While my post didn't in any way suggest that rampant advocacy is new, I do believe it's ramped up considerably in the last 10 years.
Straight news reporting is apparently considered boring these days.
I would imagine that practice tickets are intentionally restricted to season ticket holders, at least initially. The Bills seem to be trying in recent years to give priority access to events like this to STHers as kind of a loyalty perk.
Perhaps to you, but to those paying even a little attention it's clear that journalism has died in this country. Straight reporting has given way to advocacy.
I confess to really disliking some TBD posters. I won't name them by name, but if you are a know-it-all, perpetually snarky and/or are dismissive of others, you may be who I'm thinking of. Or you may be Jeremy White.
Edit: Or Mike Schopp.
I agree with some of this, but notably absent from your analysis of the death of pure facts is the role played by "reporters" who no longer report, but instead actively advocate.
No road games this year, but all home games are 3 hours away for me (in Pittsburgh now) so that will have to suffice UNTIL my kids are out of the house.
I love when Murph asked if he was ready for a break from the practices and he basically said "oh no, this is what I've wanted to do all my life. I love being a pro."
