Right, I tend to disagree with children making any life changing decisions when they are CHILDREN. The same as the with the pedophile situation. I do not agree with any law that would institute requirements of doctors, and I honestly disagree with performing any such actions while the child is under age. As an adult, people can do what they want. But again, the original discussion was that LGBTQ was trying to incorporate pedophiles, and when the discussion shifted to show that by in large that isn't the case, now you keep moving the goalposts. I find the whole gender being "fluid" situation very odd and I honestly don't understand it, but if that person is an adult, and wants to be "gendered" as something not of which they were born, more power to them, but they have to live with the consequences that come with it. I would never attack or discriminate in the sense of their rights, but I honestly probably wouldn't make that person a large part of my personal life either.

Let's even say that's true. That doesn't mean people are going to normalize hurting kids. For whatever reason, people always jump to the "they're going to want to legalize sex with kids and animals" are the 2 I always see, but it's always some made up scenario from people who disagree with LGBTQ, and not anyone that has information to back it up. Just because that is somehow your next "logical" step does not mean that would be the next logical step for the people you are talking about.

You can't just say " the next thing on the roadmap" anytime you want. You can literally say that about anything under the sun because it hasn't happened yet. The next step in protecting QBs in the NFL is putting them in pink tutus on the field. See how that works? There will be a very, very tiny portion of the population who does want acceptance for the sexualization of minors, and it won't be accepted, and rightfully so. Every single one of the other portions of the LGBTQ groups is between consenting adults. THAT is the difference. Sexual activity between adults is fine, and should be fine, however the relation comes to be. The reason pedophilia is NOT the same is because children cannot, and should not be able to consent to sexual activities. Again, most pedophiles AREN'T part of the LGBTQ movement. They are heterosexual in their adult relationships.

I'm not sure I agree with this. Nebraska hasn't been truly great since option football was a thing. They have been ranked in the top 10 for 4 weeks in the last 12 years. They have a history, but the landscape of college football has changed a great deal since then. If they make the right coaching hires they can obviously rebound, but I don't think it's sure thing in saying they will bounce back.

Travis Hunter was the first 5 star EVER to go to a school the size of JSU as a recruit. Now, some have transferred, but you can't deny that Sanders can recruit with the best of them, even with a huge disadvantage in regards to the school he was at. Also, Alabama has 22 5 AND 4 star recruit, not 22 5 stars. There is a much smaller pool of 5 star recruits every year. For 2022, there were 34 5 star players. There were 332 4 star players. Still amazing that they had that many, and the history of Alabama's winning and producing NFL players sells itself.

Congrats To The Fans Of The 4 Playoff Teams.....
cle23 replied to Bill from NYC's topic in College Football
Yes, and so did Don Brown when he was at Michigan. Except he got burned constantly when they played good, fast teams. Knowles is a very good DC, no doubt. But a lot of star athletes on OSU's defense underperformed some, especially on the DL and in the secondary. -

Knowles is over aggressive, so if his aggression fails, they give up huge plays. Michigan was great on defense too with Don Brown until good teams could capitalize on their aggressive style to gash them. Knowles doesn't impress me much at all. -
I'm not a huge fan of the portal either, but if coaches can lie to these players to get them signed, and then leave, then players should have the same chance. In my opinion you have to fix both before you can just fix the players.

Transfer Portal is killing college football
cle23 replied to ArdmoreRyno's topic in College Football
Most college rosters are 100-120+. They'll be fine fielding a team. -
I agree no one should get a pass, but that's exactly what OSU got. It's not that big of a deal because they're probably a lot better than USC anyway, but it's just the principle of it. And like you said, they are correcting it next year anyway with the 12 teams.
-
The main issue I have is OSU is essentially rewarded for NOT making their conference championship. And I understand this isn't the first year it's happened. But teams shouldn't be rewarded for sitting at home.

So he's accepting the Cincinnati job tomorrow? 😁
-
No. No they will not. I am sure there are a few fringe people fighting for that, but there are no major LGBTQ groups fighting to include pedophiles. Just because people (mostly "conservatives") keep repeating the "What's next, pedophiles/animals/etc?" arguments doesn't mean that it is actually happening.

Will same sex marriage be codified in Congress?
cle23 replied to Doc Brown's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I honestly think for the longest time it was called "gay marriage" because it was not allowed. At the time, they were different. Now, in the eyes of the government, they are not, so I feel there is no need for them to be different. I was not accusing you of anything hateful either in response. People can have differing opinions, I just try to show WHY it may be important to people on the other side of the argument. -
Many pedophilia groups have tried to incorporate themselves into the LGBTQ community, but that does not mean that the LGBTQ community wants them there. Most of the pedophilia groups try to get themselves closer so that it will become more normalized, but again, that doesn't mean the LGBTQ groups are accepting of it. A vast majority of pedophiles are heterosexual in their adult relationships, and those that aren't tend to be uninterested in either adult sexes. There are obviously some homosexual pedophiles as well, but it is a very small percentage.

Die Hard is not a Christmas movie. It has become a tradition at Christmas, but a movie must be Christmas themed in some way to be a Christmas movie.

. - the legally or formally recognized union of two people as partners in a personal relationship - the state of being united as spouses in a consensual and contractual relationship recognized by law -an act of marrying or the rite by which the married status is effected especially : the wedding ceremony and attendant festivities or formalities -an intimate or close union Who is using 2 words? You literally have said multiple times in this thread that we should make a new, separate word for "gay marriage," and then in turn also say using 2 words to define something is lazy. The above definitions all meet and describe any "type" of marriage. It works for everything. My wife and I are married. My brother and his husband are also married. Our marriages, especially in the eyes of the government, mean the same thing. Also, if the word means so much to people in "traditional" marriages, why then do people think it wouldn't mean something to everyone else as well? Everyone gets married, and everyone is happy with that, except the people who want everyone to have to call it something different. If it means that little, let's change "traditional" marriage to another word. Does that work for you? -
I mean, to be fair though, the argument could be made for the opposite as well. "Conservatives" were in a giant uproar over violation of free speech when they felt they were getting their speech violated, but now are all for it if they approve of the guy who is now in charge of who gets censored. I don't think people should get censored, but I also don't think people should have free reign to make threats and spread crazy lies and disinformation intentionally wither. Fine line on how to handle that though.

He would be dumb to not take it that job if offered. He has been in Ohio for most of his life, and Cincinnati is a decent team. Not a complete rebuild, and he would be familiar with their system I would assume following Fickel.

College Football Playoff & Conference Championships - Projections

I hate OSU, but this is dumb. Alabama lost 2 games. OSU lost once. Neither of them deserve to be there though. -

NFLPA claims Owners colluded to not give out fully guaranteed contracts
cle23 replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's different because the salary cap is negotiated with the NFLPA. -
My favorite part of the Trump stimulus checks is now every Republican I know is blaming Biden for the inflation when Trump had more stimulus money than Biden by far. Also, student loan forgiveness is stupid. You took the loan, now pay it back. I am all for loan reform, and believe it needs to happen, but we can't just forgive debt because we feel like it. Even if they want to go after predatory loans and make more affordable, I am ok with that, but straight up forgiveness is beyond dumb. The main issue with loans isn't the loan itself, but the fact that people who otherwise wouldn't qualify for an appliance loan are given hundreds of thousands of dollars just so universities can vastly overcharge for their "services." The value these schools provide isn't worth a tenth of what they charge.

Speaker Pelosi's Home Has Been Attacked

I agree cutting the supply would help, but how do we do that? Work at the border could help, but the cartels are multibillion dollar corporations at this point, and they will find other ways in. Not to say you don't try, but they ship via shipping containers, ports, plane, boat, and tons of other ways. Hell, Chinese fentanyl sellers are mailing drugs using the USPS.
