  1. Great point. Let's also remember that in addition to Denver, Miami and Phoenix also had a FA in with no ink. KC got a big stiffarm from Manning. It's called a seller's market and it happens folks!
  2. Agree 100% with this. I think this will be done tomorrow.
  3. If they get this done I'm ordering a Williams jersey, just so I can wear it to the away game this year in Houston. Texan fans should really like seeing Mario's name on the back of a Bills jersey!
  4. No idea who FLO is, but if this is true, it's very cool. Love this idea.
  5. I actually think that's an interesting idea, but a few downsides: 1) These visits come with almost no warning so how do you gather a sizeable crowd on no notice? 2) With a small crowd, the idea almost backfires.
  6. I agree with your general point, but I don't think Buddy ever said he was "looking" to make a big splash.
  7. So you're confirming that the Bills have broken the rule against contacting free agents before 4:00?
  8. Completely disagree with the premise of this thread. A GM does NOT pressure his owner via the media. A GM speaks based on decisions already made internally. Or, he's an ex-GM rather quickly. Not landing a big fish does NOT equate to a lack of commitment. Remember, players actually get a say in where they go.
  9. Agree with OP. Article title makes it appear as news, when it's just the ramblings of a disoriented gentleman. His articles are consistently a waste of time.
  10. I'd be more excited if he was a LT.
  11. Whining about paying for a second preseason game and regionalizing, really? According to Nielsen, Buffalo ranks as the 51st largest TV market. L.A. is 9 times larger at #2, yet we have a team and they don't. (So roughly translated, LA has 9 times the economic power of Buffalo.) Bills ticket prices are among the lowest in the league (likely because the team has calculated how many fans they would lose per $50 increase in ticket prices), yet some Bills fans expect the franchise to carry on without regionalizing. Really? The sad and embarrassing spectacle of Bills fans whining about having to pay for an additional preseason game, actually makes those very fans "posterboys" for Russ' regionalization strategy. You whiners are actually Russ' "Exhibit A" in his case for regionalizing. Yet you are so lacking in perspective (apparently forgetting that economically, LA = Buffalo x 9) that you likely can't appreciate the irony. Sadly, Peter Gabriel had it right: The place where I come from, is a small town They think so small, they use small words Go Bills!
  12. I know this is about RFAs, but I'm more interested in Chandler and Bell.
  13. Great news. Wood is a very solid center.
  14. Come on, your gangster/liquor store analogy is not applicable. Why not give some credit? Also, we need to understand that a Bills GM has an uphill battle LURING a FA to Buffalo. Sure there's cash but what else do you market? Failure to land a guy should not automatically cast blame on the GM. Actually landing a marquee FA in Buffalo takes a combination of several factors including the right market conditions, player personality, roster makeup, etc. Cash offering is just one factor, as is the GM "trying".
  15. Season tix from the extreme southern suburbs - Houston, TX. It's 3000 miles round trip so 2 games a year has been my limit. May push for 3 this year but I don't sell my unused tix.
  16. Are we ready to give kudos to Jim Overdorf?
  17. Ralph is cheap. Right?
  18. Many of you seem to be forgetting...Ralph was the one who initiated this round of talks. Link
  19. How hard would it be for the local media to shed some light on the status of the stadium study? Make a call or two, get Radecic's firm on the record, get Brandon on the record, and report it.
  20. Sacreligious no, accurate yes. Nice guy, but he was overrated as a coach, and completely over his head as a GM.
  21. That right there is "Post of the Month" material.
  22. I have big concerns about Mike Adams after Mayock pointed out that the guy severely lacks core strength. I think he only did 19 reps at 225 - embarrassing for an OL.
  23. My theory is they interviewed him to get an understanding of the guy they'll have to play 2X per year for the next 10, if Miami takes him. Kind of along the same lines as why Chan Gailey asked Stanford Routt how he picked off that ball against the Bills last year.
  24. Time will tell if this is an issue or not, and if we ever know the details of what the Bills offered. But yes, as a multi-year season ticket holder who now has to travel 3000 miles roundtrip per game, I'll set my own threshold of responsibility if/when Stevie walks.
