Are We Setting Ourselves Up For Disappointment?
LyndonvilleBill replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall
As we sit now, we have Diggs, Davis, McKenzie, Hodgings, Kumerow, Stevenson, Beasley. Add Sanders (or FA) and a Draft Pick. I could also see another UDFA on the PS or even a 2nd draft pick depending on how the first 4 rounds fall. I think we currently have everyone we had last year signed except Sanders. -

Nope. Just signed Lil' Dirty and I still expect a Mid- Level FA. Just not at the Kirk level price. More along the lines of a Byron Pringle if we don't get Sanders to come back for 1 more. And of course a Draft pick. -
Edit! McKenzie is back on a 2 year deal worth 4.4 million

Ok. That's it for me. I'm set with FA... I am able to keep my CEO title of the Lil' Dirty fan club.....😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁- 488 replies

Are We Setting Ourselves Up For Disappointment?
LyndonvilleBill replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall
Is it? Will take some CAP magic for sure. 15m for Jones, 8 for Gronk. That's about 23m. Need about 3 for draft, 4-5m for a BU QB and still have to fill several spots. Will be interesting next few days. Personally, I'd skip out on Gronk. -

I hope you have another team in mind.😉. Kirk at 15+M, ain't happening, JC Jackson unless he takes half of what he's projected, ain't happening & Gronk I seriously doubt.... Jones..... I think that maaaaay have some potential. So.... Might want to rethink your statement. 😁 LOL... -

I had a book of 10 when I was married. Once I used all 10 it cost me Jewelry. Could no longer afford the jewelry. Now I'm divorced...🤣🤣🤣 -
Don't have to be under the CAP until 4pm On 3/16. Deals could already be In place, just not announced yet. Plus, I'm not expecting any BIG signings that most others are thinking. One maybe as far as money goes. One in Name only. But we will see soon enough.
-
I thought so as well. I do wonder however, if they want BIGGER guards. I think Bates is slightly over 300, so may be better suited at center than Guard. But has the flexibility they look for. He's got time. Doesn't have to be today.
-
Yes on Bates. Other thought could be maybe the staff isn't as high on Bates as the fans (me included) and he goes back to the bench to backup Morse (C) and Guard spots? 🤔
-
I think we have to re-sign Bates first. My guess is he would be Mongo's or Boetteger 's replacement? 🤔
-
Actually, I can this year. We started with what 16 FA's. We've resigned 2. So far cut 1. That leaves 15 spots to fill not counting any additional potential cuts (Beasley and Star)? At least I think that's where we stand. Tighter CAP going forward? I think this would be the year and to be honest, I'd attempt to trade back in the 1st and pick up an additional late 3 early 4th and make it an even 10.😉

Am I really crazy that I don't want either Barkley or CMC? Neither have played a full season in what 2yrs for CMC and 3 yrs (Rookie season) for Barkley? What makes people think that if we pay 7+ M a year that they will make it through a full season here? Sorry, but sometimes I want NEW and not a Scratch and Dent item. I'll wait for the draft. Maybe I need a Beer.....😂

Are We Setting Ourselves Up For Disappointment?
LyndonvilleBill replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall
True. But I think suttle changes can be quite impactful. Such as a new OL coach, ST coach and a little different thought process with a new OC. Keeping Frazier allows McDermott to spend a little more time with the new coaches and learn as well. I think we will see more improvement this year than we would have with keeping the entire coaching staff and the status quo. Josh will grow and improve regardless of any coach. Just seems to be his nature and personality. -

For the most part I agree. If we were to re-sign all of our FA'S. The only real upgrade needed in my opinion would be a Better CB2 and a RB. Give me a better CB2 and an upgrade to Moss/Brieda at RB, and I am good with running it back. Of course White would have to be 100%. Problem is, it's probably not realistic to re-sign all of our FA'S. -
So, I thought I use the list of visits from the Tracker Thread to see how it laid out with a mock draft. Using the Mock Draft Database simulator, I found it kind of interesting. Seeing I couldn't work in the LB, S and DE visitors, I filled the LB and Safety with the last 2 picks. 25. Z. Johnson OL Boston College 57. J. Metchie WR Alabama 89. C. Cotton TE Washington 129. R. White RB Arizona State 168. L. Bruss OL Wisconsin 184. M. Araiza P SD State 202. J. Thomas CB Texas 229. D. Jackson LB Appalach. State 244. S. Weatherford S Miami Ohio Although, I would have changed a couple based upon who was still available during my selections, such as C. Watson @ 57 and J. Ruckert @ 89 instead of Metchie and Otton, I left it alone. Using this, it leads me to FA target positions. Could be our own or outside. Edge, DT, WR, QB, CB, TE. Take these against the rumor mills and outside thoughts. For Example.... Edge: Outside -Jones, Lawson, Von Miller Inside - Hughes, Addison, Obada DT: Outside - Cox, Hankins Inside - Phillips, Zimmer WR: Outside - Berrios, Kirk, Chark Inside - McKenzie, Sanders QB: Outside - Fitz, Winston, Brissett Inside- (none really) Trubisky? CB: Outside - Douglas, Peterson, Hayward Inside - Wallace TE: Outside - Gronk, Dissly, Engram Inside - No Fa's What do you think?🤔

From my understanding teams have until 3/16 @4pm to be under the CAP. So, I would guess some of the restructuring and cuts may be based upon who they sign in FA over the next few days. I'm pretty confident they already have plans in place In order to play in FA and can adjust on the fly. I don't however expect major signings. I see more mid level and 1 yr deals. A "splash" is a matter of interpretation.

I think it will be 3. If sanders doesn't come back for 1 more, I'd expect a mid level FA to be signed (probably even if he does...🤔) and 2 in this deep draft 2nd round bigger bodied with some speed & 5th or 6th round speedy slot guy that can also handle KR/PR duties.

This is just WAY TOO EARLY for an Ertz thread!😱

Bills' traits players in later draft rounds - Troy Andersen

Waletzo looks pretty much identical to who we drafted last year.... Tommy Doyle. -
Thanks GB. That is a great post and I appreciate you taking the time and adding the link!👍

I have a question. If we receive a comp pick for next year, is it guaranteed? And when will we know we get one? So we would have 2#3's next year?
-
That picture is just not fair to Wyatt!! Makes him look so small.😱

Which WR do you think the Bills will draft?

I have an optometrist appointment scheduled for May. Maybe I'll changed my appointment. 😂 -
Which WR do you think the Bills will draft?
LyndonvilleBill replied to Milanos Milano's topic in The Stadium Wall
In a couple of my others posts and many mocks I haven't posted (different threads) I've mentioned it wouldn't surprise me if we double dipped on WR. I also think think they'll bring in a FA. Probably mid level+. Someone like a Byron Pringle. With the cap savings from Beasley alone, they could probably pay both Pringle and McKenzie. Plus we still have Stevenson that has barely played an offensive snap and Hodgins that hasn't really played that was supposed to be promising. Maybe this year? But I do get what your saying. Never hurts to have extra weapons for Josh.
