He’s shown excellent ball placement at times. I think he’s finally beginning to get comfortable enough with the speed of the game to let his playing style and instincts take over. It seems like it’s almost an unconscious effort when he puts the ball in a spot like that. He was able to do it against the Broncos. He looked off the safety to the right, froze him with the hesitation, quickly pivoted his body to the left and put it beautiful over Anderson’s shoulder on the money for a TD. He needs to clean up things, obviously, as he’s thrown 12 TD’s to 15 INT’s but he’s flashed enough for me to kinda see what the future can have in store.

Think he had some off the field concerns and that is why he went undrafted. which makes sense being that he’s had some at the pro level too. your whole 53 man roster aren’t going to be saints and angels though so as long as he keeps clean and performs, I don’t mind him getting a 3 year deal as much as some other Jet fans might mind. Of course some offset language would have to be involved like voiding his guaranteed money if he is arrested and things of that nature. he can fly though.

Worst coach since Kotite. Maybe not as bad but he’s around that level. Just horrid in game decision making, horrid feel for the situation, no adjustments, terrible stubbornness to play vets over developing young guys. Guy is the worst! And the OC Bates is just as bad. I’m praying that we get rid of him as soon as Week 17 finishes.

I love me some Robby. He only does a few things as a WR though. Probably a good #2 WR. Quincy Enunwa is probably a good #2 as well. This WR draft class is super underrated if you ask me. Plenty of opportunities to get a solid guy or two. I just don’t trust Mike Maccagnan to actually pick the right ones lol. That Robert Foster isn’t too shabby, himself. Got open well for Allen.

As obvious bias will tell you, I like our guy a little more but cannot deny that Allen is very gifted and it’s easy to see why Bills fans feel good about their guy. As for the bolded text, Absolutely. This is something that our fan bases desperately needed prior to the draft. It’s been awhile since either team has had QBs who really have the potential that Darnold/Allen have. Both teams have had their share of busts and journeymen in the recent years and I think it’s finally good to have hope. I think Sam and Josh needed to throw some of these interceptions that they have thrown this year because it’s showing them what they can and can’t get away with on this level of the game and ultimately it will make them better QB’s for it.

I think Allen showed us Jets fans something new and I think Darnold may have shown some of you guys something new. I disliked Allen the entire pre-draft process but he can ball. He seems to throw at his WR rather than throwing with anticipation but he wasn’t going to come in as a polished passer straight out of college anyway. Will he ever elevate to doing those types of things with consistency? I’m not sure. Not because I doubt but simply because I don’t watch him every Sunday as you all do so that is up to you to decide more so than me. Allen showed he can really hurt a Defense in multiple ways and he’s throw some pretty passes too. I think his WR’s had a few drops so that didn’t help his final stat line but he played with his head on fire in the first half. As for Sammy, I think he also showed as previously advertised in college. He extended plays, he throw some jaw dropping throws and he threw a few head scratchers along with it. That interception to Edmonds was just awful. Looked like a rookie mistake — it was similar to Allen’s first interception. Then he threw a duck that could of been pulled in by your DB. Hey, luckily for us, he didn’t hold onto it. That’s just apart of the game. We’d be here for entirely too long if we wanted to sit and count “almost picks” out of any NFL QB’s season. I think he may have shown some of you that he’s definitely got the ability to play big in this league. I think Allen showed you the exact same thing. These two guys clearly need weapons, better OL reinforcement as well as some creative offensive play calling. They are both still pieces of clay needing to be molded into something special but have both shown very optimistic flashes. I hate to sound so homer-ish but boy that crazy Brett Favre/Frank Tarkenton/Steve Young type TD was jaw dropping. And Allen destroyed us with his athleticism all day. I cannot deny. Both QB’s have a future if their respective franchises can help them out along the way. Anyways, I think it’s agrees both our teams need work, we both sit at 4-9 and at the bottom of the AFC East but I don’t think Miami has the QB to take advantage of their decent roster and Brady won’t be around much longer. It’s a race for the better built roster between our teams if you ask me! Because Allen and Darnold have solved the QB vacancy. thanks for reading, all the best. — Jets fan

I just wanna take the time out to thank my lord and savior
-
Pipe down there buddy. Basically what it has come to, yes.
-
I don’t even wanna say good coordinator. He was stuck as an assistant for years and then only after one year of being a full time D-coordinator with a stacked Arizona D has he looked good and immediately moved on to NYJ. but yeah most guys ARE just good coordinators but absolutely terrible coaches.
-
This is the same guy who let Baker Mayfield light him up in his first ever half of football.
-
Nah I don’t think you pay enough attention to NYJ. He’s a defensive minded coach with 7 first round pick defenders, high paid FA defenders and some 2nd rounders with a bottom three ranked defense and his offense plays like it’s 1960 he is useless in that regard.
-
Jeremy Bates is equally as bad. Zero creativity and can’t put his players in positions to win match ups. Run run pass on 3rd and 8 then punt all year
-
You guys are hell looool. No he definitely needs to go. He’s worse than Kotite.
-
Lol I think I enjoyed it more. It’s time to get a coach that coaches like it’s 2018 instead of 1967
-
The entire season is the true reason but this was just the icing on the cake.
-
Thank you for destroying us with a QB you signed a week ago. This is the only way front office grows a pair and fires Todd Bowles. He’s truly the worst coach we have ever had. This sh*t show has to stop and it stops today.

Oh I share the anger. Enunwa is the only player Darnold trusts. Everyone else is just down right awful. -

Andy Reid is also a QB genius and gets the most out of any QB. He also has 3 of the most explosive players in the league and they all play MAJOR skill positions. Its not just all Mahomes. If any other team would of drafted Mahomes, I’m willing to bet my house that he wouldn’t be the same player we are watching right now. -

No problem. I see no reason to. I think Josh Allen is going to be just fine. I admire how aggressive your coaching staff is being with him. We didnt let Darnold do anything Thursday. We didn’t let him audible, we didn’t open the playbook up. It was embarrassing so to see the Bills just let the kid play...that’s what needs to be done. Allen has some juice to his playing style and it’s fun to watch no matter what team you root for. i just hope we fire this horrid staff and get Darnold around a real staff before we ruin the kid. -

Probably tbh. You had the ammo to trade with the Colts but we offered just a little more and also had an inside connection with the Colts front office...if we don’t need to pull the trigger on the trade then that #3 pick most likely becomes yours because no one else was going to outbid your team. -
Sam Darnold Officially Named NYJ Starting QB

Russell Wilson just threw 11 for 21...are you wishfully thinking? -
Final thing i’m going to say about the redskins game.. For those saying that Darnold "stunk" - which of his plays were actually bad? - The INT was definitely a bad play. I think he just didn't see the underneath guy - which is the kind of mistake that good experienced QBs don't make. I'd like to see the all-22 to see what his other options were. But that was probably the worst play he's made in a pre-season game (with the 2nd worst being the near-INT from game 1). - Early on, that throw-away play - that wasn't a good play, but it was a good decision. I don't know about you, but I've often found myself screaming at our clueless QBs to throw the ball away (when it's not 3rd or 4th down). He showed situational awareness, and didn't try to do too much. - For the "dink and dunk" complaints. To me, dink and dunk is take a 7 step drop, scan the field, and then check down to your running back because you don'tthink you can throw anyone open. That's what Chaddid. If instead you take a 3 to 5 step drop, make a quick decision, and gain 5 to 10 yards - well, that's the play design, executed well. Plus - how was he on 3rd down conversions? I don't know the stat, but I think it was a very high conversion rate. The main dink and dunkthing that drives all of us crazy is the 5 yard completion on 3rd and 7. But did that happen? The only time I remember *that* happening was the play before theINT, when maybe Anderson ran his curl too short.
