Are you saying that asking for 1 TD out of the starting offense in the second preseason game is asking too much? I'm not sure if the NFL keeps stats on how many points an offense puts up under each QB, but Trent's point production so far is, in my recollection, alarmingly low. I would like to see some progress in that category.

I know TE will have limited playing time but it would be nice to see him lead the offense to a TD. At this point I don't care if it's a Marshawn dive from the 1 yard line, or a 40-yd TD pass to Evans. I just want to see this offense, led by Edwards, score a TD. Is that asking too much?

I think it's OK for folks to be fans of both. And giving 1 guy credit is not taking anything away from the other.

I never liked this pick and have always thought Marv reached for this pick as well as Youbouty. I always said Marv was in over his head as a GM. I think he got out so quickly because he realized this and didn't want to do too much damage to the club he loved.

That analysis is above my head, but I do know that JP "threw" for a TD and Trent didn't "pass" for any.

Last night JP clearly outperformed Trent in terms of yards gained, completion pct and points scored. Each of us can speculate/rationalize as to why, as well as what that means (if anything). True that JP played against a second team defense, but didn't he also play WITH our second team offense? What concerns me is Trent's statements/explanation after the game, which included this gem: "We're in a different game situation — with crowd noise and the play clock. Those are things we need to work on in practice and improve." Thank God he didn't mention a breeze blowing through FedEx Field. What happens when weather becomes a factor? I'm really sick of hearing that Trent is better than JP "CONSIDERING HOW MANY GAMES HE'S PLAYED" or "BECAUSE HE HAS MORE POISE". I want to believe in Trent, because I have to. But please, PLEASE - show it in a game already. Put up some points please Trent! Make me a believer!!!!

I lived in San Antonio for 3 years. It is not an ideal NFL town in the sense that while there are lots of people, there's not as much corporate or personal wealth as the city's stats might indicate. The stadium is not NFL caliber and would be temporary only. Also, that is Cowboys country and Jerry Jones would have a thing or two to say about another franchise infringing on his market area.

The literal answer to your question is, no we are not better off. However, the possibility of less-than-full-recovery from the injury may be one of the reasons why Brandon wants to see him in camp before talking about a renegotiation.
