  1. www.SayNoToToronto.com = WNY's Maginot Line This kind of thinking won't work folks!
  2. Ole Cotton, just as I was doubting that your basketball savvy would transfer well to the gridiron, BAM! you reach into your bag of tricks and pull out the spot-on allegory of old Kookaburra. Brilliant!
  3. This is exactly what makes me so excited to be taking my son to the opener (not that I have a terminal illness, but life is short and you never know). On top of going myself, just being able to see the look on his face all day will be priceless. I hope that my son imbeds those memories in his mind permanently, as you have done.
  4. My 9 year old son and I are flying into town for the opener. It will be my first time back at the Ralph in about 7 years, and my son's first game ever in person. Sitting between the 40 & 50, 35 rows from the field (woo hoo). All my son knows about the Bills is watching via Sunday Ticket from out of town, although he has lots of Bills gear and his room is fully decked out with Bills paraphernalia. Can't wait to show my little dude the Buffalo gameday atmosphere, stadium and fans. He's looking forward to learning what a tailgate party is. Does it get any better than that?
  5. I tend to agree. Unless we are up by alot in a given game, we will play conservatively.
  6. Took a look and it's very cool. Nice upgrades. I do not understand how some sit back and come up with laundry lists of criticism, but I will share one personal comment - I NEVER come to TBD to look at Sabres news. That to me is wasted space. Thanks for the overall great job!
  7. Everyone here had BETTER be an Edwards hopeful. Don't we all want the Bills to win? I am not currently a fan of Trent based on what I've seen so far, but I HOPE he earns my fandom by playing well and winning.
  8. This is roughly where I come out on this issue. Pro Bowls have to be the standard by which you judge a #8 pick.
  9. Or who wants to defend Marv for picking him in the second round?
  10. I realize that in the eyes of many, Marv was and always will be a draft genius. But if McCargo is average this year again, the word "bust" will start being used more often. This reminds me, need to start that Youboty thread...
  11. Let's be honest - don't we say this every year at this time?
  12. Don't worry - I'm pretty sure they won't start week 1 without you.
  13. For all we know now, Nate may have peaked when he was with the Bills - whether he did or not is TOTALLY irrelevant. At that moment in time, with no reason to think Clements would soon decline, the Bills were not willing to lay out huge dollars for a proven mid-career starter. Given that, I don't see Ralph making a play for Favre, a high dollar guy at the very END of his career.
  14. So the owner who wouldn't pay Nate Clements going into his prime, would (over)pay to get Favre in his last years? That is not even remotely in keeping with this owner's M.O.
  15. Another example of how faulty this is (number of starters) as a measuring stick for the quality of a team's drafts. Gee, the Bills draft lots of starters and the Patriots don't - I wonder why? Maybe because the current Patriots' current on-the-field product is superior to that of the Bills? Wouldn't you agree that over the last 5 years, if you were a draftee for the Bills your chances of starting right away would be much higher than if you were drafted by the Pats?
  16. I'm not exactly sure how StubHub works, maybe they have agreements in place with some season ticket holders? Anyway, they have a guarantee that says your seats will be better than or equal to what you purchased, so we'll see. Sounds like StubHub has a good rep. I was a season tix holder for about 12 years before moving away - I forgot that the tix come in July.
  17. I bought some prime seats for the opener through StubHub. I got an email the other day from StubHub stating: "Your order is confirmed. Since tickets for this event have not yet been printed and distributed, they will be shipped to you as soon as the seller receives them. Rest assured, you have our FanProtect Guarantee that your tickets will arrive in time for the event!" Were season tickets printed and distributed yet? And do any of you have experience with StubHub? Are they OK? Thanks! Initially I tried to get tickets through TSW, but I was too impatient and had to lock up those babies ASAP!
  18. "Proud" doesn't really describe it for me. The Bills and my Buffalo roots are a part of me like my fingerprints. I couldn't drop them if I tried.
  19. Everything mentioned above. But most of all, opening weekend I'm flying in with my 9 year old son so he can go to his first Bills game ever, and mine in about 6 years. Doesn't get any better than that!
  20. Our offensive coordinator situation may not be a weakness, but in my mind it's a definite question mark. Most likely Schonert is an upgrade in comparison to Fairchild, but really that's not saying much. Asking a rookie signal caller who (to my knowledge) has never called plays under fire, to go against experienced D coordinators is something that bears watching going into this season.
  21. Disclaimer for the board - critiquing a player is not the same thing as a lack of support. Ask any coach.
  22. I am not aware of one, but there may be. As soon as I moved here I subscribed to Sunday Ticket.
