  1. I don't get the continued "Bills let Byrd walk" talk. It takes two to make a deal. Isn't it true that every "committed" team loses players to free agency?
  2. Your thesis is that Whaley is clairvoyant: not only does he know who the next owner will be, but he also knows exactly what that owner wants and how to satisfy him. Care to rethink that?
  3. Great move. Stevie had his moments but was simply not a clutch player, nor mentally tough. This helps with cap management, too.
  4. Indeed, why. The OP poses a great question and I think the public is entitled to a detailed answer. To the extent that a new stadium would be financed by the new owner, that cost/debt will be passed on to the ticket buying public in the form of PSLs or higher ticket prices. On the other hand, if the new stadium is publicly financed, then it comes at a direct cost to the taxpayers. Either way, the public should be provided a clear understanding of why this cost is necessary. To his credit, Mr. Wilson keenly understood the economics of the WNY market and realized that a new stadium was not worthwhile. At a certain point, depending on how it's designed and financed, a new stadium could drive ticket and premium seat prices above what the WNY market can bear, and if that happens the new stadium could actually become a financial drag on the franchise. As a season ticket holder, I'd want to know what the impact of a new stadium would be on my ticket prices BEFORE ground is broken. I may seem like I'm contradicting myself but I am NOT in favor of Patrick Gallivan's bill that would make the stadium committee's deliberations public, as I fear this would dramatically slow the process and possibly grind the momentum to a halt. I have no problem with them making the sausage in private, as long as taxpayers have been provided a clear and detailed explanation of how a new stadium better supports a WNY franchise.
  5. Thrilled with the move. High impact weapon. Get me a right tackle in round 2 and I'm satisfied.
  6. I hear he's a "me" guy, a la Terrell Owens.
  7. OK, done deal. New stadium or bust. I would have preferred a RWS renovation, but I think Niagara Falls will ultimately be the pick in an effort to lock in corporate support from Southern Ontario.
  8. IMO Jeremy White is an offender in every sense of the word. He spouts opinions to callers and to Howard Simon as if they are indisputable facts, and a good 50% of the time he's dead wrong. You will never hear him preface a thought by saying, "in my opinion". What he says, just IS. I'd take Sal Cappaccio over White any day of the week.
  9. You knew there was a four-member panel that decides who the winning bid is? I guess I'm out of the loop.
  10. Good call! A good assist to the Bills unshared revenue pool! Enjoy the pregame on-field experience - it's awesome! I'll be on the field for the opener and can't wait.
  11. They are in the same place that the rest of WNY's population (who don't hold season tickets or otherwise support the team) is. Sitting on their hands waiting to complain when the team leaves.
  12. The news could mean that Evans could drop to us. It's very relevant to us.
  13. The Bills are funding 25% of the cost of the renovations, or around $30 million. That's not nothing.
  14. What would the Browns have to gain by letting this out, unless they're trying to bait another team into trading up? Because his brother is David?
  15. I think the other men in Russ' office were actors. I noticed the one guy who was standing opposite Russ' desk was the actor who played "Ted Beneke" from Breaking Bad. I agree that the movie was worth seeing. I don't go to many movies but I enjoyed the camera work (split screens when GMs were talking) and seeing the glamor shot of the Buffalo skyline was very cool.
  16. Just to clarify, Dixon was announced as a Pro Scout. Meaning, his job has nothing to do with the draft. His role will be to help scout future opponents, to help the coaches gameplan.
  17. Was there ever any reporting on why Jacobs' push for the Browns didn't work out? Would be interesting to know.
  18. You raise a great point, but with all due respect I think you have framed it wrong. There is no LUCK involved with Schumer's participation in this effort. He's involved because the Bills, not the County or NYS, added him as a Committee member. Think about that. Does that not speak volumes about Mary Wilson's intentions going forward? It actually tells all. Thank you again Mr. and Mrs. Wilson!
  19. Yea, I have some 50 yard line clubs that I may put up for sale, but no-can-do until it's known what the pricing structure is. Jay, if you find out when that will be established, could you post it? Thanks.
  20. I wasn't referring to Trump. According to the linked article, the Jacobs family has those same connections - thus Jeremy Jr's comment that "we have some warts".
  21. A very encouraging report. I think a Jacobs or Pegula ownership would be ideal. Edit: JW or anyone else, do you know if NFL rules prohibit NON-CONTROLLING owners from having ties to racetracks or casinos?
