  1. Cool! He's just learning this offense and already has a TD against the Patriots. Hasn't dropped anything yet. He's the anti-Royal.
  2. Last I heard Nelson was doubtful but I hope he plays. In my opinion he's by far the best option after Schouman. A tight end that's actually a threat.
  3. I agree with those advocating a mix of blitzing and Cover 2. I also think this could be the week the coaches unleash Maybin and let him rush from unpredictable places (not just the left side of the line where he was swallowed up against the Bucs). A TD from our special teams would also help.
  4. As long as Nelson can play we will be OK. A budding star in my opinion.
  5. I agree that franchising TO (or any player for that matter) is rarely the best strategy for a team. I was just curious if TO's one year deal allowed for the Bills to even have that option.
  6. TO is definitely a net PLUS for this team, mainly because he still dictates how teams defend us. Other receivers on the roster may EVENTUALLY bring this to our offense, but nobody brings this NOW. So, if the next two games play out like the first two weeks, I'd start pursuing some negotiations to extend. I suspect TO has seen firsthand after 2 weeks that this Bills team gives him as good a shot to win as anywhere else. Has anyone been able to confirm that the Bills ARE ABLE to franchise TO if they want to?
  7. I got the Edwards white throwback from DHGate (the seller was right20) and I am thrilled. Paid $35 for the jersey including shipping. The shipping was slow (I think it was LITERALLY on the slow boat from China) but when it arrived I was very pleased. It's sharp and a great deal for the price. Actually it's my first jersey so I can't compare it to anything I own personally, but I'm pretty picky and compared to the other jerseys I saw at the opener, mine's right up there. Love those white throwbacks...
  8. Do not fear - getting loud for our defense is like riding a bike - it's pretty well ingrained in the RWS regulars I think. My son and I will be bringing it from Texas - flying out tomorrow AM....
  9. Interesting how the GMs are subtly trying to blackball Eugene Parker. If I was a college player thinking about which agent to eventually hire, I would definitely steer clear of Parker after reading this article. Clearly to the GMs, who you select as your agent says a lot about you and the clear implication is that Crabtree slipped in the draft because of his representation. Also, this article does cast the Peters move (and the Bills front office) in a rather different light, doesn't it?
  10. I agree completely - I was very disappointed with the ST's. I assume their performance is why Justin Jenkins is back in the fold.
  11. I have no problem with his picking the Pats*. On the heels of his intro speech for Ralph, he needs to establish that he has some level of objectivity when it comes to the Bills.
  12. Hard for any of us to speculate whether adding some plays will somehow overwhelm Trent, but I will say that I was very impressed with Trent's management of the offense and especially his complete command at the line of scrimmage. His mannerisms and decisiveness reminded me of, dare I say it, Peyton Manning. Clearly this offense and pace do in fact take advantage of Trent's strengths, and it shows. Several of my coworkers from Houston who have no ties or fan loyalty to the team told me the day after, WOW, Trent really looks like the real deal.
  13. Good for Sully - it's oh so easy to look for, and find, scapegoats.
  14. I have to agree. If the positives showed tonight continue throughout the season, maybe we go above .500.
  15. Why the equivocation? Do you want Bobby April fired or not? BTW, Bobby April is highly regarded and Carucci blames this on McK and not the coaches.
  16. Please explain what distinguishes Jauron's demeanor from Belichick's.
  17. Please explain how he coached scared tonight. Thanks.
  18. Think about how outgunned the Bills were coming into this game. I think Dick had this team prepared well and I give him credit for that. We were right there at the end - who would have expected that? I hate losing as much as anyone but, strategically, and based on what he's given to work with, I think he has this team in a position to win every week. I give him credit for that. OK, tell me how wrong I am.
  19. White 50th anniversary Edwards. Yes, DH Gate came through for me pretty well. Dang these white jerseys are sweet!
  20. For all of the negative press and NE's overconfidence, the truth is, nobody knows what's going to happen. Maybin has a sack in both games he's played, and nobody knows whether that was a fluke or just the tip of the iceberg. The offense looked weak in preseason but there was no game planning, no D. Bell at LT, and no TO. The defense looked OK, but again no gameplanning. NE's defense is rebuilt and who knows how it will hold up? I think back to week 1 last year, when the Bills stepped out (granted, at home) and dominated a Seattle team that people THOUGHT would be decent. Bottom line, as Jim Mora would say: "You think you know, but you really don't know..."
  21. Nice thread Bill! Thanks everyone for helping me through a LONG offseason. Especially those who try hard to keep it classy...
  22. The only way he becomes a Bill is if the Bills agree to sign him before the roster cutoff thing. Otherwise we are just a bargaining chip for him with Philly.
  23. It's a team ranking. There is no way Vic would rank Bills fans that low and think he could walk around WNY without an escort.
