I'm on board but I also think this week will tell a lot. The Chargers developed the blueprint for how to beat Manuel - pressure him up the middle and get him moving/panicking. Now it's up to the coaches and EJ to be able to counter that. Can he stand in the pocket and make throws under pressure, and can he be quicker at deciding to pull it down and run when he needs to? If you watch Russell Wilson play, you notice how incredibly decisive he is about what each play offer him. He makes quick decisions and acts quickly on them. I wish I saw that level of decisiveness and then quickness out of EJ. I'd like to see more of this.

So true. But hey, this thread is different from all the other anti-EJ rants because it's AFTER the review of the game film. No extra charge for the film-based analysis of EJ's play.

The day after the opener I ran into Marv at the airport. He was very gracious and signed autographs and posed for a few photos. He went to sign a guy's hat, and in the process dropped his boarding pass. When the guy picked up Marv's pass for him, he said "thanks for recovering my fumble" without missing a beat. I was able to get a photo with him and we sat across the aisle from him on the ride to Chicago. He and his wife are very nice, humble, unassuming people.

Can't make the game but I'll be at Christian's Saturday night.

Agree with you USMC. Most likely the Bills are wrestling with the fact that they've already sold that time and space on the scoreboard. To give fans what they want, they'd have to rework the advertising deals they've already committed to.

I've been able to do it 3 times, most recently last week. Always a blast. In my experience, standing just to the left of the Bills' bench (facing the field) is a good place to be. Under Chan, that's where the LBs used to warm up. Now its the RBs and WRs. Freddie and CJ came over and shook hands with fans at the rope line there. Have fun!

I wonder if any of the people waiting at Gate 2 considered that, had they stopped tailgating a bit sooner, they might not have missed anything. I realize that personal responsibility isn't in vogue these days, but it does play a role here.

They've only worn the standing Buffalo helmet with throwback jerseys. So this week's helmet will be the charging Buffalo.

I agree. Hackett had way too much on his plate last year, not even counting the fact that he had to get 3 different QBs prepared to start games. Kudos to the Bills for ponying up the bucks to pay what's likely a pretty hefty salary for Hostler's services.

Based on Whaley's comments on GR this morning, I expect us to play a ball control offense to keep Rivers & Co. off the field as much as possible. I think this game will come down to our pass rush, getting Rivers back to stay with Gates and RBs coming out of the backfield, us getting a few more TDs and fewer FGs in the red zone, and of course the 12th man. Classic AFL rivalry should be fun to watch but being at home with Ralph looking down, I think we can pull it out.

Since it was our first TBD tailgate I can't compare it to any others, but we thought it was great and had a blast. Our thanks to everyone who put in the time and $ to put it together. Hey all, The Mrs. and I had a blast meeting many of you yesterday. It's great to be able to put faces with the names. Stromboli and moonshine for breakfast. Wow. Not sure how much of the Houston festivities we'll be able to get to in a few weeks, but we hope to be at Christian's on Saturday night. Already looking forward to next year's opener!

Diane, the Mrs. and I enjoyed meeting you yesterday and we'll definitely be at Christian's. Haven't decided about the game yet, though. See you soon.
