By the end of his time in Buffalo he was possibly the only guy on the team with any heart. I’ll remember him running down that guy who made an interception in his last year or two in Buffalo more than any other play. Everyone else was standing around.

I disagree, I think everyone wants to see him succeed. We kind of saw that vitriol with EJ Manuel, but the guy was literally hitting the hospital tent on his throws in his 2nd or 3rd season. Allen doesn’t have area code accuracy issues. I think most fans will prove to be cautiously optimistic with Allen as long as he isn’t throwing 5 picks a practice.

We picked him so I’m pulling hard for the kid now. Before the draft I didn’t want him. I think the Bills made a lot of good personnel decisions last year, so I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt.

I think both are likely busts. Rosen’s ability is vastly overrated. Trading up to 2 for Darnold was the move if it was true that they had the ammo to do it. If the Bills kept their 2nds I’d feel okay even though I have my doubts about Allen. I don’t like that every one acknowledges he is a project, yet our Oline is in shambles, our receivers are bottom tier, our offensive coaches are unproven at best (awful at worst), and our only stud Shady is in his last year or so. They just put Allen in an impossible situation. I love the LB they got, but that doesn’t help Allen.

EJ Manuel all over again. Couldn’t even throw for 300 yards against trash. In many ways this is the same QB Buffalo has had for 20 years. There is just no hope for this franchise.

With the plethora of “good” QBs available this year, coupled with the number of willing trade partners from 2-6. It almost seems like the teams at the top are now competing to trade down to acquire Buffalo’s picks. Buffalo can conceivably stand pat at 12 and keep their other first. All That considered, this should be as favorable a year as possible for a QB trade up.

They’re just projecting again, those 2 have been filling each other’s holes for years.

I think Darnold will be a star from close to day 1 and Rosen will be propped up by the media for possibly a few years, but ultimately flop. Mayfield may be a star his rookie season, but I’m not confident he’ll retain that in years 2, 3, 4 and beyond. I think Rudolph will turn into a star in year 2 or beyond. I think Allen will be a bust pretty quickly and Lamar Jackson will struggle to hold a starting job across 3+ seasons.

I’m with the OP, the combine and draft always get me to rub one out with all those bodies.

I would say that has a lot to do with it. He is still better than anyone currently on our roster.

I remember Losman saying he wanted to be the greatest of all time too... IMO Rosen will be another bust. When I watch him I don’t see anything special, even though I want him to be good.
