HFD! My 87 y.o. Father is coming over. A full day of hearing how tough it is for him. I mean I get it. He can only ride his bike for 7 miles. He can only walk 3 miles a day. He recently started to wake up at night to pee. He doesn’t wear glasses, hears fine and just dug out a 100 ft. hedgerow, clears and snow blows his 130 ft. driveway, cleans his 1600 sq. ft. house, it’s pretty much spotless. New car every 3 years, drives everywhere. Doesn’t bemoan being alone. …..and tell him he’s fortunate? I don’t dare. (just to add, my brother, sister and myself are definitely fortunate)

The restaurant/bar I worked at in the late ‘70’s was a hopping’ Disco, lines out the door year round. Started there as a long hair dishwasher, thought this music….ugh. It all changed when I started waiting tables late night as the only male, got a haircut and, well I made a lot of money, especially ladies night. 😏

About 25 yrs. ago, my oldest, seemingly overnight, had a full on rap metamorphosis. Snoop, Method Man, Wu-Tang, DMX….became all my favorites(sarcasm). Ironically, it’s about when I started having to bail him out. He’s bustin’ rock now….concrete.
