  1. I agree. It’s what has held the Jets back for years and years. Bowles and Rex think they can run the ball and win games 14 to 7 and it just doesn’t work like that. the QB was already the most important position but now it absolutely is...so much so that if you don’t have a franchise QB it’s very hard to win.(1 post season of Foles as the exception) So now with the QB being even more important, the positions around him as well as his supporting pieces, naturally, become more valuable too. Drafting a DE or Edge doesn’t really do anything for your team’s direction when you have a QB who desperately needs player support and playmaker/protection in order to grow.
  2. He’s more of a late round first-early 2nd to me. But yeah..I just don’t see how taking defensive “stud” moves the needle for your team, my guy. the Jets drafted Leonard Williams at 6 and you could literally stick a no name free agent in his place and we’d still have the same amount of wins/losses He doesn’t move the needle in an offense based league. Jamal Adams, we took him at 6, I love Adams. But you could stick Rontez Miles — our back up — in there and we would have the same amount of wins. you draft premium positions in the first round. Ok I get it.. you’re an ass..no need to keep reminding me lol.
  3. You think K’Neal Harry is a top 10 pick!?
  4. Are you saying you don’t really fancy the Allen pick and/or don’t really believe he can reach a Cam Newton level?
  5. Yes but there really aren’t any Tackles worth spending money on, plus, you have to factor in the chances of whether or not that FA signs with you. They do choose where they sign.
  6. Explosive playmaker. Elite straight line speed. Twitchy athlete who can take the top off the defense as well as play the underneath routes. He does need to run the whole route tree but that’s about my only concern with Deebo. He has the skill set to consistent get separation. Personally I think he’ll develop nicely in the pro’s.
  7. Trade down would be better. Accumulate picks and then grab Offensive building block to support Allen. Just because it’s a very loaded defensive draft doesn’t mean reach and take a defensive player. You could use that to your advantage and the quality of the defensive players push down the Offensive players that wouldnt normally be there in other drafts.
  8. It really doesn’t though. This is a very underrated WR class. DK Metcalf, Deebo Samuel, K’Neal Harry, AJ Brown, Paris Campbell, Marquis Brown and plenty of others can develop into very good players in my opinion. This is a very deep Offensive Line draft and the running backs also look good. Benny Snell, Dave Montgomery, DeAndre Henderson, ect you are just saying it’s a terrible Offensive draft because you aren’t familiar with their names.
  9. Yes, i’ve looked at the draft. I amateur scout every year with fellow Jet fans. I’m not Gil Brandt by any means but, to answer your question, yes, i’m familiar with the prospects. It honestly has nothing to do with the prospects though. It’s more about the right plan that needs to be set in motion in order to support and help develop your rookie QB. is that not the most important thing about your team at the moment? I’d say yes.
  10. A true #1 can always run the full route tree, can catch contested 50/50 balls, has enough athleticism to get consistent separation, can get off press coverage, has good ability to track the ball in the air and solid hands. most of the time, yes, you do want a talller guy because it helps in 50/50 jump balls but it’s not necessarily needed. 6’1 is the threshold for me.
  11. How old are you? 12? This guy gets it^
  12. Wow.. it’s just a sport, dude. We share interests in different teams. Is that really a reason to treat someone like trash?
  13. My guess is that the top 10-15 spot will be about where Greg Little lands just because he has a high ceiling and plays a premium position. Would be ideal to do what the Colts did with us last offseason where they traded back but only traded back a few spots so they felt comfortable that they could stil get their top guy while accumulating draft picks. It’s going to depend on where the Bills land and then who would be looking to trade up into that spot. That may have to be a draft day move as I’m thinking about it. Luckily this is a nice OL draft and the top part of the draft is defense heavy so it could push players like Greg Little down to Buffalo.
  14. It was a simple mistake in which position he plays and yet you are actually condemning me as if I keep up with the Buffalo Bills to know better? A simple and plain correction would of been more suited in this situation. If I didn’t know any better, I’d say you are trying to be an ass towards me because I am a Jets fan. Thankfully, your personality doesn’t match the entire board or else I wouldn’t even bother. Luckily there are some genuine people here. Now back to the topic. I won’t act like I know the Bills roster situation so well but it feels like you’d want to invest high draft capital into a position like the Offensive Line or Wide Receiver in order to build around your franchise’s most important piece, Josh Allen. Greg Little who is a prototypical sized Left Tackle would do wonders for Buffalo as far as protecting the future goes. Trade down? Grab AJ Brown? Just feel like there is more value in adding pieces that can directly impact Josh Allen’s development. I feel like Josh Allen(Kentucky LBer) makes more sense for a team that doesn’t have holes on offense nor’ one that needs to cater to the growth of their rookie QB. Your team is in a very similar situation that my Jets are in. Both need rejuvenation on the offensive side of the ball and fast, as we both have young QB’s that critically need the help. just my two cents. I would pull my hair out if we took the Kentucky edge rusher...even though I think he’s a top 10-15 talent. Josh Allen’s development comes first.
  15. Woah, emotional are we? He played on the edge in college so I thought he did the same in the NFL. Was actually my favorite edge rusher that came out last year... No need to get pissy and carry yourself like a child. I’m merely here for intellectual conversation with other football fans. Obviously you don’t fit that role.
  16. ..didn’t you guys just draft an edge rusher in Edmonds? Why take another in the first when you have other holes to address? more importantly, holes that can drastically help Allen’s development if they were to be filled.
  17. A loss isn’t something I’m worried about in an already lost season sitting at 4-9. The season is about the rookie QB’s progression and he played fantastic. your team’s season is suppose to be about the same at this point. I guess you didn’t get the memo. Again, I’m not pressed, Sam balled.
  18. What do I have cry about? My team’s QB was balling tonight. ::shrug:::
  19. Robby is literally the only player that is any good and he wasn’t even linking up with Darnold until a few weeks ago. He is one of 2 starters out of 9 that caught passes from Darnold today. Andre Roberts is our KR/PR and he’s a terrible WR Kearse has been god awful all year. Enunwa was inactive Herndon is a 4th round rookie TE(the only other starter) Leggett is a back up TE Rashird Mathews was signed two weeks ago and has been nonexistent. Tomlinson is a back up blocking TE McGuire is a 3rd string RB before injuries to Powell and Crowell. Cannon is a 4th string RB So spare me on the BS notion that he had talent around him. He did this all while being forced to play one dimensional because the run game was nonexistent today. The kid just got to where the center wasn’t botching snaps and making him chase the ball every play. His Right Tackle just tore his ACL and the rest of the OL ranks nearly first in pressures and the WR’s are 10th in drops. Darnold grinded out some beautiful plays with, yes, trash around him. Stop being insecure about Allen. He’s good too.
  20. Darnold just spread the ball to 9 different targets and 7 of them were back up players. He showed the ability to elevate the play of the trash around him. That’s the mark of a franchise QB
  21. Woah! Not even us Jet fans would say this.
  22. My stance hasn’t changed.. Mayfield Darnold Allen Jackson Rosen
  23. Absolutely. Same here. Cam Newton is not a terrible QB. He’s definitely a guy with a lot of natural talent and a guy you can win games with. Bills got someone with that mold at #7 when Cam went #1 in 2011. Thats not a bad deal right there, Bill’s fans.
  24. I feel like when I look at a QB with success with such a strong arm, who’s mobile, who doesn’t have the best accuracy..I think of Cam Newton. Cam Newton has been to a super bowl before. Cam has had success. I think Allen has a very similar playing style/traits and that’s how it could work out for him. 58-59% would be bar minimum.
  25. It is extremely hard to predict a QB’s career trajectory in the NFL. It is the single hardest learning curve for any sports position and that is why they make the money they do, get drafted when they do and why there are so few elites. Peyton Manning went 3-13 with 28 interceptions in his rookie year. Elway? Aikman? then you have guys like RG3 who won rookie of the year. It is literally impossible to judge a QB by his rookie season — especially going off of stats. Do stats matter? In some capacity, yes, they are still numerical evidence of how a QB plays BUT... some numbers aren’t and can’t be simply put into context. What if the WR half assed a route and the QB threw it to where he was suppose to be but it gets intercepted? Passes that were intially the correct read but get knocked into the air and picked off? There isnt much context to be had in stats. the best you can do is take things, both positive and negative, into consideration and try to project if what you are seeing can be fixed with experience or offseason self evaluation. I think both QB’s will be fine in the long run but will need help from their organizations to succeed as any player would.
