  1. Thought this might be a good time to review the quotes given in Tim Graham's very good BN article a week ago or so about Eugene Parker, Byrd's agent: “Under the system, the Bills were allowed to pay Jairus substantially less than a Pro Bowl player at his position makes for four years,” Parker said. “The Bills, under the CBA, have the ability to restrict his free agency by making him a one-year offer, which we can accept or not accept. “He’s fulfilled every clause of his contract, and he’s played at 15 to 20 percent of what his market value is for a player at his position, and he did it for four years with no complaints. “Now, it’s time. We’ve got to figure something out.” The Bills met with Parker in February at the NFL scouting combine, where each side made its position clear. Brandon said Friday the Bills “have made offers to his camp that are very competitive in the marketplace.” “We’re going to continue to do everything we can to get this done,” Brandon said. “That’s the ultimate goal. It’s never an easy process, but the franchise tag is an asset that’s collectively bargained and that we’re provided, and he has what’s available to him by not being here until when he feels he should be.” “I understand the business of football,” Parker said. “I realize teams have choices and options, and players have choices and options. And the better the player, the better options that player has. “If a deal doesn’t work for the player or team, then it doesn’t work. We can agree to disagree. That doesn’t make the team bad, or me bad or the player bad.”
  2. Who cares. At the end of the day it's a popularity contest.
  3. Doesn't everybody look like that during games?
  4. $19M is a pretty nice number. I'm thinking it's for Byrd and Wood.
  5. Correct. My workplace is filled with Cowboys fans and all despise Jerry.
  6. I ask myself that every time I visit this board.
  7. That's quite a leap to make.
  8. Can we not just enjoy obsess over the season first before worrying about this?
  9. Those are actually very funny!
  10. Great stuff! Makes me want to buy a Kemp jersey.
  11. At last report, Troup was in the top 5 in Marrone's "Iron Bills" competition. I won't knock a guy who's now healthy and motivated.
  12. Somewhat ironic that this news is posted here. ESPN and the Bills have almost nothing to do with each other.
  13. Immediately my eyes are drawn to....the horrific horse collar!
  14. Right. But it's still early. That they have incorporated it into their strength and conditioning is impressive to me at this EARLY stage. I agree that Whaley is the traditional talent evaluator and Brandon is the big picture/idea guy. Brandon is clearly steering the overall course of the franchise.
  15. I have seasons in both the clubs and the lower bowl. If you are looking for your neighbors to be loud and "into it", you might be somewhat disappointed with the clubs. In terms of fan intensity, it's definitely a notch below the rest of the stadium - which cuts both ways depending on your taste (some people prefer that). What I've never understood is why half of the club seat holders spend most of the game inside, watching the wall of TVs like they're at a sports bar. It's like, um, do you people realize there's a LIVE NFL game about 50 feet away, outside?
  16. It's laughable to me that some of you really think Brandon's talk of an analytics department is a marketing ploy. What super-nerd is going to base his ticket buying decision on the hiring of a few statisticians? I understand the skepticism about every word Brandon utters, but some of you need to check yourselves.
  17. You think that the stadium lease, new coach search, transition from Buddy to Doug, free agency, the draft and OTAs are "a whole lot"? I agree 100%. Gimme a break.
  18. Does this explain the PRE-GAME heavy drinking? IMHO, many people see a Bills game as a community party and an excuse to get stupid.
