Locker compared to Losman

Maybe, but just a little bit of Dalton's 42-7 record is attributable to the quality of TCU's defense, no? -

As I stated before, it all boils down to supply and demand. And NOTHING is more American than that. -

Did you know that Bills club seat holders pay a license fee? For 2011 it's $1,800 per seat per year, plus the cost of the tickets ($67 per game). My guess is the license fees were created to skirt revenue sharing. Presumably, license fees don't have to be shared with other teams as normal ticket revenue does. Bottom line, it's all supply and demand. -

I'm no attorney but it's my understanding that you do not have any standing to sue unless you've been harmed. Until he misses a game, how can he claim to be harmed? Mental distress? Dismissed! -
So is Chan setting the stage for an AJ Green pick at #3?

If you're the GM of the Bills, you know that at some point you NEED to invest in the QB position. Why not this year, when a) the draft is deep at your other need positions in later rounds and b) when you have, in effect, 2 very high picks (at #3 and #34)? The wonderlic on Gabbert came in great. Assuming his "personal time" with Buddy went equally well, I think if Gabbert is still on the board at #3, Buddy will send the card forward with Gabbert's name on it.

Bad link (at least for me).

Clearly, here's a man with his finger on the pulse of the average Bills fan.

Nice one. Just had my drink come shooting out my nose after reading that. -
Post-Combine: Who do YOU want to draft @ #3
BillnutinHouston replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I vote for Quinn - he'll be our DeMarcus Ware. -
I agree that if they don't trade down (which I hope they do), this ^, or something close to it, is the likely scenario. The Bills will try to have their cake and eat it too, by drafting defense first then taking the best QB left on the board in the 2nd round.

Bills interested in Atogwe

I don't feel comfortable at all with what we have in Byrd, not after last year. I think he's overrated and have said so for over a year now. But, assuming FA dollars are scarce for Buffalo, I'd spend the $ on another position. -

Pat Moran:inside source has us taking

....which why teams intentionally leak out all kinds of misinformation before the draft. And the drooling media are all too happy to lap it up and then breathlessly report it to show how "in the know" they are.....and then some fans actually believe what they're hearing. -

BillnutinHouston replied to BeastMode54's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
OK, I'll bite. It's pretty simple really. There are all kinds of head games to be played. One very simple example - you leak out (through Carucci) that you like Cam Newton so that another team lower in the draft who's drooling for him, makes a generous trade up offer to get into your slot so you don't take him. Or, you leak that you like Jordan to throw others off the trail of other DL's you like (possibly to ensure your guy remains on the board in the 2nd or 3rd round). It really goes on and on... I'm not saying that this stuff works - there's no conclusive proof of that. -
One would think they could paint ANY type of turf, including the existing turf. Clearly, end zone color is not a driver in the decision to replace. Since our turf is rated among the lowest in the league, I suspect it has more to do with upgrading the overall image of the team for NFL players (i.e., free agents). Um, the County pays for improvements like this.

If you give creedence to any of these reports, be they from Moran, Carrucci or whoever, you are assuming that the Bills place more security on the news of their impending uniform change (which nobody knew about in advance of the announcement) than they do who they'll actually pick at #3. Does this make sense? It's all one big poker game/smokescreen at this point. -
New uniforms link to Lockout?

The owners get TV money regardless of whether there's a season or not. Do you think that revenue from new jerseys is even a half a drop in the bucket compared to that TV money? Also... It's a 2 year process for an NFL team to change jerseys - do you really think they set these wheels in motion two years ago in preparation for a work stoppage? -
If Whitner really tweeted that "80% chance" remark, he's clearly an agent's worst nightmare - he all but agreed (publicly) to whatever the Bills are offering. Just another reason tweeting by pro athletes is stupid, IMO.

Why the Bills will go QB instead of DT @ pick # 3
BillnutinHouston replied to Bill4Life's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think you are putting too much stock in what Gailey says BEFORE the draft, and not enough stock in what Nix has said AFTER his first draft. Pre-draft statements are believed at the listener's peril; post-draft statements IMO more accurately reveal a team's true feelings. (Granted, post-draft statements can also be spin as they serve to justify the thought process that drove the selections.) Recall last year how Nix defended not taking a LT in the draft. He stated he will not reach for a guy if he's not going to be better than what you already have. Based on this, I do not see Nix selecting anyone that he thinnks is years away from seeing the field. -
Pick the next owner of the Bills
BillnutinHouston replied to Tortured Soul's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Agree 100%. A new stadium does NOT guarantee cash flow - maybe in Dallas with all the corporate support and high income fans, but not in Buffalo. Be wary of any ownership group demanding a new stadium in Buffalo - it's a sign that they simply do not understand WNY demographics. Have any of you noticed that Ralph has not asked for a new stadium? Ask yourself why. He gets it. -
