  1. This, this and more this. Ralph would have never put her on the trust if the team was going anywhere.
  2. Can you explain/provide context to the first two sentences? What was the "fiduciary duty" question?
  3. The Niagara name has meaning north of the border and if it brings access to corporate support, you do the deal and then have to worry no longer about the financial footing of the team. I'd take that deal.
  4. Correct. That bit of news combined with Rutkowaki's confidence that "too many good people" are involved tells me not to worry. The thing about the "Niagara Bills" is that it puts a stake in the heart of Toronto's NFL notions and co-opts the Golden Horseshoe as part of our fanbase. It would be nice to have our team on very strong financial footing, wouldn't it?
  5. The voice of panic. If what you're saying has merit, and that the trust has instructions to sell to the highest bidder, why would Ralph name his wife and niece to the trust? Why not name faceless number crunchers and keep his beloved family away from the mess of selling the team to someone who wants to relocate the team?
  6. The new stadium in Minnesota has a VERY interesting layout and pricing structure. On the home side, the club seats go all the way down to the field. The visitors side as SBL's (stadium building licenses) and are generally much less expensive. The fact that you can pay for the SBLs over 8 years makes it much easier to handle.
  7. If you're serious, that's embarrassing.
  8. Where would you propose they play during that construction?
  9. Thank you. I'm amazed at how many people need to be reminded of this fact. I still think that Mrs. Wilson's and the niece's appointment to the 4-person trust is significant, and probably indicative of Mr. Wilson's instructions to not necessarily sell to the high bidder. If the high bid was his wishes, he would have kept family away from the decision making so as to protect them from the anger of WNY fans.
  10. Can you explain this statement? Are you saying that PSLs generally don't have to be paid in a lump sum?
  11. And? It's reality. Hopefully Buffalo can step up. Fans who are not able to pay individually will hopefully band together and work out PSL & ticket sharing arrangements that will enable them to contribute. It may take a regionwide "banding together" effort to keep the team viable.
  12. Best of all worlds IMO. Sammy needs an on-field pro mentor and Williams can handle that. And off the field, Watkins appears to be well grounded and won't look for MW's help on that aspect.
  13. Is it possible that we have subsidies and onerous taxes at the same time? If so, might that have something to do with our two-party system where both parties take turns being in power?
  14. I'd love to hear why a West Seneca stadium would be awesome. Do tell.
  15. I think Jacobs will, but my preference would be Pegula.
  16. The Saints GM may be wondering today what Byrd and Parker knew, and when they knew it.
  17. I'd be all in on that option since I won't make most of the games, but I haven't seen that option offered. My guess is it's too much maintenance for them to even bother with offering. Imagine the labor involved with installing the seat for one game, removing it for the next game, and repeating the process over the course of the season.
  18. Agree that Urbik will stay. His versatility at G and C is too valuable.
  19. Sir, congratulations on making the transition from "fan" to "investor". There is a difference and you should be proud of yourself. Enjoy the ride!
  20. Agreed, but consider this. Would Ralph appoint his wife and niece to the trust and then set them up as bad guys by directing them to base their decision solely on high bid? That is/was not Ralph's style. I suspect he directed the trust to seek market value with preference to an owner who is willing to keep the team in WNY. This aligns with the restrictive lease he signed. Thank you Mr. Wilson!
  21. Today's Buffalo News article quotes a source close to AECOM's stadium siting effort as saying Buffalo's tailgating tradition will be honored in the process. Meanwhile, as the consulting firm’s work continues in offices scattered around the country, site visits will prove key to helping the group understand – and see firsthand – potential attributes and problems. “We’re still early in the process, so we’ll grab as many ideas as we can,” the source said of suggestions for sites. How much is needed for a new stadium depends on whether a suburban or urban site is considered. The actual stadium needs about 15 acres of land for a typical NFL facility. “From there, you have a history of tailgating (at Bills’ games). We’ll honor that tradition. So there’s land for that,” the source said.
  22. I love Fred as much as anyone, and on third and two there's nobody else I'd hand the ball to, but it does seem to me as though he's slowing down noticeably.
  23. I shudder to think what the new stadium would look like with a Toronto franchise in the league and ticket prices doubled. Tarps anyone? A few years ago I jumped into club seats (seasons), and landed on the 50 yard line. I have no business coming out of nowhere with no seniority and landing on the 50. That really shouldn't happen with an NFL franchise. What does this say about the next era of Bills football in a new stadium under a new owner with new higher prices? You can wish for a Toronto rivalry all you want, but my hope is that our new owner does all he can to recruit southern Ontario fans, claim the Toronto market as his own and put a stake in the heart of Toronto's NFL ambitions. If we have to compete with Toronto for monied fans, I'm not sure how well we'll do.
