  1. I remember thinking he looked really good coming out. I’d like to see what McD could do with him. Obviously skeptical of how he has panned out for the 49ers so far, but maybe he could be another Jerry Hughes type of story for us.
  2. Yeah, I was on the BBMB at the time getting balked at for claiming we should draft Wilson in the 1st. IIRC, they traded up in the 3rd and I thought for sure they were drafting Wilson. We would have never drafted EJ the next year too. I blame Chan’s mancrush on Fitzpatrick.
  3. AJ Brown, I feel more confident in him than any other receiver in the draft.
  4. IMO it looks like they set out to raise the floor at OL and WR during FA because many of our starters were the worst in the league. There was almost no limit to how bad they could be. I think they want to take those units and turn them into strengths during the draft, but depending on how the chips fall they are in a spot now where they can take BPA regardless of position. In essence, they aren’t letting other teams box them into needing to draft a certain player due to position weakness.
  5. There were rumblings a while ago that Allen wants Metcalf as well. I think you have to take that into consideration if you are the FO. They put him in a **** situation last year. McDermott has shown an ability to scheme differently when the run defense becomes a liability. We need guys getting open for Allen more than anything else on the team. Whether drafting an OL or WR will accomplish that can be debated, but IMO we only have a bunch of high-end WR3s right now.
  6. After Corey Davis and Mike Williams went in the top 10 a few years ago, I’m not sure why Metcalf WOULDN’T go top 10.
  7. My gut tells me Metcalf is the pick if he is still there at 9. I don’t think they’ll pass up the chance to draft a true #1 type of receiver, despite the whole New England offense deal.
  8. I tend to agree with the OP that Whaley is an idiot for not recognizing that the Chiefs were after a QB. Whaley couldn’t scout QBs for **** anyways. He probably could have got the Chiefs to cough up more picks though.
  9. I just hope it is talent he is oozing (as others suggest in this thread) when you hold his balls.
  10. She has nothing to worry about, he was very professional when he held my balls.
  11. I’m disappointed in Wilson for basically tanking the team. What will he do with all that money? I hope if it gets to that point with Josh, where he reaches that level, that he’ll do the Brady home team discount. These QB contracts kill their team’s ability to win Super Bowls. Just seems selfish to me that he is handicapping the guys that are stuck in a deal for the next few years. The guys who actually put their bodies on the line every week. The Brady discount is the most under appreciated aspect of that dynasty. While Brees and Rodgers ensure their team will no longer win, Brady swoops in and takes all the glory.
  12. I almost posted a picture of my butt, then I realized nobody else is posting pictures of their butts. -1 for misleading thread.
  13. Nothing but love from me Ice!
  14. My post was more in the vein of Boca’s post...
  15. Well duh, it goes soft when you already bust.
  16. I think Harry will be a total bust. Game speed looks really slow to me.
  17. Are these two parallel threads!? Righteous! I’ll assume so and answer accordingly. The reasons I feel I take this to be a function of the basic human existence of a non-sociopath (although I’ve become more numb and less temperamental over time). Josh Allen will be great I agree!
  18. I just don’t get how drafting either guy helps us beat New England. They will just get held every play and neutralized and the refs won’t call it. We’ve seen this for 20 years. Draft offense.
  19. I do think they should focus on drafting offense, other than that I basically disagree. Focus on big intermediate/deep threat receivers. Getting those players will maximize Allen’s potential. Turning Allen into a dink and dunk passer would be an abomination. There were tons of great deep throws he made last year that fell incomplete due to our receivers’ inability to track the ball, lack of that “extra gear” to accelerate to the ball and lack of ability to complete catches on passes that hit both hands.
  20. I’m right there with you. Tremendous physical talent AND production AND football IQ. I think he will ultimately prove to be the better receiver. He fits the bill for the type of receiver you can count on in any situation.
  21. I like him enough where I would take him at 9, but ideally Buffalo could trade down and nab him.
  22. AJ Brown is my pick, let’s go Buffalo!!!
  23. I was pissed, mainly because I wanted either Darnold or Mayfield and Buffalo couldn’t work out a trade with the Giants to get to 2. I didn’t want Rosen at all. Allen didn’t seem like a fit for Buffalo because I had 0 faith in the coaches’ ability to develop a “raw” prospect, but I was impressed with his Senior Bowl. For those reasons I was pissed on draft night. In my opinion Allen may have developed himself more than the coaches. He won me over completely in his first preseason action, playing unlike any QB I’ve ever seen before. Barring any catastrophic injury, I think he’ll go down as one of the all time greats one day. Get the man some receivers and he could lead the #1 offense in football.
  24. I have to say Adrian Peterson impresses me the most due to the extreme athleticism on defense in his era and the fact that the NFL turned into a passing league with RB by committee. I doubt people will recognize how special he was as a runner until 20 years from now when no runningback comes close to duplicating his production. I don’t think we will see another RB that productive, for that long, in our lifetimes. He marks the end of the historic RBs.
