  1. This is 100% true. I grew up closer to Pittsburgh than Cleveland, and 95% of the people I grew up with were "diehard" Steelers fans.......until they had a down year. Suddenly, its was like a ghost town when it came to football. No gear, no flags, no trash talk, nothing. They're all huge fans until it's tough.
  2. I confused as to who they went with as "big stars"? They traded for OBJ, so that's definitely one, but most of the other "star" players have been drafted by Cleveland, or picked up on the cheap. Garrett, Chubb, Ward, Bitonio, Teller, Newsome are all players that are "star" or close to it that were drafted or acquired cheaply. Several are more expensive now on their 2nd contracts, but obviously that's the goal for almost every team. Even Clowney was signed relatively cheaply, and he produced, so now it's a debate on whether to resign him or not. Landry has a bigger contract than his production warrants, but they can get out of it now for net to nothing. If Cleveland cuts Landry and Hooper, which seems likely, they have around $62 million in cap even with all the guys above signed. They would then had needs at WR, LE, and DT as major points to address via FA and the draft. Njoku sure seems like he will be back, so I don't thing TE is a major need between him and Bryant.
  3. Since when is Hunt a smurf? He's 220.
  4. The difference is Hayes hit an opposing player, completely unprovoked, on the field, during the game. Howard obviously make a dumb choice in escalating the situation, but the other 2 coaches grabbed him, and also grabbed 2 of his players. So stop comparing the 2. Howard deserved to be punished, and he was.
  5. Woody Hayes punched an opposing PLAYER, during a game, on the field. Completely different situation. Howard was suspended, and rightfully so. Assault? You kidding me Clark?
  6. Which QB is Washington trading up for?
  7. Bill O'Brien was a pretty good HC until he somehow got roster control too. Bill the GM ruined Bill the HC.
  8. Baker is trending down. If he doesn't greatly improve, then yes, it was a stupid pick.
  9. Any team that does not have a franchise quarterback and passes on one is stupid. It doesn't matter the situation. Again, it worked out for Buffalo in the long run but that doesn't mean the decision wasn't stupid.
  10. Pretty sure a ton of teams have an assistant OL coach.
  11. It was stupid. Passing on a franchise QB when you don't have one is stupid. And yes, most people didn't realize what Mahomes would become, and anyone team that passed on him without a franchise QB before the Bills did are also stupid. And the Chiefs had Alex Smith at QB when they drafted Mahomes. I would never categorize Smith as elite, but he was a good QB at that point in his career. He had 26TDs and 5 INTs Mahomes' rookie year in 15 games.
  12. Yeah, people always just throw out the "He lost to Ohio State" while completely ignoring that Ohio State has had a huge recruiting lead for years now, mainly due to the Rodriguez/Hoke down years and underachieving. Harbaugh hasn't been perfect by any means, but he has greatly improved the teams since he arrived. His main downside was his loyalty to Don Brown. Once he replaced him, the defense matched up a lot better to spread/speed teams.
  13. To be fair, not drafting Mahomes was completely stupid. Just because it worked out a year later doesn't mean that passing him was a good call. Just dumb luck that worked out. As far as who is better, they're all so close at this point it doesn't really matter.
  14. No team is going to tie up 30% of their cap on a player they don't even have. And I doubt the Steelers are going full rebuild after they snuck into the playoffs. They need a QB and they'll at least be competative.
  15. Steelers can't trade Watt. WAY too much dead money for them to eat. But yeah, I still had some minor turnover doubts about Allen to start the year, but congrats, you got a top tier QB from here on out. Dude has had the physical ability the entire time, but he developed more than I ever thought he could.
  16. He lost control with both hands and recaught it, but by then he was out of bounds. If he didn't bobble it would have been a catch.
  17. Double caught it. By the time he secured it, he had touched out of bounds.
  18. The simple fact that you are comparing Ben and Brady, and chalk it up to steroids, is laughable. Ben is the opposite of what a NFL player should be in terms of taking care of himself. He is notoriously unhealthy.
  19. In one post, you claim it was a heart attack "from something else" then in another your article says "from unknown sources." So which is it? What evidence do you have?
  20. Kneel it out!
  21. It's either a "hot" coordinator or a retread HC.
  22. Again, the majority of the top of your quote is pure speculation. The only one that was confirmed to be an issue was Mayfield and Jackson. The others are speculation and that's it. I never once saw anything where he "hated" Kitchens or Stefanksi. And your whole first statement is what Cabot wrote, and again, it's speculation. Unless she talked to Stefanski or Mayfield, it's speculation. They had barely finished the game and there is an article about him wanting to be traded. Cabot writes articles for clicks, and subscriptions now as well. Some are overly complimentary. Most are speculation and inferences based on nothings. You don't just run a story based on a source unless you can verify the information. And it's not just her, it's media as a whole. The entire sports media just throws up "sources" on every report with no basis whatsoever. A lot, like Schefter, have proven over the years to obviously verify things because it is extremely rare they are wrong. Also, I was never saying Beane is terrible, just making the comparison because every GM out there makes a bad trade or drafts a bad player. It happens.
  23. Right, but just any random article you found is more credible? Dorsey also drafted Mahomes, so I guess he's total garbage huh? Ward? Chubb? He was a pretty decent GM, though he missed a lot in the middle rounds, just too full of himself and chose to due on the Freddie Kitchens hill in Cleveland. Is Beane bad for trading Teller to.........Dorsey? I'm not saying it's not possible that Mayfield had input, but just as much (or more) points the other direction.
  24. The thing is, Baker didn't say anything about this situation until Cabot posted an article that is pure speculation. That's her issue. She implies stuff nonstop and then write articles about that as if it is legit. I am sure Mayfield and Stefankski have some issues as the season didn't go as planned. I think any fan would admit it. But Cabot has been writing crap stories like this for years, not just since Mayfield has been there.
  25. They changed that a couple years ago. Limit of 4 comp picks per team, and also a limit on the total number, so it can vary quite a bit.
