Between the conference craziness and 12 team playoff system, I thought I'm through, it's gotten ridiculous. But as it gets closer to the playoff start, I'm finding it intriguing and realizing, though slim it may be, upsets in Bowl games will have meaning and I'll be tuning into games I would have paid no attention to in the past.

Just an observation from my antiquated 1990's sth's perspective and the rudimentary way things were handled then compared to now. That said, since it was brought up, I don't recall problems getting playoff tickets on short notice then. But obviously the way it is now better serves sth's for a variety of reasons. As far as the details of ST/playoff payment, didn't realize the structure and mandates, again sure it's no problem.

Never realized how hostage like the ST situation works.

There are fans that live vicariously through sports. That this would for some reason matter to them isn’t unusual.

Guessing you were a Geoff Bodine fan. Agree about Earnhardt to a point, but he made them mainstream more than anything. Except for his kid, no one came along after that that had their star appeal. NASCAR overplayed their hand in many ways imo.
