  1. I was more curious what others thought more than paralyzed with fear they wouldn't get any one. And re: receivers coach, I just forgot to be honest.
  2. Is anybody else surprised that it is taking this long to hire these 2 positions? With all the staffs being put together I would have thought the Bills would be diving in to obtain coaches before many were scooped up. I wonder 1) If the Bills jobs are not viewed as attractive at all or 2) if they are waiting for people still in the playoffs
  3. The top 4 scoring teams in the NFL made the final four. The Bills have a long, long, long (did I say long) way to go to that level much less average. I think it is a 3-4 year build from the time they got Allen. More competitive soon but in the real hunt: NO
  4. Reports tonight that Kugler will NOT be going to TB with Ariens. No idea where he is headed but for those that are hoping it's here there is new life apparently
  5. It was the worst running game I've ever seen if you eliminate Allen's runs. I thought that was what was inherently unfair to Allen in all the evaluations by outsiders: he had to do EVERYTHING for them to succeed on offense. I think anything that will take pressure off Allen whether it is better running for, you know, real running backs, a tight end that can be productive, a better line, better receivers will make this offense much much better. Then one can fairly evaluate Allen.
  6. After watching Pierschbacher get his lunch eaten big time in the game against Clemson, I'd say a big NO even with the 149th pick. Address G and C in free agency or find a T that can move inside. Christian Wilkins from Clemson made himself some money with that game against Pierschbacher
  7. I liked the coach and player interviews. I'm impressed with him and hope the performance matches the person. The highlight videos look fantastic but it's a big jump up from CFL to NFL. Truly a no risk move by the Bills. He could be EXACTLY what this team needs and he is still very young. A very encouraging first off season move in my opinion.
  8. https://www.cfl.ca/2018/10/21/oleary-perspective-helped-duke-re-route-harrowing-path/ I'm hoping he finds his happy zone here in Buffalo. He could help a lot I think if he is as committed as this piece suggests
  9. Amen! And don't be afraid to spend some top of the draft capital to do it! Per Eric Wood on Twitter: Not surprised by how well this Colts O Line has played this year. With 3 1st rounders, an early 2nd rounder and a 4th rounder (not their pick) they have invested heavily into it and it has paid off!
  10. Hate it with the heat of a thousand suns. It ruins part of the game day experience for me because I know I'm going to have to listen to the damn thing for over 3 hours. When the team is competitive, crowd noise grown organically from the team's play is more than enough.
  11. You ever get fired? Had to move your family? Internalize the feeling of failure? Suffering can take many forms. He's a human being. I DO think his firing was merited and I said that. To be honest though, I'd have preferred that he do great.
  12. I try not to rejoice at another man's suffering but I think it was justified. I too didn't think much of the talent but the run game was awful all year (except for Allen). It never looked like they knew what to do to make it better. I think starting over, drafting an O lineman and signing a free agent to bolster it and re-thinking the approach is wise.
  13. For the 1st time in a long time, I feel like the AFC East is headed for significant change. Gone, I think, are the days of the Patriots being odds on favorites (and rightfully so) every year. Will it happen next year? I don't know if that soon (it may depend on Belichick and Brady and how long they are willing to stick it out and whether the teams below make significant gains this offseason) but for the first time in forever I feel like the Jets and Bills both have legitimate NFL quarterbacks. The Jets jumped ahead of the Bills last year to the 3 spot to take Darnold. This preemptive strike, in my opinion, has put them ahead in the chase. He already has a big time wideout in Anderson and tight end in Herndon. After seeing some of his throws here at the end of the last game, I for one was impressed. Tremendously accurate, great throw after a scramble. for a td, and a commanding presence. Is he perfect? No. He has INT's and might fumble a little but I think he will be very good. I think there are legitimate reasons he was the 2nd QB after Mayfield. The Jets again will likely pick ahead of the Bills. They may well take the top O lineman if available. They have more salary cap space then the Bills do in 2019 and will be chasing offensive linemen and receivers just like Buffalo. Is NY a better place to play than Buffalo? I don't know. A lot may well depend on who the new Jets coach (and perhaps GM are). I doubt with Darnold in place the Jets will have to settle in the coaching department. It will be a job a good coach might want. The Bills have a better D and can stop the pass. To me that is critical in this age of football. Can they fill in enough holes on what I view as a borderline expansion level of talent on the offensive side of the ball to be able to throw the ball with consistency and score through the air? To me NFL football is about passing and stopping the pass. The best teams can throw it and get consistent chunk yards and score with it. Not just occasional big plays but consistent movement. Having a really good O line helps immeasurably. Having a good running game to keep teams off balance helps a lot. The Bills have neither. This off season (after getting their QB) to me is the most important in a long long time. The AFC East power vacuum is ending. It is right there for them to jump legitimately in the hunt.
  14. To me it was Corey Thompson. He looked totally lost. Didn't fill his gaps and ran himself out of plays etc. I would imagine communication wasn't great either when Julian Stanford went out early in the game. Young free agent undrafted types playing vs veteran Pats team is a recipe for disaster. Not trying to totally exonerate Edmunds who clearly struggled too but I think it was a collective linebacker failure. Sort of the same on O with rookie QB throwing to rookie free agent types with only 1 2nd year player who doesnt seem to know when a back shoulder throw is coming.
  15. I look forward to what the Bills offense looks like when they have an actual legitimate running game to go with Allen. I think all kinds of things will open up. Being totally dependent on Allen's running to have any semblance of balance and for his contributions running near the goal line to have any kind of a red zone running threat is a lot to put on him. It's a heavy lift for him every game. I admire his efforts every week. The more talent they put around him the better he'll be.
  16. Red is the color of the Arizona Cardinals. A 60 year tradition with blue and white is fine by me. Just another damn Nike marketing device.
  17. Totally agree! I see center as in crying need of an upgrade. For me, Allen, Foster, Croom and McKenzie (in packages but perhaps not as the 1st guy out there), Dawkins, Jones and maybe Teller. I think guards are going to be brought in and it will be a fight for Teller to see the field.
  18. I've reconsidered and decided for the entertainment of those here I'll just stab myself in the eye with a cocktail fork, light myself on fire and jump through a table. Since we have multiple 7th round picks, that would be fine for a RB.
  19. I think I'd shoot myself if they took a RB in Round 1. Can find one much later.
  20. Absolutely loved some of the throws he made last week! Both TDs to Jones were fantastic. I love the athleticism (surprising me weekly) and the compete levels. I just want to see if the missed open receiver throws are repeated or if there are less of them. I want to see what happens when D coordinators start game planning for HIM to take away his strengths (and not because he's a rookie with weaknesses). That by itself is a good sign. I'm beyond cautiously optimistic. How high is the ceiling is my question. What's he like with improved O Line and receivers?
  21. I think we desperately need a better center than what we have on the roster now. I am hoping this is a priority in the offseason or draft.
  22. My comment was from 9/10 after game with Ravens not yesterday vs Miami.
  23. Inferior players getting beat by better ones. They reach, they grab, they block in the back cause they're beat. Our O line and special teams are dumpster fires.
  24. 142 yards; 0 TDs; 3 picks; 5 sacks
  25. This is one bedraggled franchise but to draft a soon to be back up Syracuse QB sounds pretty lame even by the Bills low standards.
