  1. Respectfully disagree, obviously. Assuming no deal is struck, all I need to know is what the Bills offered. Doesn't matter much to me what Stevie was asking for. If the Bills' offer was significant, I'll be satisfied that they're trying. The Bills cannot be held responsible for overly greedy demands by an agent.
  2. I agree wholeheartedly with the previous poster who characterized these negotiations as being a bellweather for this front office. You either are investing in your own picks who perform (as you say you're going to do), or you are not. Relative to the sum of the entire payroll, not signing Stevie would be pennywise, pound foolish. If Stevie and the Bills can't get a deal done, then if the Bills want to have any credibility going forward they will need to specify exactly what they offered, and make the case that it was very fair and reasonable. For me, this will be the only way to keep me as a customer, and likely the only way to tell the rest of the league (and future free agents) that the Bills are not just the NFL's farm team. Of course, the type of disclosure I'm demanding is also against "club policy", so it's unlikely to happen except through backdoor conversations and selective leaking to the media. As far as I'm concerned, Mr. Overdorf has the full weight of the Bills franchise (credibility speaking) on his shoulders right now. Get it done or just admit you can't be competitive.
  3. Meh. No ground broken here, unless you count the snippet about Chan Gailey renting vs. owning.
  4. What empirical evidence supports this statement? Personnel on a roster, as well as team record, is the end result of a complex combination of so many variables (available talent, cap room (in past years), roster holes/strengths at any given time, personnel/strengths of divisional opponents, offensive and defensive schemes employed, coaches' preferences, quality of scouting, and on and on) that I'd argue you need to be in the room for every discussion to be able to judge the quality of a GM's evaluation skills. To my knowledge, we don't have any posters in the room.
  5. Russ, Talk is cheap, but signing Stevie is not. Less tweeting, more signing please.
  6. Let's all remember, Stevie's from SF. If any location might get a hometown discount, it would probably be SF.
  7. Are you well acquainted with San Antonio? I lived there for three years. 1) It's a Cowboys town through and through, and no way would Jerry Jones cede this territory to another franchise. The Cowboys often hold training camp there. 2) What do you know about its demographics? It has decent population, but not a lot of money overall. Most of the population is low wage. 3) The Alamodome is not NFL-caliber. They would have to start from scratch as far as stadium. 4) The City's psyche is torn between the old days (small town mentality that prefers to stay that way) vs. the new blood that wants the city to become more cosmopolitan. Infrastructure has not caught up with its recent growth. Despite its undeserved reputation, I don't think SA is well positioned at all to be an NFL city.
  8. Oh no you didn't....just blame the victims?
  9. Statistical correlation is not the same as causation. In my view, the defenses caught up to the Bills attack, and the injuries (to Wood, FJ, Bell, etc.) took a big toll. The recent Kyle Willians story (teams exploiting other teams' injury information) explains why, if Fitz WAS injured, we'll NEVER know about it.
  10. This strikes me as the type of thing a smart player (or coach or GM) says as a cover story for the real, technical reasons for losses. Could be scheme deficiencies, talent deficiencies, or coaching, but rarely will you ever hear a team spokesperson cite those things.
  11. MMMMMMM... Buffalo pizza. Nothing better. This article sure helps explain why WNY is so far out of shape.
  12. Article Good article on the new QB coach. I had no idea that he was interviewed by the Jets also, but picked the Buffalo job instead. I guess I feel better about this hire now.
  13. Stevie was actually at 4:55. That WAS a cool clip.
  14. How can you credibly say Wilson has made no moves to keep the team in Buffalo? In an era where NFL franchises regularly run roughshod over municipalities, Ralph has never (over the last 30 years) asked for a new stadium, only targeted upgrades. If he's not committed to keeping the team in Bflo, why would he continue to take a "reasonable" approach to keeping upgrade costs modest? Why not ask for the moon knowing full well that Buffalo/NYS couldn't meet his demands, thereby giving himself or even the next owner a built-in excuse to leave? Why has Ralph been the one to state he wants lease re-negotiations to move forward? Don't you find it odd that he's the one pushing this issue? Why, when holding all the cards in lease renegotiations, has Ralph stated (reportedly) he is agreeable to a clause allowing for the Bills to repay the County if they break the lease? This intentionally positions Buffalo as the default location for the next owner. Why would Ralph intentionally create this hurdle for the next owner - is that a smart move ahead of a planned sale of your primary asset? Sure the unknown is maddening for all of us, but just because Ralph hasn't put all his cards on the table doesn't mean he isn't making moves to keep Buffalo viable as the home of the Bills far into the future. I think Ralph's actions all line up to position Buffalo as well as possible for the next owner.
  15. An interesting development for...Sanchez's development. Amusing to think that the Jets were only 2 games better than our Bills.
  16. This, plus Buddy's continued insistence that they will spend up to the cap, is further proof.....Ralph is cheap.
  17. Trumaine Johnson. Picked up from the Chargers? Not sure about his game, but had good hair as I recall.
  18. Interesting. This helps put Wilson's firing of Polian in a somewhat different perspective.
  19. I just spoke to Chris H. about adding 2 additional seats to my account. I think he indicated they would not know about specific location availability until around March.
  20. Agree that what constitutes "good seats" is very subjective, so I specified exact locations and row #'s I was interested in. And yes, I have a designated account rep that I emailed with my request, as opposed to a general mailbox.
  21. The plus side of club seats is that you can probably get pretty good seats. I jumped into the club seat market a few years ago and got pretty close to the 50 yard line. The downside is cost, and most of the "heated" seats do not work anymore (the original vendor went out of business I believe). For some inexplicable reason, many of the club seat holders spend a majority of the game inside the club, lounging casually at a table like they are out to eat on a Friday night, seemingly oblivious to the fact that their team is playing on the field outside. I don't get that. Anticipating that some s.t. holders have closed their accounts in frustration, I have already emailed the Bills asking to add "good" lower bowl seats to my account. So far, no word back from the Bills. They do not seem to be too eager for the additional business.
  22. Didn't take much creativity to concoct that story. It's hot air.
  23. Sounds about right.
  24. Who is providing this "popular demand"?
  25. I have suspected as much.
