  1. Whitner lost me long ago. Way too much mouth, acts like the big team spokesman, but far too few plays made. Never will forget Sammy Morris running him over on a sweep. Classic.
  2. Really going out on a limb there...
  3. Agreed. Big break for the Bills coaching search. Kubiak was definitely on the bubble.
  4. Correct. And, both Jimbo and Thurman have earned themselves a place WAY outside the circle of trust, at least until Ralph's no longer the owner. I'm sure Ralph and Russ were not pleased with their amateurish performances after the Nix press conference.
  5. That karma thing is tough.
  6. The meetings and subsequent leaks could be an effort to get the Carolina, Tampa and/or Houston management groups to show their cards. There is NO downside for Cowher to meet with the Bills 20 times and continue leaking.
  7. Casserly did say this, but didn't cite any specific source. It was hard to tell what, if anything, he based this statement on.
  8. Those guys are well intended but frankly, clueless. It's all uninformed speculation. Nobody from major media had the Bills talking to Cowher. The Bills are doing a good job of conducting their business off the radar screen.
  9. Maybe I'm just slow but I'm reading that the Bills and Cowher had a secret meeting. Where do these links state that COWHER was the one to send out the feelers, and where does it say that Cowher's expected in Buffalo next week? Again, maybe I'm just slow.
  10. Why would he leak or associate with someone who does? Unless the leak came from someone who Cowher contacted to be on his staff?
  11. You needed THIS to cement that conclusion?
  12. This kills it - too much leakage from Cowher = Cowher working the Bills to leverage an offer by someone else.
  13. One city not mentioned in the article that could be a player for Cowher, is Houston. Kubiak's on the bubble here I believe, with a deep pocket owner.
  14. Keep in mind also, if we can cut our injuries in half next year, the roster gets better instantly.
  15. I think I agree with this. At least he is experienced, has been through playoff runs, Super Bowl prep & victory, etc. That's not chicken feed.
  16. I was responding to the silly idea of making schools keep players on scholarship until they graduate. The idea that athletes on full scholarship get 4 years on campus, yet are owed even more if THEY fail to earn enough credits to graduate (while the paying students fork over $50-$100K over those same years and often go into years of debt), is absurd. If they are too dumb to take advantage of the opportunity, they get what they deserve. How can anyone consider 4 years of free room, board, and all the classroom instruction you can handle, getting nothing in return from the university?
  17. Well said. I am sick of our culture responding to weak-willed people by handing them more free stuff. Sadly, we are systematically devaluing the work ethic that made this country great, and encouraging more and more to become dependent on others. For some, creating mass dependence is a shrewd political strategy (cynical though it is), but I can't support it, in any form.
