Fred Jackson discusses Marrone vs. Hackett
BillnutinHouston replied to 5 Wide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It IS being discussed in the Marrone v. Hackett thread. Your question is answered there. -

Head Coach candidate: Pat Shurmur
BillnutinHouston replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I guess, if you can't land Kelly, it doesn't hurt to speak to the guy that implemented his offense - if for no other reason than to educate yourself on possible offensive approaches with your personnel, or just to hear him evaluate your offensive talent. -

Pegula - better be lucky than have his Plan A?
BillnutinHouston replied to GG's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good point. But it will be interesting to see whether Marrone's "opt out clause" mitigates the Bills' tampering argument. What good is an "opt out clause" if the coach can't pursue opportunities? Unless the clause included specific procedural requirements that required another team to contact the Bills before talking to Marrone. -
Thanks for the clarification Doug (or his agent).

If the Bills hire a DC not named Schwartz to be HC...
BillnutinHouston replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills declined the Skins' request to interview him for DC so they clearly want him to stay in at least the DC capacity. If I'm the Bills FO, with Schwartz already in the fold I hold out for a Quinn or Bevell, whichever agrees to keep Schwartz as a full charge DC. If either of them decline, I have a fallback in Schwartz as HC, maybe with Pepper as DC and a Trestman as OC. Not sure how Schwartz could decline either scenario. -

Scathing article in NY Daily News on Marrone
BillnutinHouston replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
NYT's journalistic ethics are severely wanting. They have strayed far from their beginnings. That is beyond dispute. -

Do you want the new stadium domed or open field?
BillnutinHouston replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am up for the Lucas Oil thing. And I agree that it fits the 1st Ward vibe. I'm ambivalent about making it open or not for games, but I do believe Pegula will build a roofed facility that can be used for multiple purposes. What has me most pumped is that the timing of the build should coincide nicely with my planned retirement. Can't wait to be able to move back and attend all the home games. -

Tracking the Bills Front Office - Gas up the jet!
BillnutinHouston replied to CherryCoke's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Following the logic of this thread (that this is THEIR plane), a stop in Boston could signal a meeting with McDaniels. But God I hope not. -

I'm in on this plan. -

BillnutinHouston replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Marrone had no HC experience prior to being selected, so there was no track record of ass-ness to see through or detect. Once you hire him, you must back him until he fails. What other choice did Brandon have except to do what he could to make the situation work? Hindsight is 20/20 but I'd love to hear what any of you would do differently. -

Scathing article in NY Daily News on Marrone
BillnutinHouston replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bills spin machine cranking into high gear. The nuggets about low level staffers and Marrone having to approve videos before they were posted to the website clearly came from inside the org. I'm sure many in the org were less than enamored with Marrone all along, but if you say anything while the machine is in motion and the regime is intact, you flush yourself down the drain. Now, the floodgates are open. -

[closed]Do you have a question for Doug Marrone today?

Doug, can you get through this interview without saying something that's obvious? -

The "rot" at the core of the Bills' organization
BillnutinHouston replied to Yoli's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yoli, can you cite examples of Pegula's social awkwardness? Have you been at a party with him? Surely you're not referring to his showing emotion at the time he single handedly saved the heart and soul of the region he loves? Brandon is well respected as a marketer. And yes, the product does need to be marketed when your team is located in the second smallest NFL market. 40,000 season ticket holders is not a cause for pride. And why should an owner just accept that he must sell his product at rock bottom prices? Increasing the pool of people who can actually pay NFL prices is a no brainer. Do you find those people in Cattaraugus County or Southern Ontario? -

LAMP: When I'm Wrong, I Say I'm Wrong.
BillnutinHouston replied to realtruelove's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Absolutely I'm blocking. Let's review: he starts as a bandwagon jumper, follows with posting a LAMP, then tells us about his long talks with his "advisors". Enough said. -

Head Coach Candidate: Frank Reich
BillnutinHouston replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hey Dr, do you think Pegula has the magical ability to deny HC candidates the ability or right to say no to his offer? It takes two to make a deal, especially when the team has no solid QB in place, no? -

Should The Bills Retain CJ Spiller?
BillnutinHouston replied to PolishDave's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Great ability, but it shows nowhere near often enough. As has been said already, he simply refuses to hit a hole quickly for 4 yards and looks for the big one every carry. But what REALLY put me over the edge on Spiller was the sack he gave up today. Not only did he miss the initial block, but then he turned his back on his man while the guy stepped right around him to get the strip sack. Inexcusable. There is NO part of his heart that's into pass pro. -
Marrone is all about the current score on the board, and field position. He has no feel for the flow of the game and no "courage" to put his team in a position to win. He does not show any propensity to change and if that continues, will be forever a .500 coach at best. Bottom line, he does nothing to help his team win a game.
