That is their major value I think

Taro was a legend

I think that is absolutely true. Bates plays all 5 spots which makes him valuable. That trade opens up a spot elsewhere on the roster as I suspect 1 less O lineman will be kept.

Do you guys like the new sky cam?
BubbaT replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually I get your point too. I don't mind the upper deck at the stadium, (and the 1st rows or so are particularly good) mostly because it is much lower than many I've been to. I sat in the very top row of the Rose Bowl for the Bills Super Bowl game and liked it a lot because it just wasn't that high up and because I could stand, support my back some (no seat backs in the Rose Bowl at that point anyway) and not bug anyone behind me. The sky cam though (to me anyway) is just too damn high and I miss routine things. -

No! If sitting that high was considered a good view it would be the most expensive seat in the house. From my living room, I don't want the view from the top of the nosebleeds -
Would you trade a 1 for Zeke?

No. Under no circumstances -
Doomed. I can just about guarantee that if we get down to #3 during the regular season it won't matter if it's Dungy/Jackson or anyone else

The Top 100 Buffalo Bills of All Time
BubbaT replied to Phil The Thrill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It was an interesting list. Obviously impossible to quantify. I go back to the early 60's with the team and what jumped out at me was that George Saimes was too low. In my opinion, he was the best safety in the history of the franchise. He may have been one of the greatest tacklers in NFL history. Those Bills defenses with Sestak, McDole, Dunaway, Day, Stratton, Jacobs, Saimes, Byrd and Edgerton et al were outstanding. Saimes is on the Bills Wall of fame for a reason. There is no way he should be in the 40's in the rankings. Just my 2 cents -

Anything more on Nsekhe? -
This? Also, after practing against the same guys over and over from OTA's through camp, a player can "game' the system by knowing his teammate's strengths and weaknesses and adjusting his plan accordingly. It helps to face different people to see if what works vs player A after 10 weeks works against another player you arent familiar with.

Positional Roster LOCKS and Battles to Watch
BubbaT replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He either is out for the season or for 8 weeks so he isnt coming back any too soon. Plus groin injuries are just nasty to recover from especially for an athlete depending on his running/conditioning. I would not be surprised if he was waived at the 9 week mark -

I think they keep JaQuan Johnson and don't expose him to waivers. While not a high pick I think they like him enough that they see him as a future contributor, a good ST candidate and someone they'd hate to lose on waivers. He is one of "their guys". -
can someone do a game summary in one paragraph please
BubbaT replied to Da webster guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Veni Vidi Vici And I noticed McKenzie a lot more than Ray Ray. Singletary was slippery and game (distance needed) saavy. Tyrell Dodson and Jaquan Johnson were all over the place making tackles -
Doomed

And absolutely none of that has any effect on the 2019 season. None of it.
-
Yep the Bills have only existed for the past 19 years. No history at all prior to that. No experiences somewhat similar to how it looks going in to camp. You told me you grizzled vet you.

I like when national publications/prognosticators/"experts" disregard us. The narrative is Buffalo is always mediocre and the QB isn't very good. I see more positives here than I have in quite a while (which might be damning with faint praise) but I like when expectations from the national press are kept low. Sneaking up on other fan bases and their teams is a fun way to go.

Training camp cant get here soon enough

Bills Stadium Situation A Big, Big Nut To Crack...
BubbaT replied to DefenseWins's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually the vague titles make me more likely to click on them to see what the hell they are all about. -
I never said it wasnt the way to go. Where did I say that? I think they had to do that. They stripped it down to the studs and there was nothing left to build on but marginal OL's and unproven wideouts. They have to try to improve it as best as they can. This will allow them to compete. The FA deals are short for a reason: they can move on and draft their own guys to replace some of the FAs. Just remember, a team had to let these guys go. They werent good enough where they came from. Not many of them were due to finances as these deals arent really that big (with a few exceptions). I just don't think you are looking at a championship level team here yet. To expect a significant playoff run or fire the coach is, I think (just my opinion) too polarized a position to be in. I want to see improvement too. I hope we are talking extensions for all at the end of 2019 myself. I just don't see them moving on from this coach till after the 2020 season if things havent improved or have regressed (especially on D where they have been pretty solid in McD's tenure).
-
Yes. I do not think he gets fired in those circumstances. They are not going to keep turning over Bills coaches every 2 or 3 years, especially one that made the playoffs with Tyrod Taylor and coaxed 6 wins out of a team last year with a rookie QB that is as green as grass and with the worst offensive line and wideouts in team history perhaps. Fans may be impatient and might project big things this year and get bummed when they don't reach it but I doubt management will act till after 2020. I'm hoping the FA's help this year but I'm not convinced signing a ton of them is a viable way to build anything special. It is a time filler till they get better talent on the roster on their own.
