Back on the BBMB I remember folks saying the Bills were just playing vanilla defense in preseason and that they would look totally different in the regular season. Time and time again, what we saw in the Regular Season was the same as Preseason. I don’t think they could really effectively gameplan for Josh for at least a few weeks or until midseason. I trust McD regardless of what he decides for the Regular Season, he has earned the benefit of the doubt from me.

So much ESPN brainwash in this thread. Matt Cassell stepped in and was BETTER than Brady in that system, yet was a total scrub on other teams. The system revolves around cheating and on any other team TODAY (let alone past eras) Brady would look like a scrub. Peyton would have at least 10-15 Super Bowls if he played in that system and had the benefit of all that cheating. Any success related to that team under Bellicheck is meaningless.

If anything, the Track and Field training would help Goodwin’s conditioning. Buffalo messed up by putting him on kick returns, CHOOSING not to put him on the field, and pairing him with QBs like Manuel and Tyrod who both suck as passers and have a knack for hanging their receivers out to dry. Goodwin didn’t emerge in SF until Jimmy took the reins, which goes to show it was mostly QB play that held him back.

Peterman was destined to throw 8+ picks against the Chargers if he didn’t get pulled. It should definitely be McCarron or Allen starting. Peterman can’t throw out patterns hard enough.

Cutting O’Leary would be a mistake. He has been more reliable than injury prone Clay.

I can’t believe there is any negative feedback on Allen. I was a doubter pre-draft, but he already blew away anything we saw from EJ Manuel. The biggest thing that impressed me was his vision and aggressive decision making. When he starts, the days where we watch our QBs refuse to throw past the first down marker will be gone. He understands when to take chances. He had a couple rookie mistakes, but will probably be ready to start by midseason. This kid will really challenge defenses. Teams won’t be able to squat on the line of scrimmage regardless of our receivers.

Allen was off the charts. He had a couple rookie mistake type of throws, but was mostly very impressive in terms of arm strength, accuracy, ball placement, and decision making aggressiveness. McCarron looks like a serviceable game manager in the meantime. We finally have a QB on the roster who can keep the D on their heels.

Incognito put forth a tremendous effort on the field, was way underpaid, and did bizarre “not all there” things like accuse someone in a weight room of being a spy, then chasing him around and throwing a dumbbell at him. Dareus was lazy on the field, whined about only being offered $90 million from Bills, and made extremely selfish decisions like street racing and nearly killing people and now apparently intentionally spreading STDs. Richie appears to be legitimately whacked out, while Dareus faced traumatic emotional experiences but still consciously makes extremely selfish choices.

It’s going to ruin my enjoyment if there isn’t equality. I expect to see camel toe from the girls and package bulges from the boys.

Yes, too good of a route runner. Tyrod struggled to even attempt to throw to receivers. He can be dynamite when paired with Allen’s strong arm. In fact I thin he’ll be Allen’s favorite receiver.

If Allen is good enough to start, ‘18... otherwise ‘17. Allen should be so much better than Tyrod as a passer that this offense will take steps forward despite weaknesses at OL and receiver. If Zay Jones can take a big leap forward we may even have a “good” offense when paired with Allen. Plus, I’m expecting another step forward for the defense. If McCarron starts I think we’ll be looking at a 7-9 or 6-10 type of season. He is a downgrade from Tyrod. Not a good look for Allen if McCarron starts more than a few games. I don’t even want to entertain the thought of Peterman starting.

One takeaway from a recent interview with Beane was that they were desperate on draft day not to get stuck with Rosen. I wanted Darnold the most, followed by Mayfield. I was initially really disappointed with the Allen pick. Allen has really impressed me since then and I get a sense that he will “belong” in the conversation for best young QB. I just feel that “it” factor... the one Whaley proclaimed for EJ, but which I never felt.

It’s more like one network has some credibility (Fox), another network lost all credibility (CNN), and there is no great option for consuming political news via television. Both parties pretty much suck and steal from the poor to line their own pockets. The Uniparty...

The bit about DaBoll being pissed is the best news I’ve read so far. This was one of my biggest gripes during the Tyrod era... receivers not looking for the ball.
