  1. Captures the feeling pretty well, but I'm not sure why the article says "Thousands of people who live in Buffalo stick with our teams through every circumstance." Obviously there's a huge legion of Buffalo expatriates who follow the Bills and Sabres, too. When you consider distance, travel & Sunday Ticket costs, and different "home town" teams competing for expatriates' attention, the support that Buffalo teams get from out of town fans is an even more remarkable feature of Buffalo's fan base.
  2. A big +1 to show support for the dwindling numbers of classy folks who still come out to the games.
  3. Well done Billsbonds! This is not an easy task to take on, and we appreciate your efforts. Keep us posted.
  4. Enlightening thread. I didn't know Ray Charles liked football.
  5. You're kidding posting this, right? Them there are some SERIOUS rose-colored glasses!
  6. Someone help me here - why is he still on this team? Not only is he unable to set the edge, cover anyone, rush the passer, or get off blocks, but as an added bonus he also gets in the way (blocks) other defensive players from getting to the ball. Amazing that nobody else on the roster can push him for playing time.
  7. Not sure slow motion is really needed to see that. Hali was a beast today.
  8. I'm sorry, I don't see it. He's still far away from being an "impact corner". Every time his man catches a ball the words "first rounder" flash in my mind. Has he knocked down ANY passes this year?
  9. "Often missing in the clutch"? Serious? Do you have stats on his 4th quarter kicks to validate that perception?
  10. Oh I thought you meant me.
  11. Agreed, I hate the sheepishly jogging out of bounds.
  12. How was the Reggie corner pick, not a pick? He caught the ball probably 4 full yards in front of the end line.
  13. Fox News Sunday just did a feature on Washington Capitols owner Ted Leonsis. This guy answers every email he gets from fans. Fox even published his email address at the end of their story so fans could try it. When asked what the biggest mistake of most sports owners is, he said, (paraphrasing here) "acting like they know enough about the sport to call the shots. I would not even pretend to know what I'm doing and act like a GM. My job is to pay for what the team needs, and make sure the beer is cold." Other quotes (paraphrased) “Every owner holds the mental health of their community in the palm of their hand.” “winning a championship can make grown men cry.” “I will not rest, or die a happy man until I win a title.” Heavy sigh....
  14. Flop - great avatar!
  15. Correct answer. I would have thought this is pretty obvious at this point, but obviously it isn't to some. Oh and by the way, if all remains silent at One Bills Drive, it doesn't necessarily mean they are standing pat as some will assume. It means the RIGHT deal didn't materialize. You don't deal just to deal, if it's not in your interest.
  16. Would the team as currently composed make more or less revenue (prior to a sale) if it was known that the Bills will remain safely in WNY? The answer to this question might explain the lack of a publicized plan.
  17. What do the stats say about Whitner's ability to cover a TE? Even for one play? I will grant you, he's a sure tackler (after the rusher has gained his 8 yards or after the TE has made the first down). And if you're in need of a great postgame quote, he's your man!
  18. When I'm out and about wearing my Bills gear, I don't usually get too much flak. I think that's because a) Texans (of the non-Dallas variety) are generally friendly and don't enjoy being mean; and b) the Bills have a decent record against the Texans. In my office I have lots of Bills gear on display, but I don't hear too much negative talk. I think that's because I'm the boss! I will agree that overall its tougher to be a Bills fan than it used to be, but as someone else has said it's in your blood and you really do not have a choice. But I have been to two games this year and they were kind of a chore. The on field product wasn't much of a reward for the travel costs and time spent.
  19. Is there a better way to create a name for yourself, then to drop vague pronouncements to the Bills fanbase that the Bills are staying? How about Buffalo reporters actually reporting something rather than spewing unsubstantiated commentary?
  20. Can someone share specifics? What specifically was stated that is leading folks to believe there's a plan to keep the Bills in WNY, or "the region"?
  21. I said last year that Byrd was overrated. I said this because most of his interceptions were the result of nice bounces rather than great plays on the ball. This year is different - no pass rush so just about every opposing pass is a throw to an open receiver. Still haven't seen any great plays from Byrd though.
  22. We're supposedly going to rebuild through the draft, but historically we have a poor drafting record (granted, there are new men in charge). My question is, given this approach plus having plucked Nix out of the college scouting dept., have the Bills beefed up the college scouting department, let alone replaced Nix? If your whole plan calls for great drafting, shouldn't a key element of the plan involve bolstering your scouting resources?
  23. Donte - you are the laughingstock. You feel the need to provide headline-grabbing commentary after every game. Either that or you're tweeting, making stupid preseason predictions, whining about being laughed at, threatening those who tease you, or just whiffing on tackles. Flat-out embarrassing.
