  1. Coach Cotton, Appears Coach Sal is on tonight at 9:05. Link
  2. First, I do not for a SECOND think that Tebow is a Nix-type pick, certainly not at #9. Way too high-risk for Nix to use our first pick on him, unless we trade down to the late first round. I actually think this franchise NEEDS to trade down and get more picks unless there is a can't-miss player available at a position of need at #9. However, I would definitely support Tebow should he land here. Appears to be a high character guy, a true leader, very coachable, clearly committed to his craft. I like that.
  3. If indeed he was tendered with a 2nd round pick, then yes this would make sense.
  4. I agree with your overall point, especially as it pertains to Byrd. But the last two sentences (quoted above) really drive me nuts. I absolutely hate when people use "getting starters" as the standard for drafting success - when you are a bad team, getting starters is setting the bar too low. When a bad team drafts guys who become starters on a weak roster, I say, big deal!
  5. Man I agree 100%. I officially hate this twitter crap. I think if I was a front office guy I'd found out a player's propensity for tweeting, then NOT DRAFT HIM.
  6. Yes - I am doing this too. The BB/BS person I spoke to indicated that if it weren't for these ticket donations, may of these fatherless kids in WNY would never get to see a game. So I see this approach as a win all around for myself, the Bills, and a very worthy cause.
  7. The Bills are not 1-2 players away. With many holes to fill, the best approach would be to get several quality players rather than swinging for a single home run. Also from what I've read of Buddy, I think he prefers to play the percentages rather than trying to swing for the fences. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see us trade some vets and the #9 slot for more picks.
  8. Great idea. Did you know that you can support the Bills AND charity at the same time? If you donate your tickets to a 501C3 organization, you get a tax deduction for the face value.
  9. I jumped back in this year. Come on, if a former WNYer can pony up all the way from Texas, why can't the rest of you holdouts from the hood?
  10. This mentality makes me laugh. How do you know who they are or aren't talking to? Did you know that Nix was talking to Chan Gailey before his signing made the news?
  11. Try making sense.
  12. Incognito not tendered = further repudiation of John Guy by this regime
  13. You mean Buddy hasn't publicly come out and stated exactly who we are targeting? I guess he's the only GM who hasn't done this. We are DOOMED.
  14. Your reasonableness has me curious - what changed your mind about Nix?
  15. I like this signing.
  16. I took the plunge into club seats this year, because it was my best option to get good seats, having lost my season ticket holder seniority years ago. To my surprise, with no seniority, I got 4 rows up in the reds, at the 50 yard line in the JK club. That has to say something about how club seat sales are going. I agree that the contract was confusing, as it didn't break out the cost of the tickets from the license fee. But if you call a rep you will get your questions answered - I got mine answered in writing in an email.
  17. Your general concept is very interesting. The question is reliability - how can you be sure that you're measuring what you're trying to measure. For example, the QB's willingness to pull the trigger is a variable that plays into your results, and this could skew your results. For example, playing behind similar OL's, Trent Edwards and Jay Cutler may show very different ATT's - but this could be due to Cutler's willingness to throw into coverage in cases where Edwards was not. So, the ATT would measure the overall offensive unit (OL + QB play) rather than a specific position. Also, the type of patterns used by a team would affect the stat.
  18. Link for this piece of speculation?
  19. If Whaley didn't have any say, then, um, WHY did they hire him?
  20. Please describe to me the last play that you remember Evans dropping a pass. Which game, situation, etc. Evans may have his flaws, but I can't recall a drop. Personally I think the guy has exceptional hands - practically glue-like. EDIT - After reading through this thread a bit further, it's amazing to me how many people focus on SYMPTOMS of losing football, rather than root CAUSES. Evans' production is a SYMPTOM of bad OL and QB play. It is NOT a CAUSE. Putting the Bills' offensive problems on a scale from causes to symptoms, I would say the following: causes>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>symptoms OL play -----> QB play -----> TE play ----->RB play ------> WR play
  21. Actually, I do like it better. I find it easier to run errands around town most of the year in shorts and flip flops, than in boots and a heavy coat. No shoveling either. What I really miss is the fall - crisp air and the colors on the trees.
