NFL Week 11 Browns at Bills (Detroit) - 1st half game thread
The Red King replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I have tried very hard not to blame the coaching staff, but at this point I am unimpressed with any of them. Dorsey looks lost, the play-calling is suspect at best. Frazier cannot adjust, looks a step behind. And McD has lost the team. He needs to get this team focused and is failing. -

For F's sake, get Davis off the field and Shakir in. !@#$% -

Just wow. This is getting sad, early. -
What does it say about the state of QB Rodgers and the Pack atm, that many of us were successfully baited?

NFL Week @10 - Vikings at Bills - 2nd half game thread

Why wasn't it whistled dead? Refball at its finest. -
You knew the offensive line would get torched and Allen would get drilled by a hit that no QB could have evaded well enough or threw away quick enough? Do yourself a favor, Google "Confirmation Bias". This injury is a result of the line being a turnstyle that play, not anything to do with Josh's play.

Wasn't Diggs also known as a distraction in the locker room? Glad we kept away from that guy. Who knows how badly he would have poisoned our locker room.

Discussion on it is fine. A number of replies here directly mention our potential positioning. I was referring to the ones that said nothing about playoff positioning, and just went on a rant about the team/loss. Sorry, I should have been more specific, I just realized I've been wording it poorly.

Can we talk about how 2 teams in a row ran it down our throat...
The Red King replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall
To many injuries in the secondary. D-line has to provide support, making it harder to pass rush or stuff the line. -
As noted, this was posted b/c a lot of people were saying we lost home-field, and I wanted to set the record straight. Now if I had shown any optimism/opinion, such as "Relax, we're still the #1 Seed" or such, then yes, I'm inviting comments about my optimism. Like I said, this is a PSA. People are really out there looking for any thread they can P&M on today, even if it's completely off-topic, aren't they?

How did I get a thumbs-down on my OP? There was nothing there but hard facts. Would be like getting a thumbs-down for saying there are 17 games this season. I just don't get some people. 🤷♂️

I'm less worried about the defense overall. They're trying to form a solid D out of dental floss and chewing gum at this point. The D-Line is hung out to dry by the walking wounded we have as our Secondary. If we can get our stars healthy and out on the field (and keep them there), the D will be fine. Special teams leave me feeling a lil gassy. Uncomfortable, but not a point of concern yet. We needed that three b/f halftime. While we got bailed out, that kickoff OoB was terrible, and not the first this season. The Jets seemed to gash our coverage on returns. Offense worries me. We need to establish a run game, and fail to do so. Something is wrong with Josh. Not sure if it's physical wear down or psychological, but he has not been right for six quarters now. We need improvement at WR and hope that we can still land OBJ (which until this game I didn't see an urgent need to do). I'd like to see Shakir involved more. I reserve judgement on Hines as he just got here and is still learning, but he looked good on that deep overthrow. Cook looked good, too. I'd like to see far more of those two going forward. The O-line is under siege. I still recall a perfectly dialed screen pass that resulted in two blockers running right past the defender that ultimately stuffed the play. Most of this can be corrected, and I have hope. Coaching. I have defended this staff for the most part over the years, but this was a horribly coached game. We finally figure out we need to run the ball, and then try doing nothing but run. Cook looked good all game, but gets pulled for the veteran when the game gets dicey. To much indecision. Someone needed to settle that team down, both sides of the ball, and it never happened. Blame the head coach for that, and to a lesser degree the coordinators. However, the coordinators are fully to blame in other areas. Like a poor guy trapped in a office meeting with 100 degree heat and women in the room, no adjustments were made at all. That concerns me. Maybe not so much defense, because our tattered backfield made adjustments difficult, but there is no excuse for lack of offensive adjustments. Games can be won or lost on these (ref: Cincy @ KC), and right now we don't seem up to the task. I am not at a point where I'm predicting doom and gloom. I still believe we are one of the best teams in the NFL. That said, I'm not keeping rose-colored glasses on. This team has holes at this point. Some should fill themselves, like getting our D healthy. Others can be filled, such as getting OBJ, running more and better mixing run and pass, getting a QB whispered to find out what's up with Josh and so on. I hope this game is a reality check. This team isn't going to cruise control to a Championship. I still have faith though, that they can fight and claw a way to one.

None of this has to do with the thread topic. There are other, appropriate, threads to complain in. It's like somebody posting a thread "Stadium traffic lighter then expected today", and people replying "Not as many people there because we didn't draft an o-line." and "Less reason to watch because we don't have a #2 wideout!". Please, keep it on-topic, peeps.

This thread was only to point out where we stand right now. I've seen some people talk like we lost homefield today and wanted to set the record straight. Think of it as a PSA. This isn't the thread to discuss how they played today, or concerns going forward. Already another thread for that.

Just a reminder that while this loss hurts our chances at homefield, it didn't cost us it. Buffalo's wins over KC and Tenn. give us the tiebreaker over both, as well as the tiebreaker in a three-way tie. We're still in the pole position. We just let some cars get right up our butt.

Hate that it's come to this, but sign the man. We need him.
