Am I the only one who would like to see Gray
BillnutinHouston replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Steve I thought about that too - if Gray was on the sideline he could have reminded the DB's at the end to just knock down the ball - or not. Overall, though, he's better off upstairs where he can see the entire play, Where he's the most comfortable is where he should be and that's upstairs. -
(OT) Anyone have a Tempur-pedic bed?
BillnutinHouston replied to ajzepp's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Now for the important question - as for that 3" visco topper thing, how is it for shagging? I mean, is it like doing it in quicksand? Does it allow for some "bounce", if ya know what I mean? As for a good night's sleep, I've always found Bills wins good for that. -
Just play TKO, just play.

Good post Bills fan, wish I had thought of that.

Suddenly I miss all the OT posts....

Things could be ALOT WORSE!!!
BillnutinHouston replied to Rudyc80's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We were 1-0 last year and what did it get us? NADA All that matters is how we come back. -
This gets my vote as the most irrelevant thread of the year.

To all those down on the Bills
BillnutinHouston replied to BillnutinHouston's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I knew someone would sift through the BS and get to the real purpose of my post. -
Think what a different tone there would be here if the last play was ruled out of bounds. Amazing what a few inches will do. There's a fine line between wins and losses and we were on the wrong end Sunday. If we had won, the fumbles, attempts at interceptions, prevent defenses and missed FG's would have been glossed over. Even in our glory years the above things happened. Look back at the scores - blow outs were the exceptions, not the rule. My point is, this loss REALLY hurt because we are a struggling franchise right now. But let's not blow it out of proportion, we are not as bad as the naysayers say. Week 1 matters but it's not the end-all. What good did the 31-0 win vs. Pats do for us in week 17 last year? Nothing. What matters is how we do this week and in week 4. REAL champions (Pats?) live to fight another day. Will this Bills team live to fight another day? The answer to that question is the most important one of the season, not who can we bring in to replace Lindell (who missed 1 kick) , or how can we get LeBeau back? If we show some heart in the next few weeks and get some bounces, we can pull off a 9-7 or 10-6 finish. It's all about heart.

Of course I meant our OFFENSE moving the ball!
-
Anyone that does the wave when our team has the ball should be forcibly removed from the stadium. Having said that, if our defense can't move the ball at home with a few idiots doing the wave, then we haven't a prayer on the road where the other team's fans are making noise for real.

MM makes 'gut decision"...
BillnutinHouston replied to ROSCOE P. COE TRAIN's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Based on what we all saw in the game up to that point, is Lindell from 51 a better percentage than putting the game in the hands of the #2 ranked defense with Leftwich throwing into the wind? Sweet Lord. -
This game will determine the psyche for the rest of the year. We have a very beatable opponent on the road. If we win we have reversed our fortunes and suddenly everyone buys into MM's program and we have a new beginning. We have momentum going into the bye and NE on deck. If we lose, it will be a close game (they ALL will be, with our conservative O and stingy D) and everyone's conclusion will be that the 2004 Bills will be consistently competitive losers who don't know how to win. That MM is the same as GW. This game is huge folks! Let's see how they respond.

I agree with the post above. They are a different team this year. Just how much of a barometer was Week 1 last year? None. I think those not blasting the Bills are just as disappointed as everyone else. And yes, there is a time to be brutally honest with ourselves, but it is a bit early right now. If we win at Oakland and go to the bye at 1-1, we are back in the running. If we go in 0-2, I agree it will be a long year where we will be consistently competitive losers like last year.

Bledsoe's non-pass to Shelton
BillnutinHouston replied to BillnutinHouston's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks guys, and Mark Gaughan's article this AM confirms that there was safety coverage on Shelton in the EZ... "After two 1-yard Henry runs, Bledsoe made a play-action fake and looked to the left flat for fullback Daimon Shelton. But Jaguars safety Deke Cooper read the play and blanketed Shelton. Bledsoe had to hold on for a sack and the Bills settled for a 25-yard field goal to make it 10-6. " Can't blame Drew for that, he made the right decision there and salvaged 3 points. -
Bledsoe's non-pass to Shelton
BillnutinHouston replied to BillnutinHouston's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I thought he could have lofted the ball over the pass rusher. Maybe it was that the timing of the rush would have made Drew throw it too early & Shelton hadn't turned yet. -
In the 4th quarter, on the 3rd down play in the red zone when Bledsoe ate the ball and got sacked, why did Bledsoe not throw to Shelton (as it appears he was the intended receiver)? On TV it LOOKED like Shelton was open but he hadn't turned and looked for the ball yet so Drew ate it. Can someone who was at the game tell me if there was a safety or linebacker defending Shelton (possibly out of the camera view)? I'd especially like to hear from those poor souls who were at the Ralph & not TV viewers.

Both Criqui and especially Tasker were bending over backwards to sahow they weren't pro-Bills. We can't blame them for the loss tho.
-
the most blame for this loss?
BillnutinHouston replied to Typical TBD Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kelso, you are a simplistic moron in search of a scapegoat. Reread this thread a few times and you'll see that all of your anti-Drew arguments have been seriously refuted. -
McGahee started a little slowly, but....
BillnutinHouston replied to Rayzer32's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I love WM's vision, body lean and patience. He is the type of back that always seems to get an extra 2+ yards after he's hit. Would have like to have seen him earlier, or in a formation with Henry. Maybe they have not yet figured out a way to get them on the field at the same time. -

We must go vertical 2-3 times a game...

Agree Piss. It would be nice to do something other than run every time on 1st down. -

Yes, the last 10 people living in Buffalo (are there even 10 left?) will be looking to slit their wrists tonight. -

For those who expect perfection every game

Not interested in perfection, just a win once in awhile.
