  1. This is a team that could go undefeated. Having saying that, there is always the occasional fluke. Maybe 5-1 in the AFC East, because there's normally "that game". Last yeah was the wind game. Even in NE's run of dominance there was that one game most years (usually vs. Miami). Throw in a potential WTF game (JAX last year). Then 1-2 possible losses against the big boys. That still gets you to 14-3 or 13-4. I'd bet over.
  2. Hey, if anyone's updating a dictionary, I think I've found a new definition for the word "Entitled". 🙄
  3. Another thing to consider... Team 1 gets the ball, drives for a TD and kicks the extra point. Team 2 then gets the ball and gets a TD. Do they now go for two (with slightly less then a 50% success rate), or do they kick the extra point? The odds are slightly against you if you go for two, but kicking the extra point now puts you in sudden death with the other team now having a crack at ending it before you do. The more I think on it, the more I see advantages both ways.
  4. One advantage to getting it first. If you drive deep but don't score, you punt and pin them very deep, maybe even close to their goal line. Get a three and out and you get good field position and only need a FG now for the win.
  5. Let it go. You'll feel better. Yes, 13 secs sucks and cost us a golden chance. Nobody is saying otherwise. But there is absolutely nothing to be gained from dwelling on it. Bills could have won Super Bowl XXV if they just ran the ball more, or made that kick. Could have won XXVIII if Thurman didn't fumble. The Bills have squandered prime opportunities before. It hurts, but dwelling on it does no good.
  6. To be fair, best team does not equal Super Bowl win. If so, I believe the Bills would have easily been Super Bown XXV Champions. I'm excited by this year's team, but nothing's in the bag yet.
  7. I realize that, and know it would never happen. I tried to hint on that with the whole off the wall comment. Suppose I should have said something like purely hypothetical or such. Figured it would be fun to get people's opinions. Not sure everyone here would actually want him in favor of our other QBs, so I said it simply for speculation.
  8. Off the wall idea, what if Mayfield came here for a year as backup? You know, trying to Trubisky up his career? If he actually wanted to, and was willing to take a Trubisky contract, would you want/take him?
  9. Sorry, honest question. Not looking to ruffle feathers. I know draft speculation can be fun, and I'm all for it. Thinking who a team might want in what round and all. But mock drafts are all balanced on the head of a pin. One team makes one unexpected move and the whole thing falls apart. How accurate do they end up being, especially this early on? It seems like an incredible amount of effort trying to get into the head of 32 GMs and understanding each team's needs, only to have the whole thing blow up on a single pick that doesn't go as predicted. As I noted, I'm more interested in speculation such as, "Will the Bills go for a CB in round one or two?" and "What round should we nab a WR, and who's out there?". That kind of stuff. I mean, how accurate has any mock draft been in the past? Have there been any that have actually been close to the actual draft they predicted? I mean, there are a million of them, so I'm guessing I'm missing something. To me it just seems too fragile to be worth the time and effort. It would be like "Predict the first 10 offensive snaps for the Bills opening day." It just takes one play not going as planned to completely invalidate the list from that point on. So, why do people do them? Again, not being nasty about it. I'm honestly curious.
  10. "I'd like to report a crime. Yeah, just saw a Washington player throw an agent under the bus..." Sorry, McKissic. I've been looking for awhile now, and still don't see anyone buying the whole "I don't remember" bull patties you're dropping.
  11. So, the QB that everyone was saying was the least ready for the NFL and was going to take time to develop...took time to develop? ^.-
  12. These are unspoken rules every team follows though. Washington is screwing players and teams for short-term gain, but will pay for it when other teams start to shun them because they no longer trust them.
  13. Crush the life out of Washington the next time we play them, run up the score and send a message about screwing the Bills? More on what I think you meant, it's tough. Cap money is tight. I'd like another TE that can catch the ball. If you can't cover all of Josh's weapons he will shred you. That, however, might be done via the draft.
  14. If you're Washington, why burn bridges when you're not a contender? I mean other teams, agents and players aren't going to trust Washington the slightest bit with all the bullpoop they've been pulling this offseason.
  15. The GM position works, to a degree, on professionalism and mutual respect. Washington screwing people is a sneaky, short-term gain, but will cost them hard long-term, when nobody, player, GM or agent is going to trust them at all. And Washington isn't even a contender. You pick now to burn your bridges?
  16. They are, but I think it comes down to wording. Critical suggests it almost has to happen, and the odds of succeeding are terminally low otherwise. For example, the way the divisional round was going, it was critical to win the OT coin toss. The Bengals and Rams proved it's not critical to get the top seed. Critical suggests that if we don't get the top seed it will be near impossible to win the conference, and I simply can't back that. But yes, I think our opinions are quite close, just a niggling lil disagreement on wording. I got this round. 🍻 (Hmm...no idea how you made the emoji bigger. These are more like shot glasses now. >.>)
  17. Remind me again, which of last year's conference champions were the #1 seed? Important, yes. Anytime you have to play one less game (where anything could happen from injury to fluke loss) and a week to rest banged up players is an amazing advantage, as is home field the whole way to the big game. But it is not critical. Teams have won the Super Bowl as Wild Cards. Let's not overstate it.
  18. Two sides. I agree with GunnerBill and due process. People sometimes jump to conclusions, and yes, sometimes people make false accusations. I am not going to say for sure he did it unless he is convicted. With that being said... He would not have to be convicted for me to feel wrong rooting for him. There is not enough out there to really know one way or the other atm, so you need to follow your gut in regards to rooting for him. I, for one, would feel sick doing so. Not because he is a sexual predator, but because I feel he likely is. Browns fans have to make the same decision now. As for swinging this back to the Browns fans, I feel bad for them. Imagine drafting Allen, having a year or two of hope finally after being terrible for so long, only to see him regress like Mayfield did. And then giving up a ton of 1sts for Watson. I remember Browns fans (in the brief time the Browns didn't exist) coming up to Buffalo one game in a show of support. Great fans. So yeah, I feel for them.
  19. This left me stunned. For me he was great in a way I didn't sometimes think of him, but somehow felt like he was always going to be there. A constant good thing if you will, like the sun or local pizza. RIP and thank you. You'll be missed, John.
  20. "I heard Josh Allen doesn't throw the ball hard. His feet push the Earth the opposite direction that hard!" Oh...wait...this isn't one of those threads? 🤔
  21. If he makes us shed a tear, he's gone!!! Sorry, couldn't resist. 😁
  22. If Mitch is going to be a backup, why not stay here where he's got it good? I'd have to think, if I'm him, I'd only go where I was assured a starter spot.
  23. Two possessions. Coin toss determines who goes first, winner can take or defer. Team that gets the ball first gets a drive. If they get a TD they cannot go for two. Then, the other team gets the ball and needs to do better then the last drive or they lose. Still not perfect, but fairer. In the case of the Bills/Chiefs game, KC got 7. Bills would have one drive to get 8 to win. Team that goes second has the advantage of knowing how much they need, but the disadvantage of needing more points.
  24. Can you imagine if Arizona spent back to back first round draft picks on QBs that flamed/bailed out?
  25. Home, white helmet and pants, blue jersey. Road, all whites. Alternate ideas... Home, white helmet and pants, red jersey. Road, red helmet and pants, white jersey. ...just food for thought.
