RD 3, Pick 74: RB Devin Singletary, Florida Atlantic

As possibly the only FAU grad Bills fan on the planet, I approve this pick. -
Bills bringing in another QB, this time from CFL

Coincidence or is it in the cards for the Bills?

Just sayin that both Kelly and Allen have a double-L. Know what else has a double-L? Hall of fame. -
I'm fine with a boring Friday night in late April, as long as it's leading to exciting Sundays in September-December (January? Is that too much to hope?). That is more than an even trade in my book.

Would love to have him sit a year, though if history is any indicator it's highly unlikely that it happens... practically no first round QB gets an actual "redshirt" year no matter what the team claims the plan is in April. Josh Allen could use a year to sit but unless the team is competitive with McCarron at the helm, the pressure's going to be on to see what the kid has got. Week 1 (0-0): "AJ's our starter." Week 4 (0-3): "We believe AJ gives us the best chance to win right now." Week 8 (2-5): "We evaluate the situation every week." ***ESPN pans to Josh Allen on the sideline every time McCarron makes an incompletion*** Week 9 (2-6): "Josh will get some first team reps in practice." ***Allen plays the 4th quarter and eeks out a win*** Week 10 (3-6): "This isn't just about winning, it's about the future." ***Allen vs. Darnold*** Week 12 (3-7): "We feel the bye week has given Josh the preparation he needs to be the starter the rest of the way..." ...and scene.

It's #2 Spot or no Trade-Up at All
Meh. replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I guess my question is which is more important, getting a top-3 QB, or getting the top-3 QB that we WANT. If the concern is just, will we get somebody in the top 3 QBs, then by all means trade up to 2 or 5 or whatever. But if they've got one guy that they covet above all others, you don't trade up to a spot when there's still time for someone else to trade to a higher spot. You end up possibly losing out on the guy you want and spending multiple draft picks on someone you're not as sure about. -

Honestly the only pick I wouldn't be worried about getting leapfrogged on is the number one overall. Even if we somehow got to 2 today, who's to say the Jets couldn't package #3, next year's first and change and jump us again? Nor have I, I just still feel like it's doubtful they'd keep two top-5 picks, even if they're going to really redshirt one for a year (doubts about that as well). It's been 24 years since anyone had two top-5 picks in the first round, and Cleveland could use as many early-round picks the next few years as anyone's willing to throw at them, especially if they somehow flub their QB choice (which, let's face it, they're the Browns and they're likely to do). Although who knows, maybe they actually pull off the 2-QB scenario and come away looking brilliant in a couple years. -

You move up to 5 now and give other QB-needy teams two days to trade up to 4 or 2. Better to let the chips fall and make a move the night of, if they can get the guy they want. If we were going to do something today I'd say try to move to 4 with the Browns, and then on draft day if the Giants bite (since they'd be able to get Barkley at 4), leapfrog the Jets. -
I'm starting to think the QB Class is Overhyped
Meh. replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the Giants trade rumors are true then I wouldn’t want them pulling the trigger on it until the browns’ first pick is in. Don’t give anyone the opportunity to jump up to one, like say the jets trading up from three to get ahead of us. I’m sure the browns would be happy with picks 3 and 4 and the haul they’d get from NY. If Gettleman is Beane’s BFF then I’d say maybe it’s true that a deal is “in place” with both sides agreeing to shut up about it until the big night. Not a huge trade up fan but if they’re going to do it they should get their ducks in a row but hold off on making it public until they absolutely have to. -
Only if she's 5'3", in which case she's too short to play QB anyway.

If you like football and grew up in Buffalo/WNY...

I was born in Rochester to a Rochester-local mother and a West Seneca-raised father, so there was never any question where my fanhood would lie. Grew up much farther upstate, St. Lawrence county, which is a pretty decent mix of Bills and Giants, and some Jets fans from what I remember, although having been a teen in the early 90's a lot of people around there were jumping on the Cowboys bandwagon and never got off. Saddens me to say that after 20 years living in South Florida my dad talks more about the Dolphins than the Bills these days. Not sure if it's the local TV coverage or if he's just getting senile. -

Two firsts for the girl, a conditional late-round pick in 2022 for the wife. Edit: I meant mine. -
20 Year Debate: Carucci in 1998 - Head vs. Arm
Meh. replied to BigBuff423's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Manning got a 28 and Leaf got a 27. The "head" he's talking about has nothing to do with a test score. The "considerable discipline and maturity" - which one of the top 4-5 QBs this year is the standout in that regard?
