’t end up making decisions for a pro sports team either. Maybe that’s the separator?
  4. This is a little dramatic, no?
  5. I don’t disagree we need to spend draft capital on the offense this year, and would like to see our RD1 pick on a WR if it’s the right fit. Although, I’m not sure how you can say they’re prioritizing the defense at the expense of the offense. They’ve been a top 3 offense two seasons straight… the offense hasn’t suffered… they’ve just acquired talent through other avenues. At least the way I’m reading what you wrote, you’re suggesting the offense has suffered because of their investment in the defense through the draft. It may not be your intention, but that’s how it seems to be written.
  6. The Chiefs have drafted well because they’ve found 3 above average starters in the last 5 drafts. The Bills have at least 2 in 4 of the last 5 drafts (2021 is TBD but Rousseau and Brown have shown promise) and they’ve drafted poorly because they took Cody Ford. Right…
  7. Reminder that the Dolphins haven’t beaten the Bills since Josh’s rookie year and McDermott is 9-1 against them. Josh Allen 7-1 63% completion 1980 yards 21 TD 5 INT 430 Rush 4 TD Call me when they find a QB that can match that.
  8. They didn’t even view Lamar as a QB haha
  9. It’s general knowledge they had a trade agreed on with Denver to move up to #5 so long as Bradley Chubb wasn’t there. I believe it was picks 12, 22 and 53 to move up to 5. Obviously Chubb went to Denver, which caused them to move up to #7 with Tampa. There have been leaked images of their board, the plan was always to move up for Allen. Allen, Darnold, Mayfield, Rosen, Rudolph and Lauletta were their supposed top 6 - in that order. Sam Darnold will be our backup QB by the end of free agency next year.
  10. When Daryl Williams was released, there was a point made that there was mutual interest in bringing him back at a reduced cap hit. I don’t think he’s gone.
  11. I think this is the strategy… a team will sign Ryan Bates to an offer sheet and Beane will decline to match. BUT then once the dust settles and NFL Twitter is celebrating this heralded FA signing… Beane will point out that they signed Ryan Bates but in reality his name RICK Bates… which means we maintain control over him due to the technicality. It’s really clever on Beane’s end. I’m pretty sure he’s hoping Washington will sign him so he can ***** them up.
  12. My thought Is: • Impact on the team that drafted them • Ability to get a second contract with their drafting team • Extract value from them on their 2nd contract. Purely from a team perspective.
  13. I think a trade back into RD2 is more likely
  14. Not via trade. Post-release.
  15. We have to be waiting on Bradberry, right?
  16. It’s a real murders row… 2010: CJ Spiller, Ryan Mathews, Jahvid Best 2011: Mark Ingram 2012: Trent Richardson, Doug Martin, David Wilson 2015: Todd Gurley, Melvin Gordon 2016: Ezekiel Elliot 2017: Leonard Fournette, Christian McCaffrey 2018: Saquon Barkley, Rashaad Penny, Sony Michel 2019: Josh Jacobs 2020: Clyde Edwards-Helaire 2021: Najee Harris, Travis Etienne
  17. Wasn’t everyone saying that when they took CEH? 😂
  18. Najee Harris was a waste of a pick. He was a volume guy on an average (at best) team. Almost 400 touches and he averaged under 4 yards per carry 😂. They could’ve used that pick on MUCH more impactful positions. You realize the numbers bear out that taking a RB1 in round 1 is one of the worse values you can get, right? I’m not just making this up. Jonathan Taylor was a 2nd round pick…
  19. Because drafting a RB in RD1 is a waste of a pick and we won’t be in position to take him in RD2.
  20. You really know you’re complaining when you’re referring to the practice squad QB as a “dud signing” Ay, dios mío.
  21. I suppose this would come into play with New York trading back up into the 1st round and possibly the 2nd round. After that, things get dicey IMO. Although, they’re in a position where they need to use all of their picks IMO. If they do trade back into RD1… I could possibly see it being with us. Then again, Beane has mentioned how much he values that 5th year option.
  22. Not that first season that I compared them to. Re-read my post and what I wrote. They were all fringe roster type guys (outside of Kelvin Benjamin) that signed for close to league minimum/were traded for guys on the fringe. Tolbert - 1 year at $980K Davis - 2 years at $1.1M/year Brown - 1 year at $680K Johnson - 1 year at $855K Clay - Traded for Kevon Seymour Webb - 1 year at $900K Marlowe - Practice Squad Signing McCray - Practice Squad Signing
  23. Fair enough. Remove David Sills… the point still remains. They’re bringing in players they have familiarity with. I wish McBeane were defended this much with former Carolina players… hell the DaQuan Jones thread had “Former Panther” in it for a solid 4-5 days despite spending the majority of his career in Tennessee and never crossing paths with McDermott or Beane in Carolina.
  24. The Giants had 5 EFRA and tendered contracts to 2. It’s different when you have a new regime.
