  1. Correct, I thought the same thing when I heard Poloncarz.
  2. When this is all over, there really needs to be some kind of public posthumous honoring of Mr. Wilson. As much as he was vilified during his lifetime, it's becoming more and more clear that he successfully used the restrictive lease and his trust to forge a long term future for the team in Buffalo. And notably, he did so knowing that it would come at a considerable cost to his estate. Mr. Wilson is no less a hero than is the new owner (I'm hoping that's Pegula).
  3. Why would the trust say or do ANYTHING to indicate that the Toronto bid is invalid, if that would have the effect of deflating the final sales price? They are not in this to score day-to-day PR points with us fans. All that matters is the final outcome. They are likely harboring serious doubts about the JBJ Rogers group, and keeping those doubts strictly private.
  4. I listened as well, and I agree with everything you've stated. And I don't believe our posts are incompatible.
  5. And in the process, deflating the final sale price. Curious timing by Poloncarz - I'm sure the trust can't be loving him right about now.
  6. Never underestimate the power of fear and paranoia, particularly as they pertain to Buffalo sports fans.
  7. There are all kinds of reasons why people do this. I think in general, those that have left town have a much lower "take them for granted" attitude toward the Bills and find value in supporting the team as an institution worth supporting, for both selfish and civic reasons.
  8. Don't want to come off as a pessimist because 46K is an improvement from recent years, but I disagree that 46K is an impressive number. I have to believe that that puts the Bills in the bottom tier of the NFL in terms of ST holders.
  9. Isn't that the home of Rolling Rock?
  10. Interesting choice of words. Are you part of the trust?
  11. Also out of state and hold season tickets. I'm doing my part.
  12. I've only read the last page of this thread so I can't believe people are busting on EJ after his performance last night. I thought he played very well. Agendas, indeed.
  13. Disagree. MS and Proskauer can point to specific directions from the Wilson Trust that have hamstrung MS' ability to lure scores of bidders in this particular transaction. Honestly, by seeking assurances that the team will be kept in Buffalo, the Trust (not the hired hands) has limited the field to only a very specific type of buyer. If the field of competitors is limited, what other tools does MS have at it's disposal to maximize the sale price - other than leaks?
  14. The leak about "up to 8 bidders" is obviously good news for the Trust. And the timing of the leak serves the Trust's interests, too.
  15. We've talked a lot about regionalizing the Bills franchise. This plan would not only accomplish that, it would also regionalize the entire City. Personally I love going to games at The Ralph, but this would be a very cool improvement to the City.
  16. Mmmm...cold pizza for breakfast on game day is one of my favorite parts of making a Buffalo home opener pilgrimage.
  17. 99% of Cowboy fans you run into in Texas will agree with this assessment.
  18. Funny you posted this. I was watching his press conference today and was thinking he looked like he could snap at any moment.
  19. The fact that you believe this is proof of why demonstrating due diligence is so important to the trust. It lends an air of legitimacy to the process such that it puts the final decision beyond doubt or appeal.
  20. Overreacting? I'm not sure what you're even reacting to. I don't see any basis whatsoever to what you're worrying about.
  21. Let's tap the brakes? My word, Mr. Graham is such a small, small man. He resents being scooped so he arrogantly lectures the rabble to calm down, while simultaneously dealing a backhanded slap to Kryk. He's incapable of masking his true character. Pathetic.
  22. I lived in SA for three years and also know a bit about it. I have an opposite view. SA is a large town population wise, but there is not a ton of money there. And I know it to be a very pro-Cowboys town. Jerry certainly considers it part of his market and you'd have to pry his cold dead hands away from it. Oh and BTW, the city is broke. As for the Alamodome, the sight lines and lighting are substandard. It would need a ton of work.
  23. For that matter, Corey Hart and Celine Dion > Bon Jovi.
  24. Regarding the RCW patch, I seem to recall that the Bills were going to be giving them away at the home opener. Was I just dreaming that or does anyone else remember hearing that?
  25. Not sure where we disagree. My point was that bidders do not gain anything by publicly positioning themselves as being the highest bidder. In fact the process (through the NDAs) discourages that. I do agree with you (to a point) that if Pegula were to show up at the HoF game or training camp, it would give the fans some jollies and maybe put some type of weird pressure on the trust from a PR standpoint, however I think we can conclude from his actions to date that Pegula has NO interest in putting the trust in this position, has no interest in cheap publicity stunts and has calculated that taking the high road is the surest route to success. I happen to think his approach is the correct one. But I also don't see where JBJ would gain by publicly posturing, either.
